  1. For those who are curious, a quote from the site- Established in 2023, the Summit Circle recognizes those that make a financial investment of $25,000 or more, in addition to their ticket donations, to Akron Athletics. Investors in the Summit Circle make multi-year pledges that are crucial to the long-term financial success of our athletics program. Kudos to the Groces for doing this. This is something every coach who makes big money from the school should do. I promise to be a Summit Circle member when the university pays me $650K.

  3. Amen, between that and his kid being on the team we have reason to be encouraged.

  4. For most of us it would be a donation. Fans and boosters really don't see any returns if they give money. Maybe a few perks and a social media post. But for Groce it's more of an investment. Any money he puts into the program is going to make it better, the team will win and he will be paid accordingly. It's a great gesture and very smart of them to give back. Hopefully this means he's here to stay for a long time.

  5. I have us with 2-3 open schollies (depending on if a PK is put on scholly) based on the information that has been made publicly available. I have to think a QB and RB are top priorities to ensure appropriate depth. At QB, you have Finley, a gadget QB, and then a true freshman. We had 5 scholarship QBs last year for what its worth. At RB, I think Simmons is the starter right now with Kellom #2 getting a fair share of carries. After that, Marquese Williams and Sean Patrick are both young and small. I would not count on either of them getting a heavy workload if Simmons or Kellom were to get banged up.

  8. Trust me, if I were a high roller, I'd have a t-shirt cannon promo at every game just for NWAkron. I can't think of a single thing that would be a better use of my money/donor money.

  9. Not that I am aware of. However, the Simmons, Williams, and Finely commitments we received this year did not have offers announced ahead of time if I recall correctly. We had added a WR and DL this cycle, and may have more schollies available than known.

  13. Chris pitched 7 shutout innings spacing out 5 hits to (hopefully) take the win. His record should be 4-6 after tonight.

  14. I'm moving from Wilmington, NC to Delaware next week. I think I'll actually be able to watch the Zips play at Georgetown! It's been a few years since I've gotten to watch them.
