I could see Scott getting the 6th man. Groce, coach of the year and Young, freshman of the year. Besides that maybe “teamism” for player of the year. Nothing is as obvious as Freeman last year.

Since 2007, Akron has appeared in 11 of 17 MAC Championship games. We've never won back-to-back tournaments (time to change this!). Incredibly, we have only faced 4 teams in the championship game: 3-2 vs Kent State 1-2 vs Ohio 1-1 vs Buffalo 0-1 vs Miami

I just want to add an item to your list, recruiting. Funding for travel certainly applies to this, but I think it’s worth being more specific. Most people don’t realize the time and expense that goes into it. I don’t know how Groce goes about recruiting at Akron, but at Illinois he was flying a private jet all over the country during his so called “down time”. Even with the help of staff and the Fear The Roo Collective to narrow down good prospects, there is no substitute for face time with a player. Especially on their important nights such as state championships. This one on one interaction is an area Groce absolutely excels so the more he can be in the room, the better.

I went to a game there around 2009 or 10 when Charlie Coles was still there. They had a big black curtain up hiding a whole side of the arena and there couldn't have been more than 200 people at the game. They didn't even really have people working and we just walked back towards the locker rooms after the game and got to see a fun interaction with Charlie telling KD the MAC was his now.

What does this even mean? I can understand that UA probably doesn't have the budget for it, but "I wish several local high schools didn't have nicer seating than my D1 college" means I have problems?

The JAR is a ****hole, but it's our ****hole. I'd love to see a new facility or a revamped facility but a school that is budgetary trouble and cutting staff has bigger concerns than throwing money at an adequate facility and doesn't much care about the comfort of the stalwarts that go to the games.
