"Akron Vs. Toledo=Black Friday Week Fun!'"
Not this year.
Toledo has already did their MAC Screw Up already and I do not know what will happen.
Will Toledo Phone it in, or will they come to play
Will Akron Defense do just enough to keep the Offence around?
Will there be a offence explosion?
Discuss.....
I truly hope this is a turning point and a momentum turner, but I'm going to hold off celebrating a win over a 1-3 Fcs team whose only win is against a winless D2 school.
Akrons game was very good but it should have been. Duquesne offense was one of the worst college offenses I have ever seen and Finley is still hit and miss.
I think we go 0-3 the next stretch.
Saturday September 20
Vermont 4-2 road win over Fairfield
St. Louis 1-0 road win against Duquesne
Cornell earns a 3-0 home win against NJIT
Northern Kentucky at Robert Morris ....2-2 Tie
Oakland at Cleveland State ....CSU 1-0 win
Dayton at VCU....postponed due to weather....the 2 teams will play Sunday night at 7
Any time I don't use my ticket for a game, I email Matt and tell him which game I want to swap it for, and then I have 2 tickets to the desired game. You can do it after the game has happened too, so you don't need to pre-plan it. If you miss a game, just tell him which future game you want to use it for.
The Acme Zip game was a great community event, but the support came from the chain basically giving away tickets on shopping bags. Little effort was put into the game by the University, but that was a different era. The University didn't have much of a marketing department back then.
I think the BB problem has solid support and is meeting expectations. Sold out crowds on a Monday in January isn't realistic. It's also hard to have outdoor events for fans to draw more people.
I also don't see how the University maximizes community opportunity playing so few home games in fair weather months and weeknight games in poor weather months during the week at night. The head winds of the ESPN contract and us selling out the football program for money makes it hard to get traction.
