my freshman year all the athletes were taught the fight song and we learned it zip! go the zippers. to me that sounds and flows much better.

i think i'm going to walk over to bw3's on exchange (near my house) and ask for a tv to be turned if they don't have one on the game. i'd stay home and watch it, but we don't have cable hooked up yet.

aside from our own worries, what happens to our conference if other schools can't get their attendance up. i'm sure schools will be practically be giving away tickets before they ever got dropped, but our whole conference looks bad. i also think a lot of this is dependent upon the students to come, and i know i'm going to every game that i can with friends in tow.

well it's better than what my grandma is always telling people...university of ohio at akron. then i correct her and she says university of akron ohio...lol i correct her politely again and let it slide caues she is in her mid-80's and losing it a bit.

actually zips zone still lives, just not as a name of a student section. each sport chooses one home event as thier zips zone event, and as a show of support and unity among athletes all the other athletes are supposed to go to at least that one event.

i also think that with the success of ak-rowdies last year, students will still be chanting AK-ROWDY! i agree that "roo zoo" is one of the most retarded things i've heard and even "zips zoo" was better.

geeze, if you're talking the outdoor practice field i would have just walked around and went into shrank, only to watch from the little plaza thing up there. you'd get a great view and i don't think they can really do much about that...even if they did put tarps up along the fence

wow! calm down. that was just my understanding and there is nothing wrong with having a female mascot. personally i think it's kind of cool to be only one of two in the country.

haha...of course it's going to be full. they're cadets that are severly restricted priviledges. i'm sure they take every break they can, plus any army-navy game is guarenteed sold out. please...bad example

the person inside zippy has been both male and female, but from my understanding the mascot itself is a female, thus the pouch on the costume

hey, the only thing we can really ask is that they do the best job they can while they're here. matt has done an excellent job and i only hope that the person stepping into his shoes doesn't loose what he's worked hard to gain for us.

that's what i was first told too, but someone in the athletics department was saying that they were in really bad shape underneath and with plans to build a new stadium they didn't want to spend money to repair them, so they tarped it off since we wouldn't have any sold out games that the seats were necessary. -

yeah, it will be great exposure for the university by having the national match at the university. from my understanding, they'll be shooting in the field house (since air rifles only need pellet traps instead of a full on backstop). it will be like a free visit for hundreds of kids who are looking at shooting in college.

when he came he met with every team, and i was impressed and bought into what he was saying. i really liked the fact that he wants to expand our athletic programs instead of trying to cut back by cutting teams like so many other schools are doing now. you've probably seen him once or twice if you go to any games. he frequents home games regularly.
