  1. WAIT! Hold the presses!I think we have two Frodos on that team! David Filippino the second one is samwise
  2. ok, i'm just adding my own personal 2 cents.it is tiring to see the constant back and forth because no matter what anyone else says, no one's opinions are going to change. now, i think buckzip, you misunderstood bobby. see you can't compare florida or texas as competition like you can ohio state, because they are in a completely different region than us. they are in one sense or another competitors, but it's not the same as feeling the regional draw. while we may be a step behind osu in say football, it's not fair to use that one sport as your measuring stick. bobby, as hard as it is to admit it (whether or not it's a bunch of bull) football and basketball are what the american public like the most and osu has a more established program. i agree with you on many points including the cbj's coverage of akron sports as well as the fact that we're all d-1 and we're still looked down upon. we have a long ways to go, but maybe someday in the future things will change in that aspect.finally, i'm happy we have some people who joined our site cause now there always an active thread and people to talk with. and i'd rather read this osu back and forth than have to suffer more posts from that delusional antonio gates guy.
  3. last time i checked, concrete doesn't break like wood and fiberglass bleachers do. maybe the seats break cause they're meant to be sat on but people jump up and down on them. yeah everyone was standing on them, myself included. the difference is standing and cheering and jumping up and down as much as possible. when i heard that guy last night it really pissed me off. maybe you were the guy in front of me, maybe not cause there were a lot of greeks there. i still stand by my point that it's not cool to try to intentionally try to break them. make all the excuses you want, but i was able to be just as loud and rowdy without breaking my bench thank you very much.
  4. if i had a knife i would have sliced the damn thing. i agree that it detracted from the game, but more than that those of us that were watching the game had to keep an eye out to not get hit. it's good that people were having fun with it, which was the purpose, but it kinda annoyed me.
  5. man, if everything is going to be falling apart, then untarp the freaking endzone and let us back into our section! make everyone sign health waivers, i don't care! i hate where we were placed.
  6. walker was great. 2td's and he had some really nice blocks. i love the fact that he lowers his shoulder and keeps his legs going, even if he is stopped. that's how you get those couple extra yards. hope to see him play some more.
  7. i know that the bleachers are bad (as my teammate picked up two rusted off nuts off her seat) but to encourage people to bounce and jump on them in an attempt to get them to break wasn't cool. the one that broke right in front of me i know was on purpose (frat guys). my point is that it's shitty enough without us breaking it down even more.
  8. something needs to happen with our kicking games cause we're giving up the free points (pat's). i really don't know what to say...it's too frustrating to watch.
  9. first of all i'll get the good out of the way. EVERYONE was LOUD. it really was a great atmosphere to be in and a lot of fun. now that that's out of the way...first of all placing us away from our team SUCKS. looking across the way, there was room for us over there. they added more tarps and personally, i don't want to have to sit in front of a light post. second, students need to get a clue. i heard one guy before the game telling everyone to break as many benches as they could so that the school has to get a new stadium. hey dumbasst, there's a reason why we haven't broken ground yet - $$$$. even if they broke ground today, the stadium still wouldn't be ready for another couple of years and breaking the rubber bowl seats only means our sections get tarped and we have even worse places to sit. i saw at least three chunks of bleachers being raised up and cheered for since they were broken. seriously, it's not cool to force the university to have to spend anymore money on the rubber bowl just to get by for the next few years. we need that money to go into the NEW stadium.
  10. Hey everyone! We're holding the shoot today and tomorrow. Come on down, see what we're about and try your hand at olympic style shooting. Hopefully see you soon!
  11. peeked in the gym after i got off work...joyce was in there shooting three's with the auto rebounder. watched him for a few minutes and he was making 80-85%. he was MONEY! looking forward to another exciting year and extending our home win streak.
  12. are you going to be coming down? i'd love to meet you.
  13. couldn't agree with you more. i am so glad i came to akron, mainly because of him. there's a reason why i keep my mouth shut when everyone is demanding that kd and jd need more money. there's only so much to go around and i know everyone would jump me if i suggested giving it to other programs. my biggest worry is that when newt can't coach anymore, the job won't pay enough to attract another person to coach, and i'd hate to see the team fold over something as stupid as that.
  14. god guys lighten up. it's not really for us that he's saying that, but he's mocking all the other fans that may come out here and read it.
  15. i'll be there for at least the women. don't know if i'll make the men's. depends on the homework situation.
  16. i said i thought he wasn't playing that well and people blamed the o-line. while they are to take some of the blame i think that getsy has a lot of work to do, and i don't see what he's been hyped up to be. hopefully he figures out what makes him tick at the last second and can utilize that for the whole game.

  18. i didn't see my coach on there, but i already knew he was one of the lowest paid...too low to even make the list
  19. i love how they're still focused on that and not on their next game coming up. sorry guys the outcome isn't changing! let's go zips! beat cmu!
  20. what about bw3's? and does pints allow those of us under 21 in? i just need to find a place to watch.
  21. talking to a football player last night, he said there shouldn't be any emotional let down this game cause everyone has the mentality that they owe cmu for last year. looking forward to a good game if it can get televised.
  22. so today i was waiting for the polsky shuttle, which for you who don't know is the city bus that goes back and forth between polsky and the a&s loop. anyways, i was down by polsky watching the bus turn at the light when i noticed the advertisement on the side of the bus. of all the busses and of all the loops, this one that services the university of akron only had one of those disgusting can't "on the hunt" ads on the side of it.
  23. i have never tailgated anything before. i usually just show up 45 min before the game so i get my free stuff.
  24. there was one down on brown street by the track, but that was taken down by some woman who crashed her car through the fence on thursday night.
  25. honestly, i don't see anything changing in the near future...
