It was a fun ride for awhile. Curtin has been pulled back. Team exposed. This team reminds me of 2021. X is trying to carry the team like LCJ did. Semifinals exit. But Groce won't be pulled away. Silver lining.

they are shooting 50 and 54 % respectively. the problem is at the foul line but even making 4 more would leave the Zips in a tie. They don't need SHOTS. They need STOPS. they couldn't get those stops against Toledo and Ohio isn't as good at Toledo so the lead is only 4 instead of 10. Look for Ohio to pull away in the first 4 minutes. Maybe they can re-group in Ypsilanti like they did last season

Groce's February malaise.

The film is in the can and Toledo and Ohio have been watching it.

They will try and follow Toledo's game plan but likely don't have the personnel to pull it off? Toledo's plan: hack, push, grab, touch, double, trip, straddle, nudge, shoulder, bump Xavier and Freeman to death until the officials tell you to stop. The officials went along with the plan.

The MAC Tournament looking like a pipe dream. On another note, BG coach not likely to be around much longer but for the opposite reason.

"Just get to Cleveland" isn't a slogan that inspires confidence.

Outscored by 21 in the 3rd quarter after being tied at half. That's what can happen in DeKalb.

Always admire how Groce comes out and faces the music after a loss. Quick turnaround to Athens will be good for the Zips, similar to the BG/Buffalo turnaround in 2020.

For message boards and media the streaks and totals are important for a narrative and loyalzip is right again. We were conditioned in a certain way during those years which always led to disappointment. And I don't care what the seeding is in Cleveland. Play Kent in quarters for all I care. I don't need a sold out final game to enjoy a championship. We learned last year you have to run the gauntlet. There's no more hoping to be seeded on the "ball state" mac west side of the bracket.

Toledo's night. Reminded me a lot of the Akron/Kent game. But this time Akron was Kent and couldn't get it going. Zips have the toughest schedule. Toledo, Kent, and Ball State twice! That should have them well prepared for March.

Too bad the student section wasn't chanting "1980" at Toledo and their traveling crew. I've never seen a double foul called. One charged. One blocked. Ok. Now it's the Rockets turn in the barrell. Unfortunately for all MAC schools the only glory is the MAC tournament. Win there, cut down the nets, hoist the trophy, and hope you aren't sent to Anchorage for the first round. Maybe win a game, then watch your best players, and coach leave and start over.

Not likely. But wow these refs. But if complaining about refs...losing.
