I have to ask what Arth era games were you watching where there was a lot of talent? Arth wasn’t even building a team that would have been good at DI-AA. If you check the TP threads you will see most of the Arth kids that left ended up going to lower divisions or not playing anymore (or ended up places that weren’t big enough for us to find).

He’s better than Arth who posted losing records anywhere he was outside of D3 John Carroll. Joe was excellent at Fordham and was 14-12 in the SEC. Coach Joe has been hurt by Recruiter Joe. Not a news flash for ZNO that he needs to find us a QB. You cannot tell me there was anything to build on when Joe arrived. The cupboard was bare. The D (even after NIU) is much improved and with a QB Joe is the best bet to fix this. Tell me who you would hire if you were the AD.

The first pass was behind Adams but he got both hands on it and it’s 2nd and 10 instead of 2nd and 5.

NH has a much better QB who almost put up 500 yards that game. No way a D1 QB Room should be this bad.

Good luck getting any of the non-ZNO, casual football fans to come back this season. Games like this kill any chance of generating a fan base or getting a walk up crowd. The stands are going to get emptier and quieter as we move forward. On to soccer, hoops and 80 proof or better beverages. Talk to you all in a week or so.

I agree totally. I hated that he was banged up all season after coming off surgery and never looked quite right. I don’t think all the quarterback draws and delayed runs helped either. Add in his lack of getting the ball out quick and his frequently keeping the ball on a RPO regardless of what the defense gave him and it’s no surprise he didn’t make it through the season. He got crushed, rocked and killed every game.

You are 100% correct. The sad part is even with average MAC QB play we would have made a run at 4-1 with the way the defense is playing.

Going back to Bowden through Arth to now, I hate being in the shotgun on short yard plays. We take WAY too many big losses.
