  1. Hey that would be like 5% of the total attendance that day!
  2. Umass having to travel to Sac State is wild
  3. Basically three since buffalo is on Black Friday with no students on campus
  4. https://youtu.be/zg057sOb7tE?si=Ztiy4t43Kn22w_PR
  5. Yes but you can’t just expect to win the mac tournament and then say “great job guys! I’m glad we got this moment because we don’t have a chance next week”
  6. Yes it may be tougher for teams out of the horizon, big west, southland to win. But we have seen some “Cinderella-adjacent” runs in college sports this year with Indiana football and maybe we will see something similar with Nebrasketball
  7. Degrees from Harvard and Yale? Dude basically just went to the same school
  8. The network is basically only reruns of impractical jokers for 361 days of the year. I'd rather have a strong NIT with those big schools, and hopefully the big fanbases would still watch. Just like bowl games, the Europa League, etc. Once teams decide they are "too good" for a level of competition it ruins the whole system
  9. The bubble this year was so bad, if this year they expanded with this criteria, the last spot in relative to kenpom would be between 18-14 Indiana, and 16-16 Baylor. This year was the first time I have ever really watched a first four game with Miami. I would say most people don't watch those games and doubling that amount so we can see more games potentially like UVA vs Colorado State a couple years ago isn't going to make march madness more popular. It would also be a shame to have 4 conference tournament champions just missing out on the round of 64 each year. It would also put even more pressure on those teams in the low ranking conferences to switch conferences. Its a slippery slope to encourage more conference realignment at all levels. Who would've thought that college basketball would be more like the premier league before college soccer
  10. I hate that we have to go through this every year at this point. He could sign a contract until 2059 but the first thought after the season ends is “Is groce leaving?” It’s unfair to everyone involved in the Akron program that we can’t go 24 hours into the offseason before the speculation starts. It’s that deep-rooted P5/ESPN/SEC/Ohio State bias showing through
  11. Thats the biggest problem with the game today, people outside the program that didn’t watch the game just assume we got demolished. Amani makes that 3 and it’s a one possession game in the final 7 minutes. The discourse in here reminds me of when the guardians got eliminated by the tigers this past year. They had a tremendous final month of the season but once they lost, people acted like the whole year was some big failure. Sure not all the goals were accomplished but at the end of the day only 1 team ends the year on a win, and making the postseason is something to be proud of even if you still have room for improvement
  12. Don’t see teams like BG, Toledo, WMU on here. I’d rather have Akron be on this list than what they have to show for basketball
  13. To win in a game like this you have to be talented, really well prepared, and a little fortunate. I’m sure prep wasn’t an issue, talent is always going to favor the power conference team, and the luck swung all towards Texas tech in the last 8 minutes of the game. Amani had an open look to cut the lead to 2 in the final fourth of the game. It doesn’t go down and Texas tech scores on almost every possession for the rest of the game. The defense down the stretch couldn’t force misses we got at other points in the game
  14. Thats ridiculous thing to say, I don’t think a program like Yale, St. Peter’s, ORU is just gonna accept the fact that they will never do anything in the tournament. You can play hard all season and you get one game where you are the underdog to prove yourself. There’s a reason for the seeding in the tournament
  15. This team won the most games in program history. People always bring up that 2013 dambrot team as one of the best. 2020 was also up there. But this team won 29 games. If the only thing that matters is winning in the round of 64 has the program ever been good at the d1 level? The football team could go 6-6 and lose in a bowl game and people would say it’s a great season. This zips basketball team represented this school well and was something to be proud of
  16. TT missed 7 shots the entire second half
  17. Shooting 65% from the field is how bigger seeds win, if the favorite is doing that no shot
  18. Bowen was open on that fast break. Gotta play fast
  19. 6 points in 55 seconds. Need better rotations
  20. If Sharron can hit a couple of threes it will open up this offense
  21. Good effort by Evan at the end there. Come out with some good D and gotta make our FTs
  22. Only 1 TO so far, we need to capitalize now
  23. Need to win this rebounding battle
