Akron is the final team in the MAC to not lose a game at home this year

I've said it before on here, but UA doesn't prioritize sporting events (other than football) for students. Students honestly don't even know games are going on most of the time. I think the focus on social media this year has been good, but if you ask 10 students on the Tuesday that classes resume if they are going to the game that night they will say "Oh, I didn't know there was a game tonight" from more than half. I think how bad the football team is does discourage some students from attending other sports simply because they think we are bad at everything. If the school did more things to excite students about sports more would show up

Exactly. Minor League Baseball is a good comparison to Mid Major college sports. Both have some die hard fans, but a majority of the people that go to MiLB games go for something else. Whether its a theme, giveaway, or whatever, the entertainment is what makes people come out. We can do more entertainment at games without taking away from the actual product on the floor. The in-game experience hasn't been the same since Covid, and that really does make a difference, especially if casual fans came back to one game after covid, and went home with the mentality of "I can just watch this at home"

The JAR ticket prices are just crazy. You’ve got $10 GA, $20 upper level chair back, $30 lower level non mid court, then $50 lower level mid court. Those prices are just too far apart, especially the last 2. There really isn’t that much of a difference in seating to be charging that much

Assuming the matchups are made by humans, there should be no chance we get anyone other than JMU. We have 3 very winnable games before we get to the Can’t game. We should be 5-0 in MAC play and the clear best team when they decide

If we can get 6k for the Kent game we should get at least 3k for every other game the rest of the year

The box score has the attendance at 2394. I would say that’s pretty good for a 9pm game on break. The crowd was into the game to, especially as we took the lead

Well, technically 5 home games. But only 3 D1 home games

100% Agree. Comparing this year to the championship season 2 years ago, this schedule has been way better. Yes we played OSU and Marshall, but the other games were not close to what we got this year. That year we had Point Park (compare to Miami-Hamilton), Wheeling (compare to Heidelberg), Wright State (compare to NKU). Other than that, this year had way better games, and a much better Thanksgiving Tournament field.

The MAC only has 4/12 teams in the top 200 Kenpom, Akron 99 Can't 117 Toledo 146 Ohio 173 BG is 204, one of only 2 teams with 10+ wins and under the 200 mark (San Diego 223) BG is also 30th in the country in Luck

Again advocating for Thornton, he has never been much of a scorer. Last year he averaged 8.8 PPG(career high) and shot 41.8% (career high). This year he is averaging 46.2% on 12 fewer minutes per game. He also has a 2.3 Assist to Turnover ratio this year, up from 1.65 from last year. Groce has commended Thornton the last few games, he just doesn’t get the minutes down the stretch

Always a tough trip to NIU. But they did change their court!

I think they just play above their numbers. They just aren’t going to score a lot when you have Ali and Enrique on the floor doing a lot of the scoring
