WTH is Bowden talking about it wouldn't be fair to Pohl? I guess if you were losing by 40 points he would be right. But he never thought about the switch after all the INT's? This sounds like Bowden is full of crap and trying to explain his stupidity and stubbornness

I hope you're right. I am impressed by the D. This is a MAC champion caliber D. I never thought the O would be the weakness of a Bowden team. Unless Pohl was hurt and unable to go, I have lost a lot of respect for Bowden.

This team has completely reverted back to Ianello. Just when it seemed this team gave us something to get excited about, they lose to 2 straight crappy teams.

In spite of Woodson being an interception machine and the other various stupid turnovers, the defense held BSU to field goals. The defense would have won this game if the offense didn't give it away. I have lost a ton of respect for Bowden. He had a great win against Pitt and obviously let him team think they were much better than they are and didn't need to show up anymore. That combined with his QB pet being left in the game no matter how badly he played shows a very stubborn coach that refuses to be proven wrong. If he didn't want to go to Pohl, why the hell not give Hirschman a shot? Good grief, Woodson doesn't deserve to be on a college football field.

Pohl must have really done something to tick off Bowden. Either that or Bowden is throwing the season hoping for a high draft pick.

We have no reason to worry about Bowden leaving. This is a disgrace.

Maybe he was apologizing for putting him in a no win situation. There's no excuse for a coach with this much experience having such a horrible game plan. Love TB, but damn.

Coaching lost this game. Not sure why HIrschman never got a chance. Way too many turnovers.

4-2 is great for UA, especially compared to recent seasons. However, the difference is that here at UA, an 8-4 season would be a great and winning season and we would all be very, very happy. At the major schools that are heavily followed, 8-4 is a terrible season and gets the coach fired. Until we start putting up consecutive 10-2, 11-1 seasons with some bowl victories scattered in, nothing will change for Akron. It's all about expectations and real wins. Not just improving, but being a consistent winner at a high level. To us, 8-4 is great. To a casual fan, 8-4 is mediocre.

Are you sure they are yanking Pohl and not just getting the backup some real game reps? Some teams do that so the backup gets real reps.
