  1. Well, we've seen him in games too
  2. I don't know, I think you're forgetting the year Jacquemain got kicked off the team. We stuck some guys out there that wouldn't start at most high schools in NEO.
  3. Bowden sees these guys day in day out in practice and I blame him for sticking Chapman out there knowing he can't play. He should've been preparing Kato this week.
  4. Why shouldn't we burn it? Woodson has another year, Kato can redshirt next year. We need him desperately right now. Unfortunately he's probably only been taking scout team snaps in practice.
  5. We've got to pull Nelson's redshirt. Chapman gives us no chance.
  6. I don't care what's wrong with Woodson. He needs to go in at halftime, put his pads on, and suck it up. We have no chance without him.
  7. How was this guy ever a 4 star QB? He wasn't even good at the D2 level.
  8. God, I'd forgotten how bad Chapman sucked
  9. http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2003-08-28-akron.html This is the Golden Flush comeback that still sticks in my crawl to this day. It was the most disappointing game I have ever been a part of. Up 14 points with 5:52 left and gave up 17 points to lose. This was the season opener, and we had ended the previous season by kicking the absolute dog crap out of Kent. You just never know with this game.
  10. Gentlemen, it's been a long, painful, grueling road to get here, but I do believe we can finally raise a glass. We have arrived.
  11. I'm going over. I understand the personnel and depth issues, but everyone in the MAC has personnel and depth issues. I think we win Marshall and App State, drop one in conference, and get to the MAC Championship game. Call me optimistic, but I have faith that Terry is going to continue to progress this program.
  12. Fun little topic for the doldrums of late spring/summer when there's not much to talk about football-wise. Who do you think was the hardest hitting Zips football player of all time? I'm experientially biased, but I have to go with Diontre Earl, otherwise known as "Bullet". if there was any guy I did not want to lock horns with in practice, it was that sawed off little dude. He gave me snot bubbles on more than a few occasions, and I saw him absolutely decapitate a few opposing players in games. Any others?
  13. Oh Oh I'd never argue the 3-3-5 was a great scheme, I liked watching guys like Chevin Pace and Mackey in that Rover spot. I would've certainly traded that for a 4-3 or a competently run 3-4 with good subpackages.
  14. You're about a decade off there skip, John played from 2003-2007, was a big part of that 2005 MAC Championship team. But I agree, great player who didn't really fit a traditional position, but he was fun to watch at that Rover spot in the 3-3-5.
  15. That's the Troy Polamalu role in Pittsburgh, and damn are they hurting at safety.
  16. Round 7 to the Pittsburgh Steelers
  17. Yeah just noticed that he transferred in last year. Props to Bowden for keeping him in line, he has a remarkable track record for doing that with troubled players. He should write a book on it when he retires, a lot of other coaches would find it very useful.
  18. Is he eligible to play this year? I don't like it when guys with troubled pasts have a year to sit out. They get bored and go do stupid things.
  19. Arguably, the three biggest names on the Steelers are MAC guys: - Roethlisberger- Miami (OH) - Antonio Brown- Central Mich. - James Harrison- Kent St.
  20. I feel like the Dambrot era has been the same CD on repeat for over a decade. Consistently good teams, but every so often when we have good teams with the potential to be great, they crumble. It's exhausting.
  21. Agreed on Fahler and Gill (though Fahler came in as a much more highly touted recruit than Frye), but you better believe if Frye had gone down Sparks would've been back taking reps at QB. Same with Getsy/Arthur (though Ferguson may have been given a shot, I think there was a lot of unrealized potential with him). And I agree, I'm just glad we have a legitimate #1 again, I'm not going to bitch about the lack of a viable backup at this point. Good to be back Cap.
  22. Jabari Arthur and Nick Sparks were both 1-A caliber QB's in my opinion. They pressed both guys in camp at the quarterback position, but once both had established themselves as starters, the right move was made to not waste their talents on the bench.
  23. The idea that an established Quarterback needs to be pushed is hogwash.
  24. Hey, remember all those bowl games we went to when Brookhart's "top ranked" recruiting classes came of age?? Yeah, neither do I. I'll take winning on the field over winning on Rivals.com.
  25. Where the hell is this guy? In the middle of camp and the guy hasn't written a football related blog post since spring ball. Pathetic.
