  1. Call me crazy, but I think the Zips win this one by 10+. "Rest" is overrated in the game of basketball, especially only coming off one extra game. I in fact think playing recently is an advantage, as chemistry and muscle memory is much sharper than after an extended break in action. Given that fact, the fact that we absolutely gave the game away last time in Kalamazoo, and our depth advantage, Zips take this one walking away.
  2. Why the heck would they put out a list of candidates, and why the heck would they tell you or anybody else who they've interviewed? It's the secondary coach from crap's sake.
  3. It sounds like Buckzip, similar to all Luckeye fans, has SEC penis envy.
  4. While I'm not sure what he was trying to accomplish with that rant, I'm not seeing any slurs. If we're such a pansy society nowadays that a football coach can get canned for dropping a few f bombs in the heat of the moment and calling players b--tches, then we're worse off than I thought.
  5. We'd be playing for bowl eligibility next week. Damn.
  6. This was clearly written by some guy who has no clue the situation at Akron, just looked at Terry's win/loss record, and said "Oh, he must be on the hotseat."
  7. I think we pull off the shocker (no not that shocker). Bowden has had time to change the culture in the locker room and I think he has. We have enough talent at some key positions, and UCF is going to be looking at us as a complete warmup game. If we pull this off it will be the biggest win for the program since NC State in 2006.
  8. I wasn't talking about you dipshit, most on here know by now that you never have anything of substance to offer a discussion amidst all your lame attempts at sarcasm and humor.
  9. Some of you are absolutely ridiculous in your pessimism, even for a program that's won two games in the last two years. For the UCF fans, we're looking for a big year out of our running back Jawon Chisholm. He is an incredibly hard runner with the kind of speed in his cuts to pick up every inch of yardage he is given. The problem in the past couple seasons is that our offensive line was so bad, there weren't very many inches of yardage given. We also have a very talented young quarterback who will be entering his first season as a starter with a lot of potential. After a year of watching and learning Terry Bowden's offense behind a veteran single caller, he should be primed for a very solid season. Our defensive line will also be a strength, led by FSU transfer Moses McCray. I don't expect us to beat you guys down there, but it will be a much more competitive game than last year, despite what some of these bafoons would have you believe.
  10. I'm sure Chris meant a lot to his family and friends, who have great memories of him and saw the complete picture of who he was despite his shortcomings, but the damage he inflicted upon this football program will ensure that he is never a cherished figure on Buchtel Ave. We'll leave the honoring to those family and friends while Zip fans give proper respect to the dead and move on.
  11. He had a nice little exchange with Mark Madden (coke and strippers eh?) and a few others today. I'm gonna go ahead a pass on this cancer cell, I don't care how talented he is. https://twitter.com/RushelShell
  12. Didn't we lose that game like 51-0?? I'd like to see your rubric.
  13. Wrong BC linebacker. Chase already played with that guy in NY.
  14. Southern Miss
  15. I watched Arkansas State beat the living fire out of a pretty good Middle Tennessee team. They have some serious speed and their QB is like a poor man's Johnny Manziel. Ark St. big, 47-21 if the weather is decent.
  16. Hyper-sensitive much?
  17. It's not BS. If you aren't playing in the national championship, most teams take a very casual approach to bowl games. It's viewed as an end of the season reward for your team for whatever success you had. Teams arrive in the bowl city 4 or 5 days early, with the daily schedule once they arrive looking like this: get in a light practice in the morning, bowl-sponsored team activities/promotionals in the afternoon, and then the players and coaches go out and enjoy the local nightlife till about 3 AM. Next day, hit reset and repeat. Granted not all coaches take this approach. JD took the Motor City Bowl very seriously in '05. He had his guys back on campus early for two-a-days before they left, and once in Detroit there was no partying whatsoever, as the guys had a strict curfew of around 10 every night. Contrast that with Memphis, who's players spent every night across the bridge drinking, gambling, and carousing till the sun came up. Given the result, JD should've just let his guys enjoy the trip.
  18. This year, the quality of MAC football was better than the WAC, the Sun Belt, the Mountain West, Conference USA, and even the Big East. The MAC is also the only stable and still truly regional (the way college conferences should be) conference in the country. I think being in the MAC in 2012 is something to be proud of, and that carries over into basketball too. Hopefully attendance will begin to match the quality of play throughout the conference if this level of play continues. Of course, we were here in 2003, and the conference took a nose dive, so we'll see.
  19. Our problems in the 2nd half have much less to do with gameplan, and much more to do with depth. It'll come people. These guys need a few more offseasons and a couple recruiting classes of guys that fit their schemes. Let's remember on offense we're playing a high octane spread with kids that were recruited to ground and pound and on defense we're running a defense that depends on pressure and blitz packages with kids who were recruited to play in 4-3 max zone reactionary type scheme.
  20. The long awaited Terry Pluto "little engine that could" article. http://www.cleveland.com/pluto/blog/index....ml#incart_river
  21. While our record from last year may end up the same, the progress was unmistakable. I don't think some of you realize how completely devoid of talent this team really is. If TB can get 3500 yards out of a 1-AA backup, I can't wait to see what he can do after a couple recruiting classes. Patience, people.
  22. Cleaned up his act?? I played with the guy and was friends with the guy, and I have no clue what that's supposed to mean.
  23. Congratulations to our former head coach, Lee Owens, who's Ashland Eagles completed an undefeated season yesterday by blowing out Notre Dame College 65-0. Also on staff at Ashland are former UA assistants Doug Geiser, Tom Stacy, and Mitch Browning, along with former Miami University head coach Tim Rose. If Owens makes a national championship run he could be looking at another shot at the FBS level, if he's even interested in that, which I doubt he is. http://www.goashlandeagles.com/sports/fbal.../20121110sjdw5z
  24. Had a great Bachelor Party weekend for my buddy in the Dyrtle once. If you're looking to party there's no better place on the east coast.
  25. Helmet to helmet contact is allowed on a ball carrier. The flags come when helmet to helmet contact is made on a "defenseless" player, which would be a quarterback with his eyes down the field who hasn't declared himself a runner or a reciever attempting to make a catch or running a route in the open field. If a runner puts his head down and bulls forward you can still crack him in the noggin, though there's a push to change that, which would be absolutely ridiculous.
