It was an appropriate time for a coach to call the refs out and take the yellow card. There was some home town stuff going on. The team was inspired after the yellow card….. Nice job coaches!!

Leaving Ludwig Field now...strutting with my Zips hat on. Score was 3-2 but we looked great. First Maryland goal was questionable...looked like an amazing save to me. We packed it in after being up 2-0 and that was tense. We hit the gas and went up 3-1...packed it in and gave up another. BELIEVE ME this is a tough place to win. Unbelievable road swing ZIPS! We beat both Maryland and Georgetown who both sent former #1 UCLA back to the west coast with their tails between their legs. Keep it going men....

I will have my Zips Soccer shirt on!!! We've had some great soccer in D.C this week that is for sure. Had dinner with a coach from Maryland last night, he said their UCLA game set records for attendance. I would imagine our game tomorrow will also be electric…….they know very well who we are and know it is going to be a battle.

pphilfran - Ignore Capt Kangaroo. He blames everything bad in this world on Rob Ianello - ISIS, riots, racial tensions, global warming - ALL Rob Ianellos fault. I agree, we do need to patient and we have the best coach we could hope for. It hard for even a Bowden to bring talent in after the miserable seasons we've had and an empty stadium for recruiting visits. Heck, our soccer coach lost one game this year and some Zip fans want him fired. Thanks for coming on. Good luck this season.

What I mean is that there has been a lot of negativity around the "The University of Akron" in the last years. The football team (our marquis sport) has been terrible. The University of Akron's academic rep has taken some hits around graduation rates,, financial issues, olive jars, restructuring some of the curriculum, decreasing enrollment, lowest attendance in the NCAA, etc. I think it is important academically and athletically to appeal to those outside of the Akron footprint. IF (and this is a big IF) we start to show improvement in some of these areas and there is some positive mojo created - lets pin it to The Ohio Tech Zips. Put the 1-10 seasons and all the other negativity on the University of Akron. Great stuff…..I like it!! I hope I am right about this but I believe as the cloud is lifted from our football team and our basketball team continues success, and soccer - it will accelerate the transformation to Ohio Tech. It is a great time to re-invent yourself as The Ohio Tech Zips. To me the new Z logo, the name change is all happening to coincide with anticipated attention. Perfect timing in my opinion. Now if the ABJ would leave us alone. Of course they couldn't just print that we have a new marketing campaign to attract new students and promote positives…..they had to include the financial issues (almost defeats the campaign).

I was at the game….we looked good. Nice rebound by the Zips. This is a brutal road swing….if we can beat Maryland on Monday…..wow! GO ZIPS!! Maryland beat #1 UCLA last night!! Hoyas play #1 UCLA on Monday - GO HOYAS!! For those that want tough schedules in our other sports…we sure have that with Akron Futbol.

And our team essentially has been gutted by underclassmen going pro early. It is very hard to maintain stability when you are producing pros. 1 loss and people start complaining……….unreal!!

Funny, the ABJ posts an article on us getting beaten badly 4-1 by ODU. I don't believe ABJ posted anything on our 3-2 golden goal win vs VCU (at least I couldn't find it)
