  2. My daughters said we are supposed to keep this on the down low (DL)! Got it...
  3. Can anyone confirm (or deny) that Egner is going to Walsh?
  4. Doesn't Gilliam have only one year of eligibility?
  5. Expect more of the same when it comes to UA football/athletics until the Care-Factor changes. Every time this topic comes up, you can count in CK to point fingers at the administration, GP1 to talk money or lack thereof and ZipsWin! to blame a lame alumni association. Fact is, everyone is correct. Things will change when those involved and have real control of the programs start to give a damn. Does the board of trustees really care about UA football? How many faculty, staff, students and alumni really care about UA football? I agree that the administration has been lacking over the course of the last 25 years. But how to find people that give a damn when they are looking for the next best deal- money or prestige to go somewhere else? Hell, Mr. Infocision himself doesn’t really care about UA football, he’ll be rooting for the buckeyes on September 3rd. Even the miniscule fan base that UA has is somewhat segmented. There are many who really like soccer and hoops, but are in Columbus on Saturdays in the fall as they wouldn’t have the backbone to support football at UA. Let’s face it, being a Zips football fan isn’t the most popular thing to do and most people really do like being popular… I realize comparing football to soccer and hoops at UA isn’t completely fair, however it makes a point. Caleb wins the national freaking title at UA and then does what? He doesn’t leave UA for a few more bucks or a name school. He heads over seas recruiting like a maniac in an attempt to win it all again. He gives a damn. Dambrot makes the NCAA tournament two of the last three years and there is no inkling that he has any desire to make a few more bucks elsewhere. He gives a damn. Could we make the same argument for football? No way. Let’s dream for a minute that i-Coach goes 11-1 this year, the buckeyes are hit with a 10-year probation, two-dozen three-star recruits begin verballing at UA and then i-Coach gets an offer to coach elsewhere. Sorry folks, he’s gone. So, while the dream was great, unfortunately getting people to really give a damn about UA football may be an even bigger pipe dream.
  6. Great questions. I like guys who are good leaders and help the team succeed in spite of maybe not having the best athletic ability (see how much I like Brett Biggs in football). For basketball, this guy was Dru J. Too small, too skinny, to slow, not a great shooter, but he won and was invaluable to his coach. I know he isn't the greatest player ever, but he deserves a mention in this topic. No Marcel Boyce? ZipsWin! is going to have something to say about that. Thanks GP1. Marcel gets my vote.
  7. The answer is NO. The list is very impressive. I wish UA fans and alums did the same. -But, Columbus isn't two hours away -North Carolinians haven't been brian washed when it comes to college football, so they can and do think for themselves. -Locals and alums have school pride, so they donate. -Most are probably respectful of their school......Ours are too stupid to even know the name of their school, let alone donate. -There are more....too tired to think of them. I'll take a few more season ticket holders....Heck, I'll settle for a few more single game purchasers at this rate...
  8. http://www.foxsportsohio.com/05/26/11/Buck...amp;feedID=3725 A great read....O-Lie-O...
  9. http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/201...ditional_f.html Did anyone see the linked (I hope so) article on Wednesday in the PD? This more than anything else is why I'm such a big fan.... The buckeye beat writer wrote an article explaining why OSU and a some of the bigger BCS schools want to pay players a stipend between $2K and $5K. The idea of paying players is nothing new. I realize that the OSCheaters with their $123 million dollar annual budget can afford to do so. But read just how pompous their asshole, cheating, cover-up AD really is. It's no wonder Smith and Tressel get along. First, Smith rips on the MAC with his "....The reality is that they're not competing with us anyway". Really Geno....Yet you somehow find a way to schedule two MAC games a year.. But we aren't competing with them.... Secondly, the idea of super-conferences was discussed. Ol'Geno thought better than to want to place his buckeyes in a superconference where he might have to play 6 or 8 really hard games a year. In this instance, he wanted status quo...You know, so he can continue to play schedules ranked in the 60's.... Then, instead of taking the hit for his renegade, cheating players selling their memorabilia, ol' Geno believes that the paying of his players is the solution to avoiding NCAA violations and is real the problem in college athletics. Really Geno!! I think you should start taking some responsibility for your dirtbag program and fire the coach and then resign. Let Gordon Geek hang himself.
  10. Just when you think this story is coming to an end, more allegations appear!! Loving every minute of this....And all the honks have to say is, "Well everybody is doing it, so it's no big deal".. What a bunch of morons.......
  11. I would love to go. But I didn't receive an invitation. I wonder if the fans who actually go to the games will get an invite. Or is this based on contribution level?
  12. Where was his UNC lid?
  13. Both teams deserved to be there. However, it was still the worst college hoops game I have ever witnessed. And this includes the games at the JAR where B. Hip was draining threes from all over the court.
  14. At least we get a weather update from the Info with every practice release...
  15. Today is Jim Tressel's kinda day....Don't believe a word he says today... Did you know that April 4 is National Tell-a-Lie Day?
  16. A huge Zips fan once told me, "It's hard to be a Zips fan". It's never been more evident than in this thread. Fans that give a damn can't see practice, videos that give you no real information are posted like they are doing us a big favor, and then we receive the observations of media members- Rasor and Karman, a noted buckeye honk. Why are these clowns allowed into practice? I agree with GP1, while I appreciate a little information on the team, Rasor is a builder. If we have to get worse before we get better, lord help us all. How is getting worse even a possibility? It's the MAC for crying out loud....
  17. Thanks Jim. If I could get into practice to watch, I would post how it was going. It is a big secret at UA...
  18. Also, the fact that they do not have to spend money on a football program is a big help. Imagine, for a moment, if we didn't have a football team. Imagine the money that could be allocated to all of the other sports. Imagine if we had a really good football program. Imagine if we drew 25k every Saturday in the fall. Imagine the excitement that would be instilled in the community and campus. The argument that football drags down the MAC/Zips Basketball is absolutely W-R-O-N-G. BAD football drags down the MAC, and Zips Basketball. Basketball Guy needs to hold UA Athletics accountable for it's bad/atrocious football. Not simply point a finger at football in general. If football isn't winning, and InfoCision isn't packed, someone needs to be held accountable, and something needs to change. UA football is an albatross that is holding UA down. And with the new stadium, and awesome new coaching staff (Tom's choice), the Era of Excuses is over. Under the correct leadership, UA Football could be a gem. For UA to reach it's full athletic potential, it MUST be a gem. We finally have a schedule with six Saturday home games. Unfortunately, we don't have a team that will put 25K butts in the seats. While noble, the idea that anyone is going to pack the Info for every home game with 25K fans is ridiculous...unless you give away the tickets. A few games in the early fall, maybe. Once it gets cold, no way... Most Basketball Guy's at UA don't really care about UA football. They are in c-bus all fall. So they will not be holding anyone accountable.
  19. Actually, I'm sad to see Geno go. I thought he proved to be a good regular season coach, but did not prove anything in the tournament over three seasons. I liked Can't a whole lot better with Geno at the helm than taking a chance that they find a gem of a replacement . Ditto for Coles at MU. I hope he stays there for many more years... If he gravy trained a medioce run into more dough, great for him. There will probably always be an OU gig in the future as long as he doesn't fail miserably.
  20. More lies come to to light...Lies, lies and more lies.....
  21. Kentucky Ale never tasted so good....
  22. Dancing
  23. This explains why everyone got tickets...Many of us will be stuck in the upper level...these same tickets you could probably scalp for 50 cents on the dollars.... Let's see who the "big donors" are and if they actually went to a game at the JAR.
  24. More news.... Herby forced out of c-bus as idiot buckeye fans hassle wife and family because Kirk does not kiss-up enough on national tv. He is relocating to Nashville... LOL
  25. Great! I just realized that THE UA hoops watch party scheduled for 4:30 at the Barley House will be overshadowed by tOSU. I cannot wait to get to see THE medium ten champioship game while getting waited on by a staff decked out in silver and red while we lead up to THE selection show!! Sorry, but this really sucks and we need to find a better venue to celebrate our championship. Surrounded by cheating buckeye fans is not how I envisioned it...
