Just back from BG. What an awesome performance!! Could be the most complete game in the KD era. Best road beatdown I have ever witnessed... When can you say that everyone was fantastic. Nitro was lock down on D and could not miss from distance. Several he tossed up without looking at the rim. Quincy spelled him and was just as good. One rebound he grabbed with his right hand and shot it with his left. Zeke changed 20 shots tonight. Alex drove the lane like crazy and Roberts was great as well behind the arc... Everyone contributed in my kind of game. Nothing like a 40 point lead .... A very enjoyable ride home indeed... Based on that performance, next year we should get to choose if we want to play them in that dump again or in the new arena...

My favorite quote from the ABJ: "On defense, the Zips added four linemen, one linebacker and four backs. We needed the backs because three of our backs from last years' squad have left the program to become jockeys." I, too read the article. What a waste of time. In particular, the two paragraphs referring to Tom Lemmings comments were ridiculous. ''Akron's having an outstanding year. They're doing an excellent job in their area. Rob Ianello is an excellent recruiter,'' said Tom Lemming, an analyst for the CBS College Sports Network and one of the nation's best in his field. ''It's going to take him three or four years to get to the top of the Mid-American Conference, but they're going to do it. ''I was really impressed with the way they went about their recruiting. They really attacked it, beating Bowling Green, Ohio and Toledo to a lot of top players.'' Like Tom Lemming has any clue about UA's recruiting class or the MAC in general. Why were we outstanding, Tom? Is Rob really a great recruiter at UA or did you mean at ND? If it takes 3 or 4 years to get back to the top in the MAC, you really aren't that great... How was he impressed? Then he named three other MAC schools ... Superb analysis, Tom....

Dambrot Quote that I Thought of Several Times Tonight
Zips Win! replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Many folks are to blame. The officials were not the problem on Wednesday. Play some D and maybe those threes don't go in. A bad loss for sure, however there is plenty of talent to get back on track. Buffalo is beatable...even on the road. Just do it!! -

You're right. 3 teams in the top 10 with 2 traditional powers being way down and it's over. I am sure Nebraska will only add to the the downfall. After all, adding another traditionally top 20 team with a lot of history and tradition will only further the downfall. Since you know how the rest of the county thinks of the B10, I think the B10 should just disband and the teams should all join either the MAC, WAC or be independents. Possibly join the Big East or ACC. All of those conferences are obviously superior to the B10. That being said, the names do suck. Answer these questions: 1)How many times has the Big Ten had a winning bowl record in the last 7 years? 2)How many victories do the big 3 (Wisky, OSU, MSU) of the Big Ten have vs current top 25 teams other than each other? 3)What is the entirety of the Big Ten's record vs current top 25 teams (not including eachother)? Read the answers below, or research yourself, and tell me the Big Ten isn't overrated simply because it's the Big Ten. Now I'll admit, I'm one of the biggest Buckeye haters out there, but the numbers don't lie. The media is so far up the Big Ten schools butts that they don't realize their playing style has become obsolete except vs each other. That being said, a friend of mine summed it up perfect when I asked him what he thought of the new division names: "It's because, 'Going to Lose in the Sugar Bowl,' and 'Going to Lose in the Rose Bowl' wouldn't fit on the trophies." Answers if you don't feel like looking it up.... A1) ONCE...last year (4-3). Previous 6 years? 15-28 (.349) A2) ZERO A3) 0-2 (Alabama over Penn State, Missouri over Illinois) You forgot to mention that the medium ten beat up on the MAC in 2010, the medium ten's "signature" OOC victory was versus an 8-4 UCONN team and the SOS of the three medium ten schools were as follows: MSU-65 tosu-68 Wisky-71 Memo to the medium ten- Play somebody!!

It's official, as published to UA students, faculty and staff: "Looking for a place to watch the Men’s Soccer College Cup match tonight? The Department of Student Life will be featuring the match on the big screen in the Student Union Theatre. The first match between North Carolina and Louisville will be on at 8:30 and UA’s match against Michigan begins at approximately 11pm. The Student Union building will lock at 12 midnight per the normal business hour schedule, but we will welcome all visitors already in the facility to stay and watch the match until it concludes. Vending machines will be available for drink options, so feel free to bring in any snacks." Go Zips!

1350AM says Ianello interview "a dead end"

Dude, if it's going to be all buckeye talk on an Akron area radio station, I say bring on national syndication. -
For BZ: Ohio St. president: Football not my arena Ohio State president E. Gordon Gee says in the future, he will stick to running the university and leave comments about college football to the experts. "What do I know about college football? I look like Orville Redenbacher. I have no business talking about college football," he said Wednesday, according to The Columbus Dispatch. More than a week ago, Gee said teams in the major conferences such as the Big Ten and SEC are more deserving to play for the BCS national championship because they play tougher competition every week. "We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor," he said. That didn't go over very well at TCU and Boise State, both of which at the time were hoping to turn undefeated seasons into a case for inclusion in the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game. Boise State (10-1) lost to Nevada (No. 17 BCS, No. AP) last weekend, and is No. 11 BCS, No. 9 AP. TCU is 12-0, and No. 3 in both standings. Observers said Gee's comments fueled the perception that the so-called power conferences suffer from arrogance. It also was noted that according to Jeff Sagarin's computer ratings, Ohio State's strength of schedule, rated No. 64 in college football's top level, was comparable to Boise State (62) and TCU (76). Gee told the Dispatch he has since decided, "I need to keep my mouth closed." "I'm very blessed to have the best athletic director and best football coach in the country," Gee said, the newspaper reported. "They run the athletic program and I run the university, and I should have stayed out of there. What I should do is go over to the surgical suites and get my foot extricated from my mouth." As for the real Little Sisters of the Poor -- a Roman Catholic women's religious order serving the elderly -- Gee said he had reached out to one of the order's homes in Ohio. "I sent a [personal] check to the Mother Superior up there and invited her to a ballgame," he said, according to the report.

Zips Win! replied to zipseuph's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
Until the AD's of the MAC realize this and then stop scheduling the medium ten schools, this will not change. If we get to play as many of these games at home as we do on the road, then I would reconsider. Otherwise, the MAC needs to start scheduling winnable games. -
