Yeah, about that... we were in the student section. Myself and about 20 others were in the top 2-3 rows as we got under the railing and not on of your students stopped us. Also on the other side we had some students that wore coats in that got in without even having their tickets checked. The only thing that stopped more of the AK-ROWDIES from infiltrating was that once one of our girl soccer players showed her Can't friends the shirt when she got there, the ushers started looking for the shirts and not letting anyone in with a blue shirt on. I even had a ticket from a friend of mine at Can't and they wouldn't let me in at the bottom, so I went through the railing instead.Nice try on the failed attempt to keep us out though. You won the battle on the court, but we won the student battle. We out-cheered the 800 of you for the entire game, and the only comeback was a cheer that you had, we already used against you! it's hard to get into games against Miami. They play so slow, almost like women's games. As long as we win i am happy. Just to throw this one out there but I have it on very good authority even as i double checked to make sure that BC was a legitimate shot to come to the bowl in 06. That was shut down after we won the MACC and they backed off of the table. It was going to be a game where we switched with Can't State and brought BC here, Can't would go to NC State and we would actually do a 1 and 1 with BC with us going there in a future game and them coming here in 06.So ToledoRockets, the rumor was true, but as it turns out it will not happen that way afterall. I just wanted to make sure and shut up the troll with his nonsense so he can search around and find something new for us.thanks for playing!

some of what you say is good. some of what you say is not so good. all i can say is that from what i hear, so of the good has alread ybeen discussed and is in the works. that's about all that i can say, but you are on the right track, i'm just not sure you're on the right train.

national respect. pure and simple. we compete against teams like BC and Penn State for recruits and regional recognition. There would be nothing better for our program this year than if we have good showings and prove on a national stage that we are headed in the right direction. That is why we play big-time teams; not becasue we think we will always win them, but we use them as a measuring stick for our program, and hope to squeek one out here and there. As a recruit, being able to play 2 top 25 teams in the same year, BC, Penn State, maybe even in back-to-back weeks is huge.

also, the MAC would not allow Toledo or any school to become a sport specific member of another conference. They would show them out of the house before they would even crack the window.

do you really think that you would get 20,000 for a game that had wind chills at 45 mph of -18 degrees? The field temp at kickoff was almost zero. Maybe i am wrong, but that would be impressive. Secondly, the expectations are where they are because of student body demographics, consistent winning and stadium location. If we continue to go over 500 and improve on that, the new stadium will attract the regulars that are out there now along with (dare I say) students and the ones who are closet Zips fans. There are many people in the area that are alumni that don't come to games because they HATE the facility. They would rather see them play in Cleveland or at Fawcett Stadium in Canton than go to the Rubber Bowl. Lastly, msopher, did Toledo always average 20k when they weren’t use to winning, or did they just always magically show up during a horrific season? Let us build our program one day at a time and since you love the rocket, why don't you just play with your own? Go Zips!

The Department of Athletics is taking as many students as they can on buses to the game for free! All they have to do is register in the ticket office or call 1-888-99-AKRON by Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. to get a free trip to the MACC! Buses leave at noon on Thursday and will come back directly after the game. C'mon students, let's show the support of a MAC champion this Thursday in Detroit! The game is on ESPN, not ESPN 2 or ESPN U, but freaking ESPN! Broadcast in HD where available and is a great opportunity to showcase what our school is all about. Representing our school in the BIGGEST GAME IN HISTORY is what we have to do! It is your mission to go this game and make the University of Akron a staple in major collegiate athletics! Go Zips! ...and as we saw on Thanksgiving
