Interesting seeing as your average attendance for the year is an insignificant 32 people per game higher than ours. Guess Miami is an embarrasment too huh?

Whats the matter Stevey, can't get anyone to talk to you on bbs or hawktalk anymore? Is that why you have to come here and desperatley try to talk smack to us?

Zips get the big win 75-53. Nice to see us not come out flat after the big Can't State game.

Feeling a little under the weather tonight so I decided not to make the walk over to the JAR tonight. Listening to Frenchie and Dunn on the radio though. Zips came out a little flat and were just content to tie it up for a while before pulling away to a 40-25 lead at the half. Western going inside on us and getting a lot of good shots and drawing a few fouls but the zips are red hot from three point land. Futch is out with a sore foot from the Can't game but x-rays are negative for any fractures. Milum, Peterson and even Ryback getting some more minutes. Sounds like KD is wanting to give some of the guys a bit of a rest. Zips playing good bball. Hopefully we don't go into lockdown mode again in the second half.

I posted this on the Can't Smack forum on BBS but it seems like there may be a little bit of a curse to beating the Zips this year. Think about it. Right after OU beat us they went into freefall mode dropping 3 in a row by double digits and eaking out a win at BG in double OT. Clemson has gone 3-8 since winning the San Juan shootout final over us. Louisville is in disarray in the Big East having only won like three games in conference play. Cal has gone 9-5 since we played them early in the season but dropped two of three immediatley after beating us. Probably all just coincidence but it is kinda interesting to think about.

We definitley got screwed on the tv deal on this but I'm not so sure the Friday night game is all bad. We aren't likely to get an at large berth anyways even if we win out b/c well we are from the MAC and the MAC is just the NCAA's shitbox to screw over as they please. Sure we will go into it on two days rest but then we will get four days rest afterwards before heading down the home stretch of the MAC schedule which is where we really need to be strong.

Beanie you may want to distinguish which CJ, Carlton Jackson or Chris Jaquemain. I assume you are meaning Jaquemain but not 100% sure.

Congrats to Ben and it looks great for the MAC but he was not very good in that game with the exception of the hairy call on the running TD and the big third down play. Two interceptions down near the goal line isn't gonna make anyone forget Super Bowl performances by Elway, Montana, Young, Aikman, Brady, or any of the other great QB's who came before them. On top of that that game bored me to tears. I can't ever remember being so uninterested in a Super Bowl. And what in the world was up with Holmgren. His play calling there made Lee Owens look competent.

Yeah, I could definitley see him playing a role on special teams somewhere but he is gonna have to work hard for it. It doesn't help anything for him that he is such a huge freak about his motorcycles. Teams are going to back off of him because of that. And lets face it, once you get past the first two rounds (he isn't getting drafted there) or so then NFL recievers are a dime a dozen.

I hate to say it but I'm really getting the impression that he will likely be an Undrafted Free Agent.

6'6" 280 as a junior in high school and he wants to play TE in college? He could easily be 6'7" 300 or so by the time he reaches the college level and at that point he needs to get in there and play on the line where he could be praticularly dominant on a team like ours.

Yeah, I hope they have security beefed up though cause that game could get ugly real quick.

Not to try and defend Can't fans or anything but the obsceneties were going both was yesterday. The Rowdies were dishing it out just as much as they were. There is definitley a new level of bad blood brewing in this rivalry.

Ok, I'll budge. Here is the low down on what went on.11:45 the Rowdies met in the JAR and were given T-shirts with K3nt State University on them on the inside. On the outside was Can't along with things like read or write, win the wagon wheel, and guard your own student section. We were told that we would be infiltrating the Can't student section. Our cover was that we were from the Can't State Stark County Campus. We headed out about 12:30 on two buses and a caravan of cars and got into the MACC around 1:00. We sat at the top of their student section under the awning and on the one end of general admission chanting things like "Screw the Roo" and "K S U" Playing it up, putting on a good show. We booed when the zips came out, cheered when the flushes came out. They even announced over the PA system something along the lines of "We would like to welcome our visiting friends from the Can't State Stark County campus" It was downright hilarious. So the game starts and the first four minutes we are Can't fans, screaming and cheering wildly for Can't. Then at the first media time out comes a big old "AK" "ROWDIES" and we all start flipping our shirts over to reveal the Can't side. Although I am sure many of their students knew or at least suspected there was still a look of "what the hell is going on here" on many a Can't students face. Their cheering section never really got going again until around midway through the second half when they tied it up. Meanwhile the Rowdies were lighting it up with things like "Why so quiet?" "There's no scoreboard" (If you didn't know their scoreboard is broken) "Fear the Roo" and ofcourse "AK ROWDIES" Only thing that could have made it better was getting out with a win but I am definitley keeping that T-shirt as a momento of the day we infiltrated the Can't State Student Section.

Again, I'm not real knowledgable on basketball but here's my thoughts.-Excellent first half. We had the crowd out of it and it seemed like Can't was at a complete loss for words. Couldn't have hurt when all the students from the "Stark Campus" started chanting AK-ROWDIES.-Came out in the second half and just never figured it out. Cedric and Romeo seemed to be trying to force a lot of shots that just weren't there. Dials was guilty of it too. Very few open shots and we weren't making them when they were there. Hats of to S.U.K. for making the necessary adjustments at halftime.-Refs absolutely blew goat nutz but they did it for both sides so I guess that makes it ok -Preston getting into foul trouble and then Futch tweaking his knee hurt big time. We were already hurting for an inside presence and weren't doin much on defense. Being forced to go with Dials, Joyce, Middleton, Linhart and Romeo for a while definitley didn't help things.-Seemed to be a lot of mental errors. Passes to noone, traveling calls, turnovers. Stuff that I'm not used to seeing much of.And ohh yeah. :macc: See you at the JAR for your payback flusherheads

Not only that but Buffalo actually seems to WANT to get better. Can't says they want to get better but when you hear them say it and look at what they have done it sounds a lot like someone is twisting their arm and saying "tell the nice people you want a better football team." There isn't any real commitment too it.BTW: Cap'n can you get me a link to those senior season stats for their "stud QB" recruit. I gotta see that one for myself.

Gotta agree with Cap'n on this one. I know why JD took the names off the uni's but it does make it damn hard to figure out who is who. Especially when you start getting a backup or two in there that I'm not used to seeing.

Akron goin into hostile territory today locked and loaded. Dambrot and the boys are gonna come out and lay the wood to our dysfunctional little cousin down the road. <-----Zips waving goodbye to their god forsaken campus as we head home with a big fat W.
