Holy crap what just happened? After that debacle in the second against Toledo I couldn't get my head back into the Zips all weekend. I heard we were playing Temple and figured I would check in here and all of a sudden we are beating Temple in OT? Where was that kind of an effort at the Q?

I'll be up there. Planning on getting there early to take advantage of the Winking Lizards deal and then head over to the game. Should be a heck of a game.

Thanks, like I said to zipsbandman last night I wanted to either see Can't knocked out early or I wanted to meet them in the finals. Since you guys won yesterday I'm really rooting for you. Thats a good point that noone has mentioned yet. Ohio and Toledo are both playing their third games of the week and second in a row. Granted we are playing our second in a row too but we had been off since Saturday. I think you may have started to see Toledo hit that wall just a little bit in the second half against NIU. Look for the Zips to come out hot and try to put Toledo away early.

I would have much rather faced NIU but Toledo isn't too bad either. They are hot right now but lets face it the East and praticularly Can't, us, Miami and probably Ohio are all probably better than any team the West has to offer. Some might argue Buffalo too. Toledo is hot right now but they may just have hit a kryptonite wall in the second half against NIU there.

I hate to disagree but I do. Late round and UDFA WR's are a dime a dozen in the NFL and a lot of teams won't waste a pick on a guy on day 2 of the draft when they can get another guy just like him in UDFA. Hixon is by no means going in the third or fourth so we can put that pipe dream to rest. Also teams will shy away from him a little bit unless he is willing to give up the bikes. Noone wants the next Kellen Winslow on their teams even if it is just their KR.

Only thing I really worry about is if we are looking past this team.

Hixon is more than likely an UDFA pickup for someone. I don't see him sitting at home come mini-camps. He would be too valuable to some team looking for a return man and a little depth at WR. Biggs might get a look from someone too but I'm not really sure. Rohr is more than likely not going to cut it in the NFL although I could maybe see someone giving him a look as a safety.

Ummm, excuse me, but it would be nice if this WERE a SEMI-final game. Unfortunately its just a QUARTERFINAL, the first of three required wins before Akron earns its appointment for The Big Dance. And no, we Can't look past the Broncos. They're the only team in the MAC whose coaching is as good as our own -- look out for this team next year, I think the MAC title in 2007 will come down to these two teams -- WMU has the top recruiting class in the league coming.Go BB Zips! They actually beat EMU, not CMU but not too much difference.

Dunno if anyone saw this but Western eeked out a late win over EMU tonight and will be our semi-finals opponent on Thursday.

Browns have also been looking to bring in David Givens in FA. He was scheduled to visit on Friday until the FA period has gotten pushed back twice now.

Dude I've got to say, you need to get your head out of your butt. I would love to know exactley how you guys got onto the floor b/c those of us who didn't were staring straight at a line of security guards and athletic personel who were starring right back at us with that "go ahead and try it, I dare ya" look on their faces.

That is what we are happy about. This MAC Championship was not just some one year wonder thing. WE have good personel running the show all the way from the top to the bottom and this year has been only the tip of the iceberg as to what lies ahead for Akron. Thankyou for making my point.

This guy is by no means a zips supporter in any sense of the word. He belittles the nation on various other boards and he adds nothing productive to the conversations on here. I find his presence quite offensive and could honestly care less if he stays or goes.

They roped us off and kept security guards around us. Most of us were not willing to risk it and I think a lot of us saw that painted people running around with the cheerleaders before the game and at times during the game and figured that they were "allowed to". I for one would have loved to have stormed the court but I also didn't want to get expelled from next weeks games.
