  1. I agree we need to be better. But saying our problems is because of Zeke not living up to expectations, or saying he hasn't made us better is not accurate. I believe if we had pressed more this year we would have won games at Valpo, CSU and against VCU. I think we have the talent to be that kind of team. If we don't get Big Dance wins next year it will be extremely disappointing. This year was mildly disappointing, I hated Ohio beating us, I hated losing to VCU at home, and I hated getting in the NIT and falling flat when we could have made a statement. But this was the end of change. So hopefully they have it all figured out on their style of play next year or we are looking at another disappointing 20 win season.
  2. NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Huh?! What's that you say sonny!!! Zeke's been to the NCAA and won 2 MAC Championships. He continued to be on a team with 20+ win seasons against progressively stronger schedules.
  4. Oh yeah, and we can call it the BPARHPPPB. It could be nicknamed the Razz. Since PPPPBBBBBSSSSSSTTTTTT is pretty much how that acronym would be pronounced.
  5. Ok, but let's make move, so when people want it downtown it can be downtown and when people want it on campus it can be on campus. Even better, it can go to each Zips fan's house knock on the door and say "It's game time baby, get in here!"
  6. I can't support a team...anymore then I already am when its the off season. I definitetly can not support a team....that doesn't support me...rehashing what we need in an arena. So... I say, build it on top of a residence hall that is on top of a parking deck. Bing, bam, boom huge skyline improvement that thing would have to be over 13 stories tall, 5 level deck, 6 floor residence hall, and a 3-4 story arena. With 10-20 elevators to get all the fans in and out of the thing. I think that one out paces even GP1's boondoggle.
  7. They will show up the first time, but if you disappoint them good luck getting them back.
  8. Metamorphisis. Why? Because it was the final breaking out from the old Dambrot way to the knew Dambrot way. Chauncey, Abreu, Marshall, Diggs, Walsh, Tree, and Harney showed the potential they have of running the show. Chauncey gets an A on the final, Marshall showed he can dominate, and Diggs showed killer instinct. If anything that loss last night makes me excited about next year.
  9. The arena would be a catalyst whereever it is built. Just look at the development since canal park and the Info. I have been a proponent of downtown because i feel that is the easiest way to get funding. The arena is a need at this point not a want. However if funding can be had easily with an arena on campus then so be it. As long as it is done right sized so it can be truly used for multiple purposes. We can't afford for it to be used only from october to march. Spin... Being a marketing MBA, i have to disagree with your Polsky comment. I am very proud to show off the Suarez Lab and Taylor Institute, in fact the University is as well since a ton of Development pitches are done in those spaces.
  10. It would be great set up considering you Lock 3 barely a block away and there is going to be increased Lock 4 development for restaurants etc. A key to this is making sure that an arena project on Main St has some form of purpose at street level. Say a restaurant deal like Canal Park has, or shops.
  11. Well that is part of the reason they changed the tournament format. You get the best playing the best, and if you get an upset it is a heck of an upset. I mean the MAC Final Four were both quality games that had good levels of excitement, I wish they both would have been on ESPN 2 instead of STO.
  12. Its a symbiotic relationship. If either failed they would both fail, if either succeed they both succeed.
  13. They are similar in that the city of Akron wants a arena. What I am saying is that since CSU and Cleveland weren't really talking with each other, and the 10 year hang up on actual construction, we could run into a similar problem. If they had went jointly on the project, CSU could be playing at the Q instead of the Wolstein Center. It would be terrible for UA to build something in the 7000 range only to have the City build a 12000 arena for events like hockey and arena football. Both would likely lose in that scenario.
  14. There is a heckuva coach in Athens, if they don't mind bald whiney d-bags.
  15. Yes cause temple was key member, what with their 0 championship appearances and astounding attendance.
  16. He had a key rebound and took a key charge during the period we got our biggest lead. Give it a rest.
  17. All 6 teams in the east and 2 in the west had Temple on their schedule. Moving BG to the East means all 6 Teams in the west now have to fill that whole with a team from the east. and BG likely won't play 6 east opponents, it will go down to 5 with 3 in the west. To balance the schedule to 5 division games for each east team, means the whole schedule will likely be thrown out and redone.
  18. Gun down K-S-U Not very nice thing to say Don't care! Zips kill Can't
  19. How well does the block function work, if you block yourself?
  20. I like Mr. Porrini and want him to be right... "They won't beat us a third time!" That's right Mr. Purina, we won't, because you won't make it to the semis.
  21. LOL My bad, I was reading some of Dave's and X's and when I hit the reply.... Oh well, all apologies X-Man...
  22. Those are some very good thoughts Dave. I would interject though that outside of the Spicer Residence Hall, the bulk of student housing is in the center and southwest corners of campus. Walking from Grant and Exchange (or a 2 minute Roo Bus) to Main St. is probably easier than walking to the JAR. For those living in the honors dorms, etc. The JAR is probably very easy to get to, but a walk to Main St is a covered walk from Wolf Ledges to Main St. As to some of the others about the former Memorial Site, or between the JAR and Buchtel/Spicer. I don't see direct East of the JAR as viable as Delta Gamma and Phi Delta Theta have invested heavily in their buildings there. DG is the oldest existing chapter of the sorority and has a lot of influence. The only issue I would see with Memorial site is that it probably doesn't fit with the campus vision. The idea is to have a wide open view of Buchtel Hall, arenas and stadiums are typically edge of campus locations to ease traffic patterns. Lets remember that students make up an anticipated 20-30% of attendance, the bulk of attendance are alumni and fans.
  23. How can the person who is selected 6th Man of the Year, not make the All MAC team at any level?
