  1. Excellent job by TW. Bowden is just what the doctor ordered for a Zips program that was on its death bed. I'm pumped.
  2. No offense to Green, but honestly, I hope he transfers out and opens up a scholly for us. He just doesn't fit our new-found athletic style. Bring in a JUCO C/5 to back up Zeke. Someone has to leave just to be able to have three scholarships available for next season. KD has been sending Green a message all season with letting the walk ons into the game before him.
  3. Patience grasshopper. All I can do is pass on whats been told to me in the last few minutes. If I'm wrong, I will man up and admit it. I don't think I'm wrong.
  4. From the best source possible. Terry Bowden will be the next head coach.
  5. Dick Tressel?
  6. If the dining is as bad as I felt like it was 30 years ago, I wouldn't consider that a "perk". The food is nothing like it was years ago Skip. When I did a campus tour with my daughter this fall, I was really impressed by the quality and variety of food offered at the dining halls.
  7. Thanks for clearing that up ZW.
  8. Or you never intended to hire Winters anyway.
  9. Abreu looked pretty good walking around for a guy who had knee surgery yesterday. During the post game show KD said he didn't expect Rico back for the VCU game. I hope he's wrong. We did a much better job on turnovers tonite, only committing 9 and forcing 19. Quincy only had one turnover and 7 assists for his best performance at the point to date.
  10. I hope the members of the committee are not the same people who sat on the Coach I committee. Unfortunately, nobody on the committee has probably heard of Ludwig von Mises and the three elements necessary for change. A person must experience all three before making a change. 1. Uneasiness with the current state of affairs. 2. A vision of a better state. 3. A belief that a better state is achievable. Before making Paul an offer, the committe/TW should have known the answers to these points. Was Paul uneasy with his current situation? I would tend to say no based upon the available information because WSU just played for the national championship. Given Paul's age, some discussion with him should have focused on his age and ability to make a leap/take a risk at this point in his life. The older someone gets, the more risk averse they become. Not scoring on point 1 is enough to not close a deal. However, is the vision of a better state UofA football coming off two 1-11 seasons and an Athletic Department with TW at the helm? My personal opinion is no, but others are free to argue. Strikes 1 and 2 now have happened. A belief that a better state is achievable. With TW as the AD? I would say no. It doesn't matter though because Paul was never uneasy with his current situation. Everyone thinks TW should have been able to easily "close the deal" with Paul. Nonsense. Even if TW is a good deal closer, von Mises would tell us there was no way Paul was going to accept the position. The best way to close a deal is to guide a person in a direction that creates points 1,2 and 3 to happen in the mind of the decision maker. That's what the best of the best salesmen do. Make them realize for themselves the change is necessary. Timing has to be right when closing a deal. It wasn't the right time for Paul so the timing was off. I told you guys weeks ago, I should be on the hiring committee. They need someone who understands Ludwig von Mises. Excellent analysis GP1.
  11. What would prevent an assistant from getting hired now?
  12. That might be true if we were talking about a HC from one of the teams making a move up. I just don't see that happening in our circumstances.
  13. One of my sources says he looking for a fresh start. Unless he was somehow involved in a coverup, it would be a good choice for UA.
  14. Record Pub
  15. Bardo was not athletic. Egner is. He is not looking that athletic. That is the problem. Have you ever seen him play in person? He can jump out of the gym. He is playing out of position(Backup Center). He actually has some really nice offensive moves around the basket. Most of the shots he has taken this season have been in garbage time at the end of games.
  16. Not gonna happen. Union Seniority.
  17. I don't blame Winters one bit for deciding to stay put at WSU. Why in the world would he want to start over again? He has things running smoothly at WSU and if he can get similar $$$ from his current job he should stay. Who ever gets the Zips job will have to work 80-100 hrs a week for a couple years. Its a young mans job, not a mid fifties guy who has already turned around one coaches graveyard.
  18. We were up by 37 when KD started subbing on Saturday. What you saw was 7 minutes of garbage time, guys who have very little shot of actually seeing any meaningful minutes looking to put up some stats.
  19. Harney was at the game. I heard he showed up and didn't like the new uniforms he was wearing a dark blue hoodie. Seriously though, I hear he's going to have to sit out a few more games. he was sitting behind the backboard near the zips bench tonight
  20. Your wish is my command. Thanks!
  21. I just read an article and it reminded me of this statement. Bully Boy: The Neocons' Favorite President My favorite part: Yeah, that's the kind of guy our politicians should aspire to. You're right. He was way ahead of his time on many topics. Teddy Roosevelt
  22. Don't you mean the Lions?
  23. Larry Kehres has lost his edge. His son is now the defacto HC and it shows. Ugly performance by UMU.
