  1. CK, All I can say is WHEW! Tonites game was one of those ugly nights where a good team wins in spite of itself. The Zips played their worst game of the season on defense. CMU shot 60% from the field and still lost! A win is a win.
  2. I think that full court inbounds pass was called by the coacing staff. BSU was putting all 5 guys in the frontcourt to try to prevent the inbound pass and they thought Cedric would be wide open for the long ball.
  3. It seemed to me that there were a lot of kids at the BSU game. Was there a special event that day with lots of discounted tickets passed out?
  4. KD satd Linhart was sick all week. Had to take 2 IV bags for dehydration this week.
  5. Check out this link to a story on CBS Sporsline and see what they predict. http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketbal...ort/AKR/9943314
  6. You're right about Taylors position, my bad! My point is that you never know what can happen and its always a good idea to recruit athletes who have speed.
  7. I agree with this to a point. I look at someone like Jason Taylor and he probably STILL plays too high but obviously remains effective. However if this guy's speed is for real, I think we just found ourselves the outside pass rush that has been missing for a while (I don't consider Jermaine Reed piling up his sack stats against Buffalo and the like as constituting a consistent outside rush). Yeah baby!!! Jason Taylor was recruited as a QB.
  8. Hoopla, Nice post. I agree that Dials is a very good defensive player. All KD wants is for the guys to play at full speed the whole time they are on the floor. Cedric is a great spark, but he can be careless with the ball. Did you see Dru yelling at Ced on Wed. for not coming back for the ball?
  9. Hate to say it when you shoot 25 more foul shots than the opposition, but I thought the refs favored Can't if they favored anyone. It looked to me that the Flushers got most of the calls tonite. One ref in particular was all Can't.
  10. The current coach doesn't build a team that needs a 30 point scorer. Any of the main guys can carry the team when needed, but nio one player dominates. I prefer this method.
  11. For me, the difference between the two boils down to this. The more I watch Nate, the more I like him, the more I watched Tarver the less I liked him. Hopefully that statement will still be true in a few years. For me, the difference between the two boils down to this. Derrick Tarver, like him or not, was a go to guy. Nate Linhart is a role player. A good player...but a role player. Tarver had been around the block a few times before his Zips career. He had been kicked out of several highschools and been involved in a few run ins with the police. How old was he when he played here? Alot of being the "Man" at crunch time involves self confidence and Tarver never lacked for that. Give Nate a few more years of maturity and you never know what can happen.
  12. Watch it now, I can't help it we put more people in our "HS Stadium" every week then the Zips. Also can't help it that 21,000 seats and a 35+ loges aren't good enough for you guys. When you have a nicer stadium than us, then you can talk about this stadium stuff and YSU, but right now, YSU>AKRON>Can't State. Eguins, Isn't it time for you to go home? The street lights are on and I hear your mom calling.
  13. Ok, The YSU game is now over. If you guys want to discuss the state of YSU sports DO IT ON YOUR OWN BOARD!
  14. They were "Clickers" for "Cricket"McLaughlin. I still have a couple in the basement. You know the type, made out of metal and fits in the palm of your hand. The noise was pretty loud and annoying.
  15. Are you serious! They could care less about what the paying customer thinks.
  16. They didn't announce it but Marie Antoinette is now in charge of customer relations for the atheletic department.
  17. You have to realize that this is what you get when you deal with a Government agency. There is no motive for profit and no accountability so this is what you get.
  18. That is the perfect stadium! Check out this link to see what I mean. http://www.ellerbebecket.com/portfolio_template_121.htmlThat is exactly what i have envisioned for a long time. The brick facade, the grass end zone and believe it or not a definite "RubberBowl" feel. Look at the phot of the press bow and it kinda reminds me of the RB. In all seriousness that is a fantastic stadium that I think everyone could be proud of.
  19. It was obvious that CJ was not going to play unless Gesty was injured. I was watching him on the sidelines and he spent time practicing holding for place kicks, walking around while the first team O was getting coached between series and calling in the plays when we had the ball. The game was Getsy's to win or lose on senior day.
  20. Skip-Zip, I was there and that was more than 5k in the stands. My guess would be in the 10-12k range of actual bodies in seats. All those empty seats in the reserved sections are probably sold to corporations and are counted towards attendance. Iv'e been sitting in that section for 36 years and its always been like that.
  21. Thanks for the update CK. I've been working like a dog for the last few months and haven't made it to many Zips games and kept up on things. 3:30pm still doesn't help me but at least the correct time is now out there.
  22. I would like to know who thought a 1pm game time on the day after Thanksgiving was a good idea. I will not be able to attend, because like thousands of others , I will be at work on the busiest shopping day of the year. A 7pm start would have been much better. Anyone want a good deal on 9 reserved seats?
  23. Brinson has not taken the SAT/ACT yet.
  24. Ryan Brinson has not taken the SAT/ACT yet. I would compare him to another former Zips Canton McKinley recruit, Antowan Hight. He has alot of talent but will likely not qualify academically.
