Maybe if you posted this in the correct forum, you might get better results. Now onto you "Expert" diagnosis of the team. They are young, they will get better as the season progresses. Take a chill pill already!

Same Old Same Old Good Bye Rubber Bowl

Sorry to be such a downer on the tailgating info. All I can tell you is what I have been told by one who knows. The sattelite photo I posted is a little old now and there has been alot of new development in that area, so things might look a little different now. My understanding is that they are going to park cars on the field itself. I guess you will need a reserved space and some kind of fee will apply. Based on the parking situation, a reserved spot in the tailgate area might be some of the closest parking available.

Only Buchtel Field? For a 30,000 seat stadium they'd limit tailgating to that small area? They couldn't POSSIBLY screw it up this bad. I hope you are misinformed.I checked again this morning and it appears that Buchtel Field will be the Tailgate area. Anywhere else with an open container and you will risk a citation. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=41....mp;t=h&z=17

Anywhere within a 50ft radius of my truck. I know the subject of tailgating is heating up on campus now that Opening Day is only 10 months away. From what I understand, the goal of those "sane" at the University is to have open tailgating in any University lot. This makes the most sense. Limiting tailgating ("tailgating" being defined as a place where you can cook food and have beer in a Solo cup without fear of being arrested) to a confined area(s) would be lame. The more people that want to come on campus and enjoy a Saturday, the better. Hassling them will be an irreversable buzzkill that will deter folks from returning after the stadium honeymoon is over.I've been to scores of college game days throughout the United States. The ONLY ones that have butchered tailgating are Youngstown State and K.e.n.t. YSU severely limited their "tailgate" (see definition above) lots, and charged an inflated price to utilize them. K.e.n.t. arrested their alumni for a couple years in their tailgate lots. I know of several K.e.n.t. fans that used to attend Can't State's homecoming religiously, and who since have sworn to never return to the campus. Having attended the UA/K.e.n.t. game last month, I can say even K.e.n.t.'s administration was smart enough to call off their tailgate Gestapo and let responsible people enjoy their game day. Good for them. YSU? Beats me. I haven't been to a game in about 6 years (went with my mom, who's a YSU alum).I'm sure there will be an elderly UA trustee or two that will fight having open containers on campus 6 days per year. Hopefully someone overrules such narrow-minded clowns. Pretty much every college in North America lets their fans tailgate. Zips fans can handle themselves just as well as tailgating fans from any other region of the United States. Probably better (if we beat Buffalo, I don't see any of us overturning cars on Exchange).CK, I have heard from a very good source at UA that the official Zips tailgate area will be at Buchtel Field. Anywhere else you might have a problem with an open container. I will try and confirm this, but thats what I have been told.

I saw alot of potential at the JAR Thursday, but its going to take a while to get all the pieces to fit together. I think that even though it didn't show against Walsh, Humpty is going to be a great player. He seems to just glide along the floor when pushing the ball up the court. We have three guys who can create their own shot off the dribble in Roberts, Steward and Hitchens. All three seem to be able to just stop and pop from anywhere from the three point line or in the paint. This will be a very different type of team than we've seen in the past few years.

The last time the Dems controlled both houses of congress and the white house was under the Carter administration. The Dems were in control of both the House and Senate from 92-94 onder Clinton. That ushered in the Republican victory in the mid terms.

I tseems that Bill Needle is no longer the voice of the golden flushers. What a shame.LOL http://ncaabbs.com/showthread.php?tid=324131 He always sounded like he was on Valium to me.

I'm afraid if they removed it the seats might collapse!

I've had the good fortune of calling Joe Dunn a friend for more than 20 years now. Joe is a Zips guy all the way. It wouldn't surprise me if Joe did take a swipe at someone he thought was showing disrespect for his Zips. The fact that our broadcast crew are homers is what should be expected, if they weren't I would be worried.

.GP, you really should watch the news every now and then. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true

What do soccer coaches do other than fill out the line up card. It's like being manager of an American League baseball team. There, GP1, I fixed your post for you. I'm sure you are just joking, right? Dissing the best sports program the Zips have is not what you intended, right? Right?

Somebody better tell Brookhart that he might want to figure out a way to win a home game. A nice crowd on a beautiful night and we lay another egg.

It's amazing what a person will do to get back from an injury. If you really wanted to play, you might even try some over the counter meds.

Someone should tell this #@^%&$# that the Zips did win a MAC football championship in 2005. -
I think he may have stubbed his toe!

He's not. Move on. Questions about Bain in 2008 are as useful as one's regarding David Harvey.Barring a miracle, forget about Bain in 2008.Yeah, fine Cap'n, but why? Why does it seem somehow verboten on the board for (1) all of us to ask about the mystery behind Bain's status, and (2) for those who represent themselves as bring "in the loop" to discuss what's going on with the kid. Until there is a sense that we have some clue as to what's going on with Bain, the questions will continue. SeeTeeZipperBain has a "Reactive Stress Fracture" and will likely not play this year. Thats the best I can give you, because thats all I know. Yes, I have a very good source for this info, but this injury is not a simple thing like a sprain or twisted knee.

Just got back home from the game. All I can say is wow, what a disappointment. This game was winable, but questionable calls ruled the day. I'm not just talking about the refs either. What was JD thinking when he ordered a punt block attempt when we had them buried near the goal line? Set up for the return and you get the ball at the 50 at worst. Why do we try to throw a 30 yd pass on 3rd down when all we need is 1yd? The kicking game cost us the game. Igor was awful and Stec wasn't much better. Jones needs to make more fair catches instead of letting the ball bounce off the turf. if 5 plays go our whay, we win.

He is done for the year. It's a miracle that Odofin is going to play at all. He is full of metal rods and other assorted hardware from his accident.

They are spending all their time trying to justify keeping Chris Singletary and Tyree Evans on their BB roster.

All Ray did was leave for a better position. It had nothing to do with his relationship with KD. Ray came here from another program and the nature of these type of positions is transitory to begin with.

Beacon Journal starts clearing out
Hilltopper replied to Dr Z's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
My feelings exactly Go Zips. No more politicising of the news, either towards the right or left. Don't worry though, they are "Ohio's Newspaper" after all. I'm sure all their subscribers in Columbus will carry them through this rough time. -
After reading this, UA coach sees little to cheer, Brookhart unimpressed after closed scrimmage http://www.ohio.com/news/top_stories/27214514.html I'm really starting to question whether JD will survive this season. If you watch the videos posted by Rasor, one might get the impression that JD is seeing the handwriting on the wall concerning his future as HC of the Zips. Lots of negative vibes in those videos and the newspaper stories.
