  1. And EMU shot 27.
  2. New rules foul up Izzo’s schemes for defense I watch a lot of college basketball and its apparent to me that the new rules for defending are really changing the game. If a defender even lays his hand on a player dribbling the ball while moving towards the basket, the result is a foul. Not only that, but it seems it is perfectly acceptable for the offensive player to use his off hand as an arm bar to give himself more space. Now if the player with the ball has his back to the defender contact is still acceptable. IMHO these changes are turning college basketball into a glorified version of AAU summer/rec league ball.
  3. I stumbled across this Facebook page a few weeks ago. Lots interesting photos and comments about the Rubber Bowl. There are even some comments regarding the future of the bowl from its current owner. Enjoy! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1467742330193691/1515242628776994/?notif_t=group_activity
  4. Home: Miami Bowling Green Away: Toledo Can't Buffalo Ohio Looks like WMU and BSU both at home
  5. Saw Cedric Middleton at the Iona game out in Vegas. He still regrets not hitting one of those 2 free throws.
  6. Doug Penno hit the shot that beat us in 2007.
  7. Kelsey Ahbe from Green HS will also be there. She finished second in the NCAA outdoor championships last year for Indiana University. She is trying to qualfy for the Canadian Olympic team. He father Brad holds dual Us/Canadian citizenship.
  8. Expect to see lots of Pat and Big Dog on the floor at the same time. Pat will probably cut into Kwans pt more than Dogs.
  9. Some cupcake. They just knocked off Miami 71_67. The same Miami that only lost by 1 at Dayton.
  10. Thats too bad, you missed a good game. SCSU played a good game and kept the score fairly close during the whole night.
  11. You guys just need to trust KD on using Utomi. He knows what he is doing.
  12. Merry Christmas Scrooge.
  13. I dont know what game you were watching but that was a major throw down. Reggie was about a foot above the rim and timed it perfect. It put a major exclamation point on a great game by the Zips! Iona tried to take the Zips out of their game before it even started. There were several scuffles during the pre-game warmups. One of their guys thought he could intimidate Big Dog amd they had to be seperated by the coaching staffs. Big Dog was named tournament MVP and Noah and Jake were named on the all tourney team with him.
  14. To all Zips fans in Vegas, there is a watch party for the football game at the Grandview lounge located in the South Point Casino at 12:30. Stop and join the rest of us cheering on the Zips!

  16. South Point funds the tournament. Coming here is a great value for the fans. My spacious room is only $50 a night, the airfare was only $277 for a non-stop round trip flight and best of all, cocktails (including top shelf) are only $2!
  17. There were at least 200 Akron fans. Probably 100 for UCSB.
  18. The crowd was mainly fans from the Akron area.
  19. About 150 loyal Zips fans in attendance here. UCSB is no cupcake.
  20. I think the ABJ editors suffer from "Group Think".
  21. Next up, Godwins Law!
  22. Balsy, do really think that a bunch of strong minded business men are just going to be a bunch of "yes men"? Most people who achieved the level of success needed to be considered for the position of trustee at a major institution got there because they know how to make informed, thoughtful decisions. In fact I would say that many may in fact be a "my way or the highway" type.
  23. If the Democrats were in power and had selected their guys on the boards this guy wouldn't be saying anything. If you want to make the selections, win an election. The people have spoken!
