At this point in the season I doubt there is any playing going on outside of official practices. The players schedules are so tight there is very little free time available for pickup games. 2-3 hour practices almost everyday and games every 3-4 days takes its toll on the players bodies. When they get a day off, the last thing they are thinking about is basketball.
In light of your first link, I find it interesting that Bo Boroski hasn't refereed a single game this season. http://statsheet.com/mcb/referees/bo-boroski
Thats exactly right ME87, when you make your donation all you have to do is direct the Department of Development to apply it to the team of your choosing. Btw, the Z-Fund is part of the Department of Development. Alexa Doutt is the director of the Z-Fund and I'm sure she will make sure your funds end up in the right place.
You only need to be a $2500/year donor to get a lot 9 pass. http://www.gozips.com/zfund/benefits/index I donate more than that and my passes are for lot 10. Most of the people I know who sit where I sit are in lot #10 which has reserved spaces.
Any donation made to the Z-fund can be designated to support a specific team. If you decide to donate say $1000 to the mens basketball team, the AD never gets a chance to use it for another purpose.
#4 is going to be this years Jawanza Moore/ Jimmy Conyers. I really liked how KD kept Fire and Ice together on the floor last night when the game was on the line. Those 2 guys are the future of Zips basketball.
Reading ZN.o this season it's obvious that one area they can improve on is the tailgating situation in regards to lot #9. If you could purchase a reserved space for an additional fee on top of what you already pay for parking what would it be worth? With a reserved spot you could show up when it's convenient for you and never have to worry about some Marshall or Can't fan being parked in your spot. If you wanted, you could buy multiple spots. I understand that the athletic department and others at UA want to improve the tailgating experience for Zips fans starting next season. I also know that the powers that be read ZN.o to get a feeling of what the fans want and need to make them happy. If you have other suggestions that I didn't include in my post them here.
KD has openly expressed his desire to upgrade the teams travel arrangements. We could use about $100,000 a year to pay for charters. You can earmark any contributions you make to the Z-Fund for what ever team you support. Have you made your contribution yet for this year? It's tax deductible.
LZip, the team didn't even arrive back at the hotel until after 9 pm on Sunday. There are no commercial flights available directly to State College. I guess they could have flown home to Akron on Monday and bussed to PSU on Tuesday. No additional flights were needed either way. I'm pretty sure ESPN payed our travel expenses for this tournament, so beggars can't be choosets.
PSU charted direct to State College Sunday night and slept in their own beds for 2 nights. Zips were up at 6am Monday for a flight to Philly and had a bus ride from there to State College.
Terry is the good cop. Without the bad cop there last night, I didn't see much passion from the players. KD would have blown a gasket at about the 10 minute mark of the first half.
