  1. Comedy Central? Now I understand where you get your sports IQ.
  2. From what I understand, TW raised a huge stink with the MAC commissioner about how bad our schedule last year hurt our attendance. Thanks TW! No Tuesday or Thursday games!
  3. If Harney and Abreu finish their degrees we will be fine.
  4. I don't think the team is lacking confidence. I would say that as currently comprised , we are lacking in experience at closing out close games. The coaching staff is currently working on finding out who should be on the floor at the end now that Noah is out for the remainder of the season.
  5. Not to mention the game would be played in Jacksonville , essentially a neutral court. 2 out of the 3 Zips ncaa games have been played in their opponents back yard.
  6. Nate Linhart was a go to guy IMHO .
  7. You guys will need to get on the road at about 6am tomorrow , it's about a 5 hour drive to buffalo .
  8. What's even more amazing is the guy he was guarding only scored 18.
  9. Evans hasn't played or practiced at the point guard position all season . I don't think that is going to change anytime soon .
  10. That's not what happened. Everything is good and we need to just not try to analyze every little thing that happens in the heat of the moment.
  11. Nyles was at practice today and is looking forward to playing at Buffalo Tuesday. The coaches have handled the situation and everything is good now. Nyles is a fierce competitor and knows the team really needs him now that Noah is done. I look for him to play well Tuesday.
  12. Noah tore his ACL. He will have surgery in about 3 weeks and should be ready to play next season. No other damage, just the ACL. He is in good spirits and will be on the bench at Buffalo.
  13. I would be willing to wager the mistake was made by the ABJ,not UA marketing.
  14. Anybody have Greg Rockich's phone number ?
  15. The playing of the National Anthem at games being broadcast on live TV is controled by the broadcaster. When TWCSHD is there they have playing the anthem at around the 6 minute mark in the pregame countdown. At that point the team has already finished their first shoot around and are in the locker room for final pregame instructions. They usually re-enter the court at around the 3 minute mark. My only complaint is why can't the pep band arrive a little earlier to play the anthem instead of using the recording .
  16. Lol Autocorrect strikes again!
  17. I can't disagree with most of your post. But the biggest reason IMHO that we haven't moved forward is the lack of funding for the basketball program. All those programs you listed have one common denominator, the fact that they don't field a FBS football team. Several of them don't have football at all. Nor do they have additional womens programs that have to be funded to comply with Title 9. I'll leave it up to DIG to research, but I would bet that most of those programs spend at least twice what we spend on basketball. If we had the budgets they work with we could afford to buy some more home games against better opponents and have better travel arraignments for away games. I would even wager that we would have a nice new arena instead of a new football stadium. We are stuck in the classic case of the chicken and the egg. With out more funding we will never advance and draw more fans. With out more fans we will never have enough funding to advance. I'm really beginning to hate football more and more.
  18. Toledo has played to the level of their competition all season. I expect them to be ready to play on Wednesday.
  19. Josh won't be redshirting.
  20. For us old folks, what the hell is "tinder"?
  21. Some notes about Kwan, the reason he takes so many 3 point shots is because the staff wants him to take them. On most of our offensive sets his job is to play the high post and look to feed the ball to Pat or Big Dog. He rarely crashes the offensive boards because it is his job to get back on defense to prevent easy baskets in transition by the opponent . A good number of his blocks are made in the transition game. I agree that sometimes his shot selection is a little suspect, but overall he neds to keep shooting and playing defense.
  22. Step away from the ledge big fella.
  23. I contracted Epstein-Barr when I was about 28 years old. It took me at least 6 months before I got my energy back. One of the biggest risks when you have the disease is an enlarged spleen. You really don't want to engage in any type of contact sport out of fear of rupturing your spleen.
  24. Jimmy Hall has Mono. I feel bad for the kid. I'm thrilled for the Zips. Can't State basketball loses Jimmy Hall indefinitely with mononucleosis
  25. We only shot 6 free throws and we scored 82 points!
