When I was in highschool an incident like this would have been handled by a meeting with a piece of wood that had nicknames like "The Enforcer" written on it and notches in it from the number of times it was used. Out in the hallway where everyone could hear the effects.

No argument from me about that. A letter of apology and maybe an in school suspension would seem appropriate. But the idea that the kid can just say whatever he wants is wrong.

Q was the starting point guard for the Zips. The other starters were Tree, Pat, Reggie and Nick. Nyles was the starting PG for the other team. The other starters were Big Dog, Kretzer, Khwan and BJ. Tree was a beast as usual. Khwan Cheatam can really shoot from anywhere on the court. Deji got whacked in the back at practice yesterday, he sat this one out.

I agree with the Principle. Free speech is one thing, but making slanderous accusations against the coach and his fellow team mate is out of line. Avery Friedman has been on the wrong side of these cases more than once.

Brad Swanson is the best thing that has ever happened to the marketing department. As I was leaving the JAR yesterday, I overheard Marla Ridenour interviewing him for the story that appeared in today's ABJ. He has a great feel for the demographics of the Akron fan base. He has done a good job of trying to get the students more involved by making them feel part of the program. My fear is that some bigger school is going to see his work and grab him away from us.

I'm pretty sure UA is constrained by NCAA rules from making any kind of announcement until after this season is over. They are both right on target to get their lost year back.

Coach Dambrot announced today that the Zips will be in the field of next years Charleston Classic. This is a great tournament for maximum exposure for our program. Historically this tournament has a good field. When ESPN asked us to go to St. Marys for the Tipp Off game we got this invite as a reward. From a fans point of view it's a great location and timing. November is nice time to be in S Carolina and it's a reasonable drive. Who knows, maybe I'll finally get to meet GP1.

Nate Linhart belongs in the UA trash talking hall of fame. By that point in both of their careers, Singletary hated his guts.

I didn't go there. If you want you could fire off an e-mail to Gregg Bach. He is in charge of producing the show. He was amazed at how closely the fans follow the show. They are definitely interested in feedback from the fans.

It's a possibility you might see a blue and gold helmet. Marketing is open to the idea. Be patient.

No big surprises at media day. The one thing I learned today was the rule changes for this season. The referees are being instructed to call more contact fouls this season. If you are defending your man away from the basket and put your hand on him more than one time to establish a defensive stance you will be called for a foul. KD predicts a lot of long games with lots of fouls called until everyone adjusts. The NCAA is emphasizing offense.

We have played better on the road than at home this season. BSU has too much fire power and too much riding on this game to take a snooze. BSU by more than 10.
