I'm sort of with you on this. But we've lost pretty much every "measuring stick" OOC game we've played dating back to the Huggins days. We've shown well in a few, but never win. A few of the many examples - Huggins lost to Pitt twice. One being at the Coliseum. Dambrot lost all the challenging Bracket Buster games (VCU multiple times, Nevada, Gonzaga etc) Groce has done the same. St Bonaventure last year is a good example...a chance to move up in weight class, and we fell short for the umpteenth time. The Zips annually float in the netherworld between the Horizon and the Missouri Valley. Good mid-major basketball. But not at-large-worthy. I've had season tickets for almost 30 years. I wish it would change. But we are who we are (can we add that to the ongoing cliche list?)

The OOC schedule doesn't really matter anyhow. People need to realized the MAC will never get an at-large tournament bid. The actual season begins in January.

I think we will need to play with more physicality than our opponents.

It would be great to see the Zips play a clean game. No stupid celebration penalties after a score or a sack. No shanked kickoffs or punts No surrendering 95+ yard drives No muffed kickoff or punt returns No letting the opponent drive the length of the field in the closing seconds of the half or game. i can dream, can’t I?

If we win our first game, is it too soon to fret over Groce leaving, and begin speculation on the potential replacement candidates?

Zips are going to get the best effort from every opponent this season. They have a target on their back. Etc.

Any particular reason you omitted his 2 TD’s? Or was it just an honest oversight?

Simmons was a beast today. Hope we keep riding him for the remainder of the season. Congrats to Tahj as well. He’s had every reason to pout or mope, but he was ready when his number was called today. He was great.

Usually we’re tortured until the last second, and lose. It would be great if this was the start of the “win by a little” segment, and the “lose by a little” is over.

Have I just seen the dumbest Zips play of all time? That one dwarfs fielding a punt inside the 5.

I know watching a MAC kicker miss 2 XP’s warms GP1’s heart.

It feels that way because the announcers keep calling the eastern QB Finley. You can rack up a lot of yards when you QB both teams.

The announcers still get confused on which team is which.🤪

And he only scored two tds on those two plays.

Zips D comes through! Could this be the day the Zips turn the corner?

Terrible interception. This is when our defense typically folds and gives up a quick TD.

What soccer recruit with any desire to see the pitch would want to be the 23rd scholarship kid at Ohio State (or anywhere else)? 28 soccer scholarships is insane.

I’ve seen so many losses over the past 6 years. More than any fan should endure by a mile. Can the Zips throw this old guy one bone and win a MAC game? Please?
