  1. He was Teddy Bridgewater's favorite target for a season. Couple of ACL tears pushed him down on Louisville's WR 2-deep, so he'll be in the slot for his senior year with the Zips in 2015. Hope he has a healthy finish to his career. Bio
  2. He will not be playing football for the Zips in 2015. We'll need to wait until next season to see him in action.
  3. If you wait 10-or-so seconds, the full news story appears. At least it did for me. Optional story (again, you need to wait several seconds for the full story to appear) I think it is pretty neat than an NFL legend, who played hundreds of big games throughout his college + pro career, still vividly recalls playing against him in high school over 60 years ago. Great pic. Bevo was still getting the cheerleaders late in life. God Bless 'em:
  4. He could let ZipsNation members select the bottle logo?
  5. Ohio Basketball Legend
  6. If they're bringing in $150k/year per athlete, then good for OSU. OSU athletics is absolutely no drain on the University as a whole. Instead it's is a cash cow. You need to find a new drum to beat to a pulp.
  7. And, scoring fewer points than the opponent.
  8. Good dudes from Akron
  9. No football team? Speaking of research...someone obviously didn't do much of it.
  10. While not a Beer Thread item, perhaps this is of interest for some discriminating Lot 9 tailgater this fall:
  11. Spent a year at Maryland Found in another column: "Jones is also rated as the No. 4 JUCO athlete nationally by 247Sports.com." I would bet a nickel that he ends up at WR.
  12. I wonder what logo will be on the Zips practice helmets this summer?
  13. I hear they're painting the "Z" logo on it tonight.
  14. So what. If a kid can complete his coursework within 4 years, while playing a sport, good for him. That's a real student-athlete. They NCAA should be praising these guys, not trying to create rules to squelch them. 19-out-of-20 of these grad transfers are old guys that are being run-off of their P5 school to free up a scholarship for a younger guy with some upside. It's a great reward for a kid that hits the books to get a chance to see the field in his final year of eligibility.
  15. 3-point stroke looks fine. He seems to finish strong around the rim. That's an area where the 2014-15 Zips struggled. I'll be interesting to see how much he's added to his game over the past 2 years, and how it fares against mid/upper-level D1 college talent.
  16. Is the kid any good? Is he going to absorb Gladden's 8-or-so minutes per game, or is he expected to push the starters for minutes?
  17. The Stout logo Keener used is disgusting. I hate it. It looks like a set of bowling pins! There should only be ONE logo for Stout...a single, glass. Period. It is nice and clean and cannot be misinterpreted. All other stout logos absolutely suck. I am so infuriated by this proposed sickening action, I emailed the President. ZipsWin Emeritus. What I discovered was even more heinous...the President is considering changing the name of our beloved University to...get this...Wisconsin PORTER! I scanned the image below from an internal memo...it shows how serious this really is: You don't believe this could happen? Really? Take a look at the Tweet sent by ZipsWin! only a few minutes ago: I hope our alumni start web sites, and implement hashtags to stop this atrocity.
  18. Did Keener name that University?
  19. The advent of the replay, abused by officials, necessitates a reduction in time outs. The games are not what they were even 3 years ago. There are WAY too many stoppages...even for games banished to the abyss of ESPN3. Sitting with your thumb up your butt watching officials gather around the scorer's table for 5 minutes every time a low-post player holds his nose, or every time a 50/50 "Who's pinky did the ball deflect off?" out-of-bounds review occurs isn't entertaining or relaxing. It sucks. Official reviews, and ESPN's desire to squeeze every possible advertising cent out of every sporting event, necessitates a time-out reduction. These extra stoppages are essentially time-outs anyhow. While the game-minutes have not increased over the past few years, the overall game-time is becoming increasingly bloated and I'm glad it's being addressed.
  20. It was actually my idea...back in 2005. Waddell ran with it. I miss that guy. Great to see Charlie staying involved with the program a little.
  21. Smart move. He can play this season, showcase himself, and then transfer to a D-1 school and play immediately.
  22. Seems like a great place to get stabbed. And for only $20? What a deal!
  23. My Marketing Plan: 1.) Skip the bowl game 2.) Send out a Tweet referencing #TeamOhio 3.) Reap the exposure reward$ without spending a dime
