  1. No 100m State Record Holder runs a 4.49.
  2. A 4.49 40, and he's a 100m State Record Holder? Man, are Ohio kids slow.
  3. Indiana just lost to Ball State. I don't think things are working out well for any Indiana players.
  4. I thought Towson would put up a better fight against K.e.n.t. That scared me a little...I thought K.e.n.t. might actually be mediocre this season. Then the diseased birds laid a big fat egg against a terrible K.entucky team. Spencer Keith has regressed more than any QB in MAC history. Buffalo wins 45-30.
  5. Hope Jayhawk fan is enjoying The Process.
  6. Oh no...the spelling police have another arrest to perform....
  7. Next to correct - The "silent movie" 1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, 3rd Quarter...intros. Cutting down on the commercials and having Coach break down a few plays would be swell too. Could you shoehorn any more commercials in a 30 minute show? Yeah I know..."they need to pay the bills."
  8. People should stand and yell during critical and appropriate times. Some people will stand the entire game, or stand simply to piss the people behind them off. Those people are a-holes. Especially at InfoCision, where 75% of the seats are empty...no one needs to be blocking other fans view of a 2nd and 9 during the 1st quarter. Go to an empty section and stand to your heart's content. Student sections are exempt from the criteria above.
  9. Frenchy said we only have 14 scholarships available for the upcoming class. Is that due to 6-10 non-qualifiers from the 2012 class awaiting scholarships? 14 seems impossibly low.
  10. I watched Friday night's game. It didn't make me want to attend Sunday's game. A 5-0 blowout of St Johns would have made me interested in Sunday night. The Zips need to start filling up the net.
  11. It is sad, but what UA needs to do is create a Bowden Jumbotron video that instructs the crowd why they need to yell their lungs out when the opposing team in in the red zone or facing a critical 3rd down. I think if they ran the video a few times in the appropriate spots, people might start catching-on. It sucks that our fan base is so clueless on their responsibilities of being a 12th man and making things difficult for the away team. But they are.
  12. Most times when someone writes LOL, they really didn't laugh out loud. This line elicited a big belly-laugh from me. Ianello's idea of a great QB was Clayton Moore. Bowden's was Dalton Williams. I'll stop there.
  13. The drive to the lane at the 1:07 mark of the video reminds me of a young CK. Sweet move to the hole...then miss the lay up. Gladden looks like an exciting player. Looking forward to watching his Zips career. After losing Walsh, Gilliam and Diggs, he'll get a lot of PT as a Frosh.
  14. If their money doesn't build a stadium, it's just going to go into some crooked church's bingo fund or a slot machine in Windsor...so I am happy they gave it to InfoCision.
  15. Arkansas, Penn State, Colorado, Kansas, Pitt...these teams are all complete garbage. The deserve to be "Bottom 10." Maybe not for talent, but for the disparity in their football $$ spent vs. the results.
  16. Anyone know where Ianello finished in last year's voting?
  17. I thought they really missed the boat in the initial show when they introduced what was supposed to be a "Game Day Atmosphere" segment. I expected it to be video of Lot 9 and Lot 9A, showing the parties going on, tents, music and the game day excitement. Interviews with fans, etc. That would have been a GREAT thing to show the casual fan, highlighting the party that's going on @ UA on Saturdays. Instead they showed predominately the same game footage shown earlier in the segment, with scant video of the real atmosphere. The segment drug-on about 2 full minutes too long. And the music selection was really lame. A great segment idea was poorly executed. Hope someone wants the show to improve. It won't take much effort to get it to a high level.
  18. Another thing I noticed about Bowden that is really unique is - he has embraced the program, warts and all. When he discusses the recent Zips football history, it's always "We haven't won more than 1 game in each of the past 2 seasons...we haven't had this/that...we...." If you didn't know better you'd think he'd have been the coach during those bad times? I love the fact that he has never said a bad word about the previous staff...nor has he avoided discussion of our problems. His point of view is absolutely perfect for supporters of the program. Honest, realistic, dedicated and optimistic. The guy is 100% a Zip. I think it's awesome. It was interesting to hear Chisholm speak about Bowden last night. "He's a stand up guy," "He'll tell you the truth,"He's always positive and never puts you down," "He really knows football"...it doesn't take an optometrist to read between the lines and see he was comparing his previous season's experience to this one. Everything is going positive, except the wins. And the winning begins Saturday.
  19. 3-9...1-11...1-11...0-2...that equals 5-33. If a Zips fan attended a game over the past 3.2 season, there was an 86% chance that they would witness a loss. So "yes," some form of payment would probably help a little. Free beer is also acceptable currency. You can blame student or fan apathy for the JAR being filled only to 65% capacity on most game days. But blame UA Athletics for InfoCision being filled to 10% capacity. You live by Ianello...you die by Ianello.
  20. I wouldn't worry about it. The Zips will be lucky to draw 6k for this one. The attendance-inflating "Band Day" will make 6k possible...until just after halftime, when they all leave. Son's baseball game means a mid-first quarter arrival for us...I guess I will enjoy my first non-smuggled beer in InfoCision Stadium this week.
  21. For fun, compare our stats from the 2011 game to last Saturday's tilt. While the final scores were relatively close, that's about the only stat that was remotely similar....
  22. Isn't he the same guy that told us "Mark my words....watch out for Bryan Hipsher...that kid has NBA written all over him"?
  23. The team played very well Saturday. Very exciting game. To force OT on a team that was favored to win by 23 points is a HUGE step forward. A QB that can throw 5 TD's in a game? Last season we had one that struggled to throw 5 COMPLETIONS in a game. Zips football is fun once again. 95% of the fans have the Zips backs and are going to be obnoxious on their behalf Saturday. The other 5%? Don't waste your time on them.
  24. This is as much a "must win" as any game the Zips have had in quite a while. No way Bowden loses at home to a 1-AA team. I expect a relatively easy, fun 41-16 Zips victory. What a gauntlet for the following 5 weeks...Tennessee, Miami, BG, OU, NIU...there's not a single gram of glucose or sucrose in the bunch, let alone an entire cupcake.
  25. Hilarious post. Thanks for getting my weekend off to a great start! Somehow I have to believe Kansas can fill some of the time slot on Thursday. Miami Fl is good for a couple hours. Can Bill Muse be referenced for his ground-breaking antics back in the mid-80's, or is that too Akro-centric?
