  1. An embedded function of the board is a delay of new posters responses until they have 5 posts. We approved the guy's post for viewing, but there is an inherent delay before it becomes visible to all.
  2. More Zeke. He's only here for 1.25 more seasons. Time to amp it up. He makes his free throws. No excuses for anything under 28 minutes. Except if the Zips are up by 20+.
  3. +1. He was our "rock" against ORU. Still missed too many bunnies, but who cares...he was relentless.
  4. To the first point - You are correct. Marshall should have played more minutes. He needs to use his 5 fouls every game where the opponent is high-quality. Either that, or we don't win. The Zips can get away with multiple substitutions against crappy MAC competition, but not against upper-tier competition. The Zips left several bullets in their gun when they left Tulsa last night. Because we substituted like we were playing EMU. Sorry about game's end. I'm guessing the Zips missed so many ill-advised 3's down the stretch that we felt the need to make one REALLY ill-advised 3 to compensate. Stupid play. Too bad Morrison graduates. I'd loved to have seen him at the JAR next season. Great game by ORU. You proved you're an NCAA tourney, at-large-quality team. And the Zips proved they're a-notch-below-at-large quality. Positives from the Bracket Buster - K.e.n.t. seems to also have an impressive win streak built upon cupcakes. They haven't gotten better, they've just played worse opponents. Gary Waters' hot air over CSU being at-large quality has officially turned ice cold. Boy is he a crappy February coach. Hopefully KD/McFadden don't schedule CSU for December in 2012. We need them in Feb 2013.
  5. Stream Frenchy on 1350am.
  6. @ JohnnyZip84 - How you doin' today? Ready for the weekend?
  7. That guy can write a sports column.
  8. Temple already does toss the MAC basketball games. Does Temple even have a soccer team? If WVa came begging the MAC for a soccer-only membership, they'd need to float us a couple bones. We don't need them.
  9. I was wondering the same thing. He didn't have his ankle iced or taped at game's end Wednesday, so I have to believe he's good-to-go for tomorrow.
  10. It will be interesting to see which of our two heralded walk on QB's gets the first available scholarship.
  11. Wonder if the MAC wil have a winning record against the Summit League after Saturday? WMU is playing very well, and the Buffalo game should be excellent. SDSU vs. Buffalo ORU vs. Akron NDSU vs. Western Michigan
  12. Wrong McDonald
  13. It formerly connected to Memorial Hall, which was demolished around 1 year ago.
  14. We any of them supposed to be guarding #14 last night?
  15. He slashes/glides to the hole like Q, and has a nice mid-range game too. I've only watched 2 ORU games, but it's easy to tell he's "prime time."
  16. I don't read Ohio.com for the same reason.
  17. Domenique Morrison is a baller. Prime time player...can score from anywhere. It'll be interesting to see how we defend him. Our size will be a big advantage. They have no one to match up with Zeke and Tree. The games I watched last week were horrifically attended. Beautiful arens, but no one there. It'll be interesting to see what type of crowd they get.
  18. If WVa wants to compete in the MAC, they need to toss the conference a couple home-home football and basketball games per year. The MAC doesn't need WVa. WVa would need the MAC.
  19. FIU probably used Joe Bosak too.
  20. Joe Akron Thread
  21. 7-5 got 15k people to drive to Detroit for the Motor City Bowl.
  22. “Until it gets serious, I just have to coach my team and play within the facility we have,” he said. “I don’t think they’re at the serious level of doing something.” That's all I need to know.
  23. Likewise respectfully, the post wasn't about parking, but about decisions made by someone ignorant to the status of the program. Wistersil saw new stadium, new coach...he saw how Minnesotans ate up their new facility and sold it out...and he thought "the cupboard was full" in Akron...he could charge Big10 price$ for Zips football. Then, in came the cream pie. Everyone in Akron saw the pie coming but him. This has all been hashed and re-hashed before. I'll drop it. Real hope is now residing in Akron. It's time for excitement. Go Zips!
  24. Wistercil rolled into town a few years ago, guns-a-blazin', ignorant of the Zips football history, and thought he'd generate a ton of money by charging $5,000 per parking space to those fans desiring the coveted Lot 9. Instead, he spent a lot of time wiping whip cream pie remnants off his face. No one appreciates the energy NZF has brought to the football board more than me, and no one is more excited than me to have Terry Bowden as Zips Football Coach (except NZF), but if you saw the looks on the faces of the handful of Zips fans exiting our final game of 2011...it was like a Death Camp in the parking lot. Vacant stares...player's parents in tears...bad stuff. I think it is important to make sure the new regime is aware of the history. And what they're up against in righting the ship. Otherwise, it plays-out like the pep rally in Fast Times at Ridgemeont High.
  25. Those who do not learn history are condemned to repeat it.
