  1. If they have guys the size of Reggie Keeley and Ivo Baltic, then they have the size to push Zeke around. We need major minutes from Tree to win on Tuesday night.
  2. Maybe on Guitar Hero. But not on the court. Until Zeke decides to take the ball strong to the hole, he is fairly easy to defend. Especially with the bigger bodies he'll see on Tuesday night. All that work he's done on his free throw shooting is worthless if he simply kicks the ball out every time he's fed deep in the paint.
  3. Could be looking for a new coach soon?
  4. Zips go 9 deep. OU is playing their 3rd consecutive game, and it's against a really good, fresh, motivated team. Akron 77 OU 71
  5. Clevelander blew. Only bar food. Too crowded. I can see it being nice for the guy having a couple beers with his buds prior to the game...and that is great. But with a kid...and me wanting something to eat other than greasy fryer food... we will be at the Cadillac Ranch tonight.
  6. Trying to be be a normal guy, while also being a 7-foot tall basketball player, is something not too many people can relate to. My son has hit him up for a couple pictures over the years, and he has always obliged, and with a big smile too. #44 is a great representative for all aspects of being a student athlete, and a great role model for any kid. Very cerebral, humble and genuinely good person. And he loves beating K.e.n.t., too. He's the total package.
  7. K.e.n.t. fans will win any Smack-talk competition because Zips fans have real jobs. K.e.n.t fans can multi-task, talking to Rizzo while ringing up a pack of Marlboros and turning on pump #2. It's not fair.
  8. First time in ZN.o history someone has personally attacked themselves?
  9. As a fan, how can you like less Zips basketball and no Thursday afternoon games? I'm sitting at my desk at lunchtime when, for the past 11 years, I've been drinking a beer in Cleveland watching college hoops. Beyond that, the new format rewards the best overall teams, but penalizes those who may have been the best at the end of the regular season. As a coach, I guess I'd like the automatic bump to a Friday night game, rather than risking a Wednesday/Thursday loss to someone like Toledo. But as a fan, I like more basketball for my Zips. Column
  10. Dave? I consider that a personal attack. What did "X" ever do to you?
  11. Word on the street is the WWE is recruiting #21 as Greg "The Hammer" Valentine's replacement.
  12. WMU. They are proven chokers, and Stainrook looks funny. And it is always fun to watch K.e.n.t. lose.
  13. That would make sense, I guess.
  14. Wonder how this will affect everyone's 2012 football schedules? Do we need to give phone calls to whomever Temple's new BE opponents stiffed in order to put Temple on their 2012 schedule? This late in the game, I don't see many other alternatives. Maybe the MAC schools could pick up 1-AA programs, but paying them to travel to your home stadium would pretty much waste the $500,000 "windfall" everyone just received. I see YSU on our schedule due to the extrodinary circumstances.
  15. Looks like Paninin's may be the near-by fall back? Or maybe a return trip to the Cadillac Ranch...the kids loved the mechanical bull.
  16. He'll be an Oakland Raider in about 4 weeks, not a Zip.
  17. I agree. This year's schedule gave us a chance at an at-large bid, and kept us in the national at-large discussion into late-February. Next season we should have CSU, Marshall, Creighton and Oral Roberts at home. Maybe ORU in 2013-14, but we'll see. Regardless, the neutral court games in Puerto Rico, plus the high-mid-majors @ home, give us a great shot at breaking through the glass ceiling next year. But we still have 5 or 6 games left in 2011-12 before we need to contemplate the distant future.
  18. He also would pick Harney over Q and Tree for 6th Man. Pretty much confirms he saw the Zips once this season...@ BG.
  19. He finished 2nd. Not 13th.
  20. He's hustled his ass off all season. With knee surgery in late-December, he returned to action ahead of schedule so the Zips had a shot at beating VCU...we had absolutely no chance without him. He's a solid 3-point shooter, and always comes up with big steals. Abreu has been been a warrior all season. I've only gained respect for his game as the season's progressed.
  21. I agree. Screw those who poo poo the importance of post season All MAC Tailgating Teams. I'll put our ALL MAC 1st Teamers' up against any of those BCS Tailgating punks with their $500,000 Winnebegos and store-bought corn hole boards!
  22. My advice - Resist temptation and start with 12oz curls. Don't jump straight into the 23 ouncers.
  23. Ziegler and Stainrook 1st Teamers? I bet the 2nd Team would beat the 1st Team in: 9-out-of-10.
