+1 That's what I've come to love about Akron basketball since I came to the university two years ago. Not only do we win, but we do it with high standards unlike that school to the east. But we've never accepted transfers or non-qualifiers before. Now our team is heavy on transfers and non-qualifiers. We now have a higher ceiling, and also potentially a lower basement. Harney and Treadwell had their hands held as they gained their eligibility last season. Maybe one of them took advantage of the help and changed their lifestyle, and one fell back on his old habits once the hand-holding ended? Very disappointing.

League Rule: MAC schools are not permitted to play away games at 1-AA stadiums. YSU will not play the Zips unless it is a home-home. The Zips have offered to host YSU, and YSU has declined. End of story. If this was such a rule, please explain to myself and ALL YSU fans why Ball State is playing an AWAY game at Illinois State (same conference as YSU) in the next two seasons??? We could hire a staff of Knute Rockne, Bear Bryant, Vince Lombardi and Eddie Robinson and we won't be competitive until Year #3. We were down 68-5 to WMU in the 3rd quarter...lost 51-10 to a 3-9 Buffalo team...lost 35-3 to Can't...down 49-0 at the half to Cincinnati...there's no 2-year plan to turn this Program around.

Any clown can hire the most-familiar name they hear. After the name "Tressel," no other "name" carries any weight in Akron Ohio. Pelini? Polian? Bowden? Have all three of them walk through downtown Akron for 10 days, wearing one of those "HELLO MY NAME IS" stickers on their shirt, and see if one person recognizes them.

I never saw an ego with Moorhead. If he was walking through the Rubber Bowl parking lot prior to games, he'd always stop by and shake the hands of the people in our group. At the golf outings, he'd talk to you about recruiting...schemes...whatever you wanted to discuss for as long as you wanted to discuss it. I saw him as 100% ego-free. Is he a great head coach? I'd leave that up to the committee to determine. But as a person, he's a super guy. And his resume' would put him in the Top 5 realistic candidates. He was a major part of some of the biggest wins in our school's D-1 football history.

Unlike Winters, he's schemed against Big East opponents for the past several seasons. We scored a lot of points, and had some of our Program's biggest wins while he was Zips OC. UA did an awesome job with the bus trip. Everything was done right, very well-organized and enjoyable. Treadwell and Abreu couldn't kill the bus trip fun. But they sure made the game suck...

I've never met Ian, but I've seen him at pretty much every UA sporting event I've attended for the past 6(?) years. He's a moster fan. He owed the mistake. If Ian cares, I forgive him. One f-up doesn't define the guy. Q is 1/2 as effective a player at PG as he is on the wing. Having him handle the ball, when he should be cutting and slashing, negates his strengths. Yeah, we need him to play PG because we have no one else. But opponents have to LOVE Q having to deal with breaking the press and distributing the ball rather than him pouring in 20 on a series of cuts and open-look 3's. Like Brett McKnight last year, Abreu's indescretion wasted a player's (Ibitayo) much-needed redshirt season, and is costing us W's too. We are a VERY mortal team without AA at PG.

Wow, Zach. This is a definitive statement. Are you sure? Or do you really mean to say, "The football players have a team meeting scheduled later today. I think it would be really ironic that TW would attempt to fire Brookhart for a secondary rules violation...then hire a guy with the comparatively severe violations Tressel carries.

Is it meaningful to Tressel to salvage his reputation. Yes. Can he accept taking the hit to his lifetime win % that the first 2 seasons at UA would level? Probably. Does he want to coach again? Probably. Does he need big-time money? Probably not. Is Hudson a nice place to live? Yes. I could see him coming to UA.
