  1. "Tom Wistercill", and "wise" in the same sentence?
  2. The Mississippi State game is our potential. The Valpo and Duquesne games are what we are.
  3. Yeah, I remember CK and I arguing about that before the season. So if he played 5 downs per game on defense, instead of 5 downs on offense per game, would our record be any different? We suck. Who cares.
  4. Climb the billboard post and do-it-yourself with a can of spray paint. Better yet, use that big Fear the Roo spotlight and make a simple FIRE IANELLO lens to beam the message upon the campus building walls. Both are cheap and effective.
  5. I forgot all about that. A similar play happened early to Valpo and they awarded them a timeout immediately. That play changed the entire game.
  6. Wow...this time-honored line appears so soon? After game 3 (game 2, if you don't count Hiram...and you shouldn't). And a BCS win? Will it change if we beat Duquesne, Detroit, WVa and CSU? It can't...can it? To quote Ralph Wiggum - "That's unpossible." +1
  7. Eastern Michigan is a great team too...coming from a quality conference <insert good MAC teams that aren't EMU>. We choked. Plenty more games to play, lessons to learn and opportunities for redemption. But we choked tonight.
  8. Nope. We choked. Guys tried to win the game themselves rather than play team ball for the last 4 minutes. That cost us the game. The new guys and the semi-new-guys that are now seen as leaders need to learn from what happened tonight. Then we're fine. If we don't learn from it, then we'll struggle. Not against the MAC West, but against good competition. And in road games.
  9. Did you see Diggs, McClanahan and Abreu finish out? Did you see the shots? Seriously? No points for the final 4 minutes? We choked. Period. I Speak Truth...and it sometimes hurts.
  10. Free throws my butt...the Zips panicked, and choked it away. The bandwagon saw a few drop off tonight. Too bad. Big choke job by the Zips. They had a nice lead, yet they played like they were the ones down 5. No points in the final 4 minutes? Terrible shot selection. Pretty much makes the Duquesne game a "must-win." Hope to see a sense of urgency in that game. It's a long season...blah blah blah...it was a choke. Period. We all saw it. Hope we learn from it.
  11. What a complete scam - Absolutely suck at your job...get fired after 2 seasons...and take $1million from UA over the next 3 seasons to NOT coach the team. I'm in the wrong business.
  12. Few? I'd be happy with one. After last week, I'd settle for a touchdown. Or the week prior. The soccer team continues to match the football team in scoring. Yippee.
  13. Few? I'd be happy with one.
  14. McFadden is still here, and Getsy is gone, so I consider him "post-Getsy."
  15. What I took from this article is that Dambrot can recruit better quarterbacks then Ianello... True. Who can argue that McFadden and McAdams are the two best post-Getsy QB's we've seen on the UA campus?
  16. Lots of people follow Lebron on Twitter. If he's talking-up the Zips, it's a good thing. Love him, hate him, question why he donates little if any money to the Zips Program... all that stuff is irrelevant to the main point. When the most notable pro basketball in the world is tweeting about the Zips - it is a good thing. Period.
  17. Profoundly sad news. Great man. Absolute fixture at the JAR for several years. Thanks for everything, Phil. Your family's presence on the UA campus made it an immeasurably better place.
  18. If the guys can play, you take them in a heartbeat. If they are injured, you don't touch them with a 10-ft scholarship. We don't need anymore 5-star Andrew Johnson's...Marcus Sanders'... etc. cluttering both our roster & IR list simultaneously.
  19. And Detroit will likely be tougher than either of them...
  20. Beat Cleveland State, and get a lot of great exposure on Cleveland news (Sidebar - Does anyone even watch the local news anymore?). Lose to CSU...we'll still get Cleveland news exposure...it just won't be the fun type. HUGE game for the Zips and NE Ohio!
  21. And OU is no slouch either. Fun to see late-90's/early 2000's basketball return to the MAC. Early-season results can always be deceiving...but it looks like the MAC could have it's first legit claim to be a multi-bid NCAA Tourney conference in roughly a decade?
  22. A good friend of mine, and former regular poster in ZN.o, has not posted in over a year because he can't stand your constant negative posts. 100% truth. They don't bug me, but they do others. Just an FYI. I'm glad my post from last year's CSU game made an impact on you. I can't remember it, so I appreciate the recall. See you on December 11th.
  23. So you want to discuss why Rio Grande is on CSU's schedule, on ZipsNation? Please don't.
  24. Last year is last year. How did Joe Paterno look last year? How about Jim Tressel? Last year doesn't mean too much. Rosters are entirely different. Is Steve McNees identical to Brian Walsh? Roberts the same as Gilliam? Bardo for Harney a 1-for-1 swap? If we were tethered to 2011, why even play the 2011-12 season? Just cut-n-paste 2010-12 and start talking about 2013 recruiting? The Zips and CSU are both MUCH better than last year. K.e.n.t. too. The Zips and CSU began their seasons with HUGE wins, not BCS losses. We drew 3,700+ for Hiram. People are on the bandwagon. Akron-CSU will be epic, as long as both teams hold up their end of the bargain and don't lay a couple eggs between now and December 10th. Bookmark this link, and bring it back on December 11th. Well see who's correct.
