ESPNU is the devil. I said it several years ago, and nothing has changed:Regarding watching the MAC on TV -MAC football, at this time, is awful. Akron sucks, K.e.n.t. sucks, EMU sucks, Ball State sucks, Miami sucks...basically every team in the MAC sucks with the exception of CMU and Temple. Teams like BG, OU and NIU have decent records, but only because they play against such pitiful competition. Any of those 3 teams will get smoked by 4 TD's if they play in a bowl game.Akron has taken 2 of the 3 steps necessary to break out of the MAC cesspool and rise to the levels of Temple and CMU. Akron has the training facilities and the stadium. Now they need a coach.A trained monkey should be able to win 6 games in the MAC, considering the laughable annual strength of schedule. Temple spent the money on a coach, and it paid off. But, spending money doesn't guarantee anything. If it did, Notre Dame wouldn't have sucked for the last 20 seasons, the Washington Redskins wouldn't suck, and the New York Mets would win every other World Series.The Zips need a new coaching staff commensurate with a $61million stadium. Then we'll be entertaining to watch on national TV. Until then, we'll just be embarrassing. Temple gave the blueprint. Follow it and win. Or, pray for some success on-the-cheap, follow EMU, and lose.

Or, maybe Niagara isn't that good this season? Blowing a 15 point late game lead still bugs me too. But it is a long season...we'll steal some win in a similar, APSU-like manner this year and all will be right with the world.

McNees has no lack of confidence. If he's 0-9, he's shooting. Most of the other guys refuse to shoot if they start off cold.I think McClanahan is a much better shooter than McNees. If he had McNees' mentality, he'd score a ton more points. And, while McNees can go off at any thime, he's streaky. Sometimes, if his shot isn'y there, I wish he'd back off a little.Puzzling start to the season. I certainly don't have all the answers. You and ZW make solid points. It isn't just one thing or one guy...we're collectively not playing well right now. KD's started off like this in the past...and eventually he figures it out. Hope the light bulb comes on today.

I agree.We miss the assassin-mentality guard. Dials had it. Joyce had it. Those guys weren't perfect, but they had a mentality that I think we're missing.

I'll just watch a replay of last season's Pitt game. It seems like pretty much the same thing.

We've had a D-1 football team for 23 years and we have a combined 1 bowl appearance. We aren't exactly fast-tracking ourselves out of the MAC.I think that we should invoke a law on ZN that no one is allowed to discuss moving to a bigger conference until the Zips both:1.) Win a D1 football bowl game2.) Win an NCAA basketball tournament game

I just think we need to focus on winning the MAC, and going undefeated in the MAC. If we win a game in the NCAA tourney...great. If not, oh well... Nice to see a UA program "built," rather than "building."Nice to see a UA program that can legitimately say they can "think beyond the MAC," rather than saying it with their fingers crossed behind their backs.I heard Gonzaga soccer saying they wanted to be "The Akron of the West."All hail the mighty soccer Zips!

I would avoid Glenville like the plague. Battling 25 other schools for player is insane. It is the most over-recruited school in the nation. The Zips can never win there.Furthermore - We had crap luck with the three Glenville kids we recruited back in JD's first year (0 - 3)...and it always seems I'm reading about some Glenville-schooled collegiate player in the local police blotter.
