  1. I will try to find an "insider" for football information on ZipsNation. It might take me a while, so hang in there. Davis is off the team. I don't know why...but he's gone. He was described to me as "a big project" on signing day a couple years ago. Great size and athletic ability, but very football-raw. Youngstown Rayen is tough school from which to make the jump to college. The kid worked hard to do it, and was actually on the Dean's list at least once. I will find out his story and post it whenever I get the chance. I'm curious too.
  2. Zip Watcher promised me it would be integrated shortly.
  3. So zip37 says "AMEN" to that, huh? Pretty amazing. I though he respected Dennison? To me it reads like a hard bitch slap to the Zips fans who would be interested in what Dennison had to say. If zip37 doesn't give a rat's ass about what Dennison has to say, then I may have to rethink my position too. News f.l.a.s.h. -- There is no one purchasing a book detailing the History of Akron Football that doesn't know Jason Taylor. It is no wonder some people on this board dislike Ohio State fans. How can you not, when they enter and Akron Zips Message Board to throw tantrums towards Akron Zips fans? Someone wrote a book on the history of Akron Zips football, but OSU fan's ego says the target audience for that book doesn't "give a rat's ass what Jim Dennison has to say?" Makes perfect sense. People that buy a book written about University of Akron Football History MUST want to read what Jim Tressel thinks. Not Jim Dennison. Yep.Call Zips fans Morons...crybabies...whatever. You've apparently got some enthusiastic support in high places on Zips Nation when you do so. Knock yourself out.I have 15...20...who knows how many good friends who are also Ohio State fans. Many of them participate on the board. They all respect that this is a Zips fan site. I wish all OSU fans did likewise. I remain disappointed that a book on Akron football History needed to resort to a foreword from an Ohio State coach to sell books. But it isn't my book. If it was, Dennison, Faust or Taylor would probably have been given a pencil and paper for their thoughts. And as I said earlier, I'll probably still buy a copy.I hope the author enjoys the free press they received today.
  4. I'll probably buy a copy. Disappointed to see Jim Tressel wrote the Foreward. Even on a book dedicated to the history of Zips football, Ohio State gets Page 1 coverage.
  5. I I were a Syracuse fan I'd be ecstatic that the new regime is running off all the underachievers. If 30 players need to go, so be it. When you're a Big East program and you're getting drubbed, at home, by middle-of-the-pack MAC teams, it calls for something drastic.
  6. Based upon those prices I think the stadium will be paid-in-full by early November? We've come a long way from the donut guy in the tunnel underneath the Rubber Bowl stands, baby...
  7. If we finish 5th in the MAC East this season, I'll make naked snow angels on the Infocision 50 yard line during halftime of the EMU game.UUUUUuunnZip.......UnZip go the Zippers!
  8. Carr will not see the field for the Zips in 2009.
  9. This guy is very intriguing!
  10. That's the key...... Not only "can the coaches do something with the talent", can the talent come through in critical time of the game. This is what the Zips have been lacking for the past 20 odd years. The success of the season is inversely proportional to the number of times BirdZip uses the term "Crapped Down Their Legs."
  11. "Pulling and offer" has a bad connotation. When I hear that, I think of someone like Dennis Kennedy, whom Ohio State had committed a scholarship to...then yanked it VERY late.I think it is fair that if a kid gets a UA offer, and he says "Nah...I'll think about it", he accepts the risk that the offer may not be there forever. There are only a fixed number of scholarships available, and 5X that amount in offers. The two QB's committed to UA in this class are both excellent athletes. If QB didn't work out for them, I could see them in the secondary...running back...who knows. That said, I doubt we take another QB unless he was a knock-your-socks-off gift from heaven.
  12. Short MSU Coach Q & A
  13. Did you know...that only one of the 2010 commitments has a GPA below 3.0? Expect the number of commits to slow, until about mid-season. The Zips are in the rare position of being selective. Thanks to "The Infocision Effect," a lot of quality kids want to wear the Blue and Gold.
  14. Between the back of the scoreboard and the grass in the endzone seating area...I can't figure out which makes me more ANGRY! :mad_flame:Man...Zips fans sure like to bitch about the most petty, irrelevant stuff. 15. Hey...it's OU. What do you expect?
  16. I have been to numerous Zips football games that didn't have 750 in attendance!
  17. Nice read!Looks like Jerome Royal left the team. If you'd have asked me for my top 3 most-likely-to-leave-the-team players, he'd have been...#1.
