  1. BS celebration call on Scippio.
  2. Is 3rd and 1 any different than 3rd and 21 for the Zips offense?
  3. Is Kato trying to get thrown out?
  4. Thank you for all your recruit updates. They're greatly appreciated by everyone!?
  5. So God's a Kent State fan...who knew? I know absolutely zero regarding the Zips 2020 recruiting mindset, but after what's likely to be an 0-12 season we need mature bodies that can step in right away and play big boy football. There is no time to bring in Freshman...redshirt them...work them into the line up on special teams as a RSFr....and wait 3 years before they make an impact. Redshirting kids is essentially saving them for the next head coach. If I'm Arth, the whole "recruit local kids from NE Ohio" mantra needs to be put on ice for a couple years and we need to get JUCO's and Grad transfers to InfoCision asap. 330/216/440 area codes be damned. If a "stud" local kid wants early playing time that he otherwise wouldn't get at a P5...or even a "Toledo", by all means get him on campus. But every available 2020 scholarship is precious and I can't see spending any on "projects" with "upside." If this sounds like early-era Bowden, it is. He was in the same situation.
  6. Fearless Forecast: #43 Austin Gillespie sees the field for the first time, and rushes for 275 yards and 6 TD's. In the ABJ game column the next day, Gillespie is referred to as Brandon Junk.
  7. Didn’t root hard enough...OU’s rolled up a whopping 66 points on BG with 2:03 remaining in the 3rd quarter! Have we scored 66 points this season?
  8. Hard to spin that one positively... Hope the JUCO RB is a baller, I guess.
  9. More than the $4, it's the time invested to travel down to the JAR in the middle of winter. Coaches and players want the JAR packed with fans. I do too. But it's really tough to justify a weeknight trek down RT 8 to watch uninspired, rec league style basketball against bad competition. Hope the team puts forth a better effort tonight.
  10. Bright spots - Boogie and Alvin playing hard. Not much else... Definitely the worst Akron football team I’ve ever seen. Worse than Faust’s 1-10 team. Hope we get 5 grad transfer OL’s and 5 grad transfer DL’s for 2020.
  11. Wow...that was the play call of an 0-9 team.
  12. Trevor Brown moved to RT. It will be nice to have that side adequately covered for the first time all year.
  13. Love that Boogie is back to returning punts. I felt Arth gave up on him too soon after he botched a couple early season opportunities.
  14. Fearless Forecast: Zips attempt their first fake kick/punt of the season.
  15. I have PS Vue. I love it for the sports package. As of right now I haven’t found an equivalent. Sorta sucks.
  16. Maybe if Kato were the QB we would have won. But I guarantee that if JoJo Natson wouldn't have dropped that easy TD pass, we would have won.
  17. How do you feel about dropping to 1-AA?
  18. I will disagree with you on this point. There are some people who abuse their privilege of posting on ZipsNation. Just because someone has the ability to repeatedly type the same diatribe doesn't mean it's ok. It's disrespectful to the other members, and it makes for a lousy discussion forum. It also drives the interesting/thoughtful people away, because they don't feel like being cyber-hassled by someone with nothing to say and all day to type it. If you ever begin a post - "I've said this many times before, but I'm going to say it again..."... you shouldn't post it. I promise everyone read it the first 35 times.
  19. I think you’ll be able to say that for every match as we progress through what’s left on the slate.
  20. Faust recruited Jason Taylor.
  21. Even a blind black squirrel finds an acorn...
  22. The difference in the game has been the same story all season - bad OL play, and a non-existent pass rush. Every game, I marvel at the time the opposing QB has to throw...and the size of the pocket he throws from...compared to that of the Zips . On the season, we have 4 sacks for 17 yards. Our opponents - 31 sacks for 163 yards. That's amazing. I liked Gibson's arm strength. I liked how, under duress, he constantly looked down field, trying to make something happen. Like Loyal Zip said, he needs to protect the ball better. And he will. For a true Freshman, running for his life, in his first start, he did a great job. Just when you think we found a starting RB, he injures his shoulder after an 8 yard gain. We convert on 33% of our 3rd downs. Our opponents are at 50%. We've lost 10 fumbles. Our opponents have lost 2. Just tough to watch...
  23. Looks like we might have a new QB today??
