  1. Who’s worse, the refs or the play by play guy?
  2. Once again, clueless announcers.
  3. To balance things out, do you bring in potentially the two worst D-1 football programs in the nation in UMass and UConn? I'd expect the MAC to be happy with its present membership. There's no need to add conference boat anchors. And there's no way UConn allows their hoops team to go on the road and play in MAC arenas as compensation us accommodating their football program.
  4. What makes you think Duquesne has a better chance of receiving an A-10 at-large than Akron does winning the MAC?
  5. I would say Akron's chance of being in the NCAA tourney is much better than Duquesne's.
  6. I think the YSU game Marketing theme should be "Rubber Bowl Revisited!" We haven't played YSU since the early 90's at the Bowl. The venue was well know those in Mahoning County. Get $10 tickets using the promo Code "Rubber Bowl". I think painting the grass area in the Info endzone to match the old Rubber Bowl cement lettering would look cool. Players wear the Moving A helmets. Let people tailgate in the grass inside the Jackson Field track. Lots of fun stuff you could do with the idea. I predict Joe Akron would show if it were done right. Paul Penguin too.?
  7. Losers of three of their last 5, the 17-win Dukes should have no problem reaching 19 wins, with upcoming games against conference dregs Fordham and GW. They played well against Dayton (4-point loss), and old friend Tavain Dunn-Martin poured in 25 in a loss to St Bonaventure. They certainly have Saint Louis' number.
  8. Possibility, or probability? LCJ is great...but he's a eminently more guardable if he's our only perimeter threat. But I'll enjoy this ride, and worry about next season once April rolls around. ?
  9. LCJ, Banks and Cheese all made substantial improvements in their shooting percentages this year. I have to believe Tribble, Dawson and Ali will be much improved in 2020-21. And hopefully elevating to "dangerous" in 2021-22. Ali reminds me of Deji Ibitayo. Athletic, raw and skinny. Deji was a frustrating shooter his first 2 seasons, and had great Junior and Senior campaigns behind the arc. Somebody is going to need to drain 3's after the Big 4 are gone. That has to be a huge point of emphasis for Groce in the coming off-season.
  10. Tribble probably played his best game last night. He was assertive on the offensive and and played solid D. Missed a couple layups, and had a wide open 3-footer in the paint that he passed out of, but overall he made some positive steps last night. Ali does use his length well on the defensive side of the ball. He's a hustler. Dawson pulled down a nice rebound at a critical point last night, and works hard on D. He gets a tiny bit better every game. Our Big 4 need to score the ball on offense, so the freshman's/bench's role is pretty much to defend as hard as possible during their limited minutes. But it would be a big help if they could start draining a couple shots as we approach March.
  11. Konata Waited for a Pitt Offer that Never Came?
  12. Marquell Cook Hudl (RB/CB Buchtel HS, 5' 9", 165 lb) The Fastest Kid in Akron - 201 Yards vs. McKinley
  13. Need more out of X than he’s given thus far. Where is the Xfactor?
  14. Welcome to the game, X!
  15. Tribble can’t be afraid to shoot 2-footers.
  16. Be nice if Shaq Sayles made an appearance tonight.
  17. That picture reminded me - I thought the refs on Tuesday night did a really nice job. Yeah, the botched a couple calls...but they didn't make the incessant ticky-tack calls. The game had a nice flow.
  18. Tip was a bad man in the low post. Team Captain to boot! Source
  19. It was probably me that wrote it. ? I think Utomi's departure allowed Cheese and Banks to flourish. It helped us play the up-tempo, "Groce style of play." But you're right, having him in the rotation instead of the "Freshman 3" would be a huge upgrade.
  20. Are the Zips struggling, or simply playing better competition? And maybe wearing down a little as we grind into February? I remain amazed at what little our bench brings to the stat sheet. If I was one of those people that can't enjoy the present because they're worried about next year, I'd have an ulcer. Our "Big 4" will continue to shoulder a heavy heavy load through the remainder of the season. How long can they hold up? Hopefully through late March.?
  21. 83-76 Zips. Zips' non big man bench combines for 5 points. Hope I'm right on #1, and wrong on #2.
  22. Offered by William and Mary. PWO offer from Pitt.
  23. I thought the same thing. Lots of yards-after-catch. Balance...speed
