lol we wish it were like that... but Steve released the ball with around 3 seconds leftYeah, I guess it does take a couple of seconds for the ball to travel as far as it had to once it left his hands. What IS it with the clock handler at The Q??? Aren't the refs controlling that now? Are MAC refs bad at that too?
-
WHOOPS!!!! I HATE when that happens! Just watched the replay of Higgins 3 with 6 seconds left in the first overtime on DVR. On the Akron inbounds, the clock does NOT start for a full second after McNeese touches the ball. Not at all sure McNeese's shot would have counted without it. Karma.

It's on FSN ALTERNATE (310 here in the Akron area; 309 is regular FSN. We're watching it. It's also on channelsurfing.net.

Singletary fouls out w/2:49 to go.Bassett 16-for-16 at the line and OU up by 12. 74-62. 2:07 to go.Love it!

Singletary has four fouls and should have gotten his fifth on a charge into KVK. KVK just got called for ANOTHER block that looked like a charge by Singletary. Unreal.MAC refs totally suck.

I'd have to suggest that things have improved about 1000% over the Hipsher era. But there is still some work to be done, starting this weekend. There is just one chance for this team to redeem this season. They need senior leadership. They need their "stars" to be as motivated as their opponent's stars. Attitude is right Dave. That is a problem with this team, and it starts at the top. I haven't heard anyone take responsibility. Forget blame, whose willing to take some leadership? There is no senior leadership. Conyers plays like a leader but he doesn't act like one. McKnight seems to have disappeared off the map. Neither are verbal on the court, directing things like an experienced leader should.Ceniors or See Ya's? Come on CMcKnight and Conyers - time to step up and take charge beginning Thursday afternoon.

I believe that F.S.OH is going to carry all 4 on Thursday. Not 100% sure though.Just checked TVGuide.com and they show the Metro Atlantic quarterfinal at noon on Thursday. STO has Padres/Indians minor league baseball. Gets no better at 7PM ... Blue Jacket hockey on FSN and HS sports/Bucknut Blitz/Bowling on STO. I'm able to make the afternoon games but don't intend to stay for the evening matches. Bummer! Channelsurfing.net I wonder?

From GoZips.com ...Nagbe Nets Hat Trick in Exhibition OpenerCourtesy: Akron Media Relations Release: 03/07/2010CLEVELAND – Fueled by a hat trick from Darlington Nagbe, the University of Akron men's soccer team rolled to a 4-1 victory at Cleveland State Sunday at Krenzler Field. I'm sorry I made the drive to Akron tonight....

Wife just made some Mac-n-Cheese. That should get me back on track.Put some bacon in it too......I just mowed the grass. Feeling better. The snow is melting today and I'm starting to SEE the grass. Feeling better. -
Can't headed to Buffalo a few weeks ago and looked T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E pretty much the entire 40 minutes against the Bulls. If they're anything close to that one of two nights at the Q and Miami, BG, Buffalo or OU is on their game, Can't could very easily be off to the NIT and ...

As crapping down one's leg is to blowing a big lead, then 'Craptastic!' is a suitable way to describe our quality of play last night. Can't is the superior team but our shooting and shot selection were pathetic as were our drive and determination to stop Can't inside.A shame that we finally fill our building, play in the national spotlight on ESPN, and were not able to bring any more to the table than we did. Craptastic. -
It was very disappointing, and at this point I don't think we have a chance. We do great against DIV II and weak Western Div teams. Big deal, that's not going to get us anyplace. But I must say, the shot selection was just so disappointing.Zips are clearly better than anyone else in the MAC except Can't ...and OU. Can I request a "Choke-job" emoticon?Akron is vastly better than Ohio. Now you're going Charlie Coles on us OZoner!
-
As French just said, we went 4-3 down the stretch last year and ran the table in the tourney. We're on the weaker side of the bracket (the MAC West).HOPEFULLY we got our crapfest out of the way. Costs me a day of vacation now and I'm not too happy about that. Will save $$$ since the kids are both in school and/or have after-school responsibilities they can't miss. Will be there and hopefully will have stopped holding my nose by then. Wow - what a disappointing evening tonight.

I disagree. What you described is how we have been winning, true. What I described is how I want to win. I think our potential to become a better/dangerous team exists with my "formula" This formula is dependent upon Zeke staying out of foul trouble. I think when he learns that, he will become offensively dynamic. Once that happens Steve is going to see a lot of open spot up 3's. IMO that is a deadly combination.Zeke will be a big part of us winning on the offensive end of the floor in the coming years, but he isn't there right now. For tonight's game, and for the big games next week we need to stick with what our strength is now. Tonight isn't the night to try to force him into being the offensive threat we want him to become eventually.Zeke will score in double digits tonight with 2 monster dunks, a hook and the rest coming on free throws.... assuming he stays away from the silly fouls he's been prone to get by reaching in or especially over. He's also gotten a bunch he probably hasn't deserved courtesy of the clowns who are MAC refs.Same applies to you, Nik! Control the emotion and don't pick up a bunch of silly fouls that puts your butt on the bench.

This is what I'm afraid of Friday night. I agree with French ... Can't is better than we are athletically. Let's hope they bring the same team to Akron that they took to Buffalo a couple of weeks ago.

That plus his strut....Everywhere I've seen him: at a Browns practice, at the Q, at the JAR and even last Wednesday at BW's after the UB game. Strutting around like he owned the place. The bar had a nice crowd and nobody even recognized him....... HOW did I leave out The Strut?!? Thank you.

I definitely welcome the additional UA exposure Reghi doing his show from Akron would bring. That's about where it stops for me.I've NEVER seen anyone primp himself like Reghi does - GIVE IT A REST! Ever watch the guy as he's about to go on camera? He's always messing with SOMETHING - hair, shirt sleeves, suit jacket, pocket square. I about when I saw him do an urban handshake and chest bump with McNeese the other night. He fist bumped his producer a couple of times just for good measure. A real piece of work. Would LOVE to know who the REAL Michael Reghi is - not the cool-talkin', contrived version we get to see on and off camera or hear on the radio.OK, I'm done know.
