Actually .. can't you have troughs AND have a clean, heated restroom?I've always felt that troughs made for a more efficient men's room .. from a throughput perspective.Ah yes ... a lazy yellow river with cigarette butts sailing calmly and serenely by ... kinda like the Cuyahoga River during the hottest part of the summer.Seems like a 'Trough' topic should be created and pinned ...

It is my hope that UA had the foresight to plan for appropriate waste reuse and disposal as a reflection of our responsibility to be good stewards of Earth's resources. I also hope they didn't get left coast silly and go over the top with it. The day a 'carbon offset' fee shows up as a line item on my season tickets is the day I cancel them.As always, looking forward to September! Love watching things progress on the web cams. Go Zips!

Right there with ya buddy. Didn't do much against St. Francis either. Come on KD, let us see Steve a little more!

Be cautious of what you wish for. Waters is the best college coach in NE Ohio and he can recruit better players at CSU because of their laughable academic standards.....and when I say laughable, I mean side splitting laughter or even liquid shooting out of your nose laughter. We may want to duck them while he is there. After all, we are "building" a program here (for how long now? will we beat the completion of the bridge to China?) through beating teams we should easily beat and losing to good teams. I'm not sure how all of that works, but I read on the board we are "building" it. Now that CSU is good, we may not want to break that formula. Keep the cupcakes coming....I guess. For those of you who have season tickets, I'll say it for you...... Let's see some results from all of this "building".....this year.I just can't figure out why Waters hasn't scheduled Akron in the three years he's been at CSU. If the next game is to be played at Akron (it is), then man up and schedule a game at Akron. Would love to know if there's anything more to it than wanting the next game in Cleveland. I sent Waters an e-mail last year asking why he hasn't scheduled Akron. A reply I got from one of his assistants suggested they didn't feel they were ready for Akron at their current stage of developing the CSU program. Seems like a load of BS to me. What's the real reason you won't come to Akron Waters?I'd GLADLY welcome a game against CSU over an Urbana or St. Francis (NY or PA), regardless of who the coach is or how good they are. If we get beat, we get beat. Give me a Miami-type schedule any day over some of the cupcakes we schedule. More filling and fewer empty calories. Come on Waters, get the burr out of your saddle and start the series up again.

LOVE IT! Glad I checked the board real quick before heading to bed. Gary Waters is a jerk for not scheduling Akron (should be an automatic game every year; afraid of a beat-down yourself Waters?). That takes a back seat if his team or anyone else beats the crap out of Can't. ... good night all!

Moderator - PLEASE remove the punch card. That's obscene! No way I would have completed my computer science degree if I had had more than one semester using those things! Also wouldn't have finished it if I hadn't figured out a way to avoid Dr. Margush. Had him for my very first computer course and it's the only class I ever dropped while at UA (I think all of three people in my class DIDN'T drop it!).Good luck and enjoy your UA experience! I enjoyed my computer science courses and instructors and have been in IT the last 20 years!

I like our young Zips. Crap first half but never gave up. Maynor was obviously the difference. Yet ANOTHER "close but no cigar" but the next 4-1/2 years are going to be a lot of fun. Marquee wins are on the horizon.

V-E-R-Y choppy! Just about ready to bag it and go back to Frenchie and Dunn.

I guess you are not counting the banner at JAR that says 1998 MAC East ChampionsI'm not a fan of the JUCO route. Have my fingers crossed that we can develop the right mix of character, talent, and experience going the 4-year route. That being said, our banners are too far and few in between.

Can someone please explain to me why they sang the CANADIAN national anthem before the game tonight? They sang the US anthem afterwards but Niagara is IN the US for crying out loud. I understand you can spit and hit Canada but still!

Is that supposed to be a knock on gay people or just liberal people?Pretty sure it was a knock on Chicago politics people i.e. the end justifies the means i.e. dishonest as all hel ... heck. -

No surprise that it didnt happen. It's no San Francisco, but I wouldnt exactly call Chicago the center of morality in America. Though at least someone took notice here that we got shafted .Yeah, I know. That was my "In a perfect world ..." post for the day. -

SO very easy for NWU officials (President, athletic director, head soccer coach) to put themselves into Akron's shoes ..."Do Unto Others ..."Would love to know how the NCAA soccer committee would have responded if the President of NWU, athletic director and/or the soccer coach told them "Absolutely not! We're not going to host the game. Work with Akron and find a suitable location in the Akron area. We wouldn't want our hard-earned home field advantage taken away from us and we're not going to do that to Akron."Doing things right (abide by rules/regulations/guidelines as currently written) or doing right things (protect seeding/right to home field)? Thank you NCAA and NWU for putting your best interests first ... -

Wow. Very poor numbers against a pretty bad team. Who's dropping the ball when it comes to coaching up attitude? Boals? KD? Good rebounders seem to have an attitude ... they WANT it and go after it time and time again. Bardo may be changing a shot here and there BUT what does it matter if our opponents are getting 2nd and 3rd chances each time down the court? Bardo also isn't giving us anything on offense either.Swiech didn't seem to produce many numbers in his 4 minutes last night but I'd still like to see KD work him in a little more frequently. How can you do much worse than 0 points, 0 rebounds, 1 assist, and 5 fouls in 12 minutes??? Swiech is more imposing to me than Bardo.

When it's not cold, windy, and snowy, here's what NWU's Lakeside Field looks like ...NWU Lakeside FieldIF the NCAA decides to postpone the match tomorrow, it sure would be nice to get word as early as possible to save us and UA the time and expense of sending three buses west into a storm on Thanksgiving Weekend Sunday (think we'll experience just a LITTLE bit of traffic on the turnpike?!).

Thank you NCAA / UA athletic department
GoZips88 replied to Balki Bartokomous's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
I think whats stands out more about that statement is that we brought 3 buses of students to OSU when they had to entice students to come to a home soccer game. So much for the Big10 having a dedicated fanbase. I cannot wait to see the look on people's eyes at Northwestern when we have 2 (maybe even 3) buses of fans/students show up and take over their stadium. This is going to be a ton of funWord is, there will be three buses. 1 for fans, 2 for students.Great move by UA to add a third bus if that many students showed interest in going.Regarding Lee Jackson ... I wonder how well it would hold up to the rain that expected beginning any time after 9AM tomorrow? My guess is it wouldn't take too much to make it pretty sloppy/soggy/torn up again. I'm not saying this to justify the decision to move the match. I'm saying it more to say our luck just sucks right now. Hopefully we take care of business and get a shot at one more home game before heading to Texas.See many of you tomorrow morning at the JAR EARLY !!! -

Bus trip details now available
GoZips88 replied to GoZips88's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
I've got a phone call and e-mail in to Chad for two non-student tix. VERY cool UA is covering the cost of the bus. Looking forward to it but it WILL be a VERY long day. Extra batteries for the MP3 player and a book are in order.I wonder if there is any way to get the UA basketball game on satellite radio for the return trip home? They'll be playing Eastern Kentucky I believe.
