I really don't know, but just speculating: I'm sure TB knows a lot of the coaches in CUSA since it's a big fraternity, and probably a lot of AD's as well. His major role would have to be touting our football facilities and convincing CUSA powers-that-be how, when, and why our football program is on the rise and how that would be accelerated by joining CUSA. The AD could do most of the pimping of our other sports.

Do it. We can recruit better if the student athletes know they will be traveling to Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Texas instead of within the rust belt. Better soccer. Better football/baseball weather (although baseball would no longer be required). Multiple big dance bids. Broader exposure for our brand. With or without other MACsters.

Mack Rhoades to hire a new football coach at Houston. I don't think this counts as a hiring screw-up by Mack since Levine was already on staff and promoted to interim HC when Sumlin went to TAM. I just realized this was their first season in the house that MR built. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TDECU_Stadium

Works for me. CUSA North: Toledo, UA, Ohio, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky.

I can't imagine the Big 12 won't expand now that the lack of a CCG cost them a playoff spot. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2014/12/7/7347577/tcu-baylor-college-football-playoff-big-12-expansion Unless NCAA changes the CCG rules (whenever that might happen).

More nourishment for the rumor monster: http://www.courant.com/sports/uconn-mens-basketball-blog/hc-uconn-huskies-conference-realignment-woes-could-continue-if-cincinnati-memphis-leave-american-athlet-20141205-story.html

Another possible scenario is if the Big 12 expands in order to have a conference championship football game, the trickle-down effects could mean that CUSA needs several new members, not just one to replace UAB.

O-Line.

Was this an ESPN3 feed? Does ESPN have anything to do with producing the feed?

My question: If the continuation of apathetic current UA students was put up for a vote by Zips fans, ...yay or nay? (I vote nay)

I think I feel worst for the alumni. The players at least can finish out somewhere else and have an ongoing football program to associate with. The existing alumni (who were fans) will no longer be able to go to a football game of their alma mater and are bitter toward the big brother school/trustees. I guess they will become Auburn fans. A good article with lots of MAC references: http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/20141203_With_costs_spiraling_up_a_college_tosses_out_football.html?id=284622931 Other Possibilities: Northern Illinois Rumors are the Huskies are quite unhappy with the MAC, and along with Ohio might be looking to leave. http://www.underdogdynasty.com/2014/12/3/7327255/uab-football-fallout-who-replaces-the-blazers-in-conference-usa

Breaking down the potential UAB transfershttps://medium.com/@andrewrivins/breaking-down-the-potential-uab-transfers-5b8268ebaae3

I'm sure TW put in a good word for him.

He'll be back sooner than later.

Some way-random and premature speculation about UAB fallout and CUSA looking at Ohio MAC schools: http://www.csnbbs.com/thread-716152.html

Again, no questioning of the coach(es) for any explanations...is he afraid to talk to TB?

I believe Urban Meyer could have (BG). Brian Kelly probably could have (CMU). Jerry Kill possibly (NIU). They won at other MAC schools, you think they would have fallen flat at Akron?

http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/30/us/ohio-state-player-dead/index.html More bad concussion news..

UAB: Bill Clark stated this morning that he believes the administration is going to shut down their football program (h/t Joe Schad). “Unless something changes before the weekend ends, I think the odds are very high it ends this week.” Completely unacceptable UAB. Completely unacceptable.

Lady Zips opened up a 20 point 2nd half lead 61-41. Siena fighting back now.

I'm more concerned about the makeup of the coaching staff for next year before I start worrying about any of the player personnel issues. I'm sure we will hear something soon.

Defenses had too much vittles and moonshine yesterday, apparently.

Running the ball opens up the offense in football. Pounding the ball inside opens up the offense in basketball.

Come on, now. Everyone knows IMHO. "I Am Not A..." is also very commonly abbreviated and the rest of it is obvious from the context. I can't believe anyone would want to waste server space and keystrokes spelling everything out, I mean WTH?
