  1. Dude can move and shoot a lil bit....is there any way he gets considered as a power forward? To wit: Then there is Oklahoma City power forward Serge Ibaka. When the Seattle Sonics drafted him 24th in 2008, Ibaka was purely a defensive force and shot-blocker. In just four seasons, he has morphed into one of basketball's most efficient mid-range shooters and an elite pick-and-pop option for point guard Russell Westbrook. In the pivotal 10- to 15-foot range, Ibaka has improved his shooting percentage from 25.6 percent last season to 55.6 percent this season (per Hoopdata.com). Ibaka, still just 23 years old, has also maintained a presence as a premier rim protector. For the second consecutive season, he leads the league in blocks, averaging a robust 2.8 per game. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/24/t..._n_2457695.html
  2. We are ranked ! http://www.bestcollegereviews.org/features...eation-centers/
  3. It's the same reason UCF, USF, FAU, FIU, etc. make it to the Sweet 16 year in and year out
  4. Blockalicious. (You didn't say we couldn't invent a new word )
  5. Then his nickname could be Huggins II
  6. From that article, I see (1) a lack of new arena funds, and (2) JAR bleachers replaced with seat-back chairs and "doing some things in the corners".
  7. And top-flight soccer athletes have been attracted to the "industrial midwest" to play at Akron for many years now.
  8. Yes, looks like we will be on CBS...center stage. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/scoreboard?date=20130321 I might be a little sleepy Fri. morning at work
  9. Think bigger, take the next step. KD needs to be in Shaka's head and not the other way around.
  10. At least it isn't Michigan or Syracuse or St. Louis, right?
  11. Yes. Here's another: K-State at Kansas City http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab...sunday/1976695/
  12. It will be Syracuse on Friday in Austin: http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology
  13. Hmmm, I missed that episode. I guess it comes down to the cost of dynamite and jackhammers
  14. If you excavate 20 ft. down, that's 20 feet of wall you don't need to build above ground (most of the lower bowl)...I would think the excavation is a bit cheaper than building structure - beams/steel/brick/etc.(?)
  15. (1:00) (6:30)
  16. You would never guess blue & gold are the colors for both schools. I don't really care for the whites & silver. The black looks wrong on Can't too but who cares about them.
  17. Also on ESPN3. Go Lady Zips, bring it home !!
  18. "When he's in the game, he changes the game" (Coach Dambrot on Zeke Marshall, post-game interview)
  19. Can't lost by 40 to BGSU ??!!
  20. Make it 8-10K to accommodate bigger Zips games (Can't State, OU, Bracket Busters), attract bigger OOC opponents (and potential entry into other leagues ), HS tourney, graduations & events (presidential town hall meetings). Create nice looking partitions (not a curtain!) to close off the upper half for most mens games and to not look empty for less-attended TV games), womens hoops, and volleyball. A nice concourse around the perimeter of the building. I agree with having the exterior complement the other newer campus architecture.
  21. Dan Dakich @dandakich Akron goes into Ohio and wins..locks up an at large no question..my national COY?? Keith Dambrot of Akron..no question
  22. I would take OU in that case, given the recent history in Athens and the target on our backs. OTOH, if OU goes off as big favorites based on past history, I would take the Zips. We won't be getting blown out this time.
  23. Much appreciated !
  24. I'm thinking Coach K. is going to be "upwardly mobile" in the near future.
  25. Absolutely looked like an exciting mid-major venue on ESPN2.
