  1. Other than her "Division I (aka the Football Bowl Subdivision)" error, it was good.
  2. Thanks for the link. Tried to get on ESPN3 but Brighthouse is a Phail..
  3. This. Why wouldn't we want as many high schools across the country as possible to emulate us, see the logos, and hear "Akron Zips" and "Fear the Roo"? Our revenue received from 'protecting' the logos would be $0....schools would just use something else rather than pay. Think of it as free advertising.
  4. Died of undetermined causes at a restaurant at 1 a.m. -- weird.
  5. Manny Messegeur, Assistant Head Coach James Carville
  6. Since those losers have nothing better to do than a Zips lookalike thread (and they are pretty good at it), it's only fair we answer back... http://www.ucfathletics.com/sports/m-footb...footbl-mtt.html #29 Lyle Dankenbring Conan O'Brien
  7. UCF Fan Forum: http://ucf.rivals.com/forum.asp?sid=908&fid=71 They are talking more about Week 2 (at Columbus) than Week 1. Could be a good game actually.
  8. homedogs for game 1... http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/ With the over/under around 48, it works out to a roughly 36-12 score.
  9. I don't see why they ever had to ban Stickem. It makes the game more entertaining....lots more spectacular one-handed catches and picks !
  10. Was this ever posted? (from akronsportsnow.com)

  12. Never take motivational advice from a fat person.
  13. OK, they got the 'photo' caption wrong and its not new (leave it to the ABJ). Still, their "serious renovations" to the exterior appear to be turning a homely building into another homely building.
  14. http://www.ohio.com/news/local/familiar-do...&s=1.324097 They are certainly choosing a dull design for its replacement...I like the old round building better. The city needs a design committee to come up with a suggested theme or some kind of design cues for the downtown area, like there is now on campus, OK Don?!?!
  15. http://collegefootball.about.com/gi/o.htm?...awarehouse.com/ ..shows the 1985 MTSU score as 17-0...not that it changes the story. I have no inside info but firmly believe Muse & Co. wanted to move up to 1-A well before GF became available.

  17. I have a different take on it. A couple of first-round losses in the NCAA really doesn't warrant such a long term commitment considering where we want to be. It tells me the U is afraid of having to find and hire another high quality mens basketball coach while still in the JAR and with the recent memory of iCoach. With a new arena in the near future it wouldn't be such a problem but if the admin believes that we couldn't get anyone else as good as KD in the next 10 years, the arena must still be a long way off, unfortunately.
  18. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/foot...s.ap/index.html Emmert has not ruled out the possibility of shutting down the Penn State football program in the wake of the scandal, adding that he had "never seen anything as egregious."
  19. That's a great tribute and a Blue Board Hall of Fame worthy post, IMHO !
  20. Right...the MAC refs would get dizzy and pass out from blowing their whistles so much..
  21. Oh, wow...being out of the area I didn't realize that many schools already had it. I guess it's the smaller & rural schools playing catch-up now. The savings on mowing/aerating/fertilizing/painting/repairs also helps to offset some of the cost. Makes me wonder what % of Ohio H.S.'s are already on synthetic. Now I'm also wondering if any Ohio teams were playing on artificial turf before the Zips (of course it wasn't such a great thing back in the "rug on cement" days).
