  1. No, we should definitely be looking at up and comers like Ianello and Arth.
  2. I have no doubt the BG coaches talked to the team this week about being ready to pounce at the end of each half. And no doubt WMU will as well.
  3. yuge. this is what they invited us for, to play good soccer and challenge them.
  4. would muchly like to dispense some payback for last year's tourney loss..
  5. Thanks, that was a good watch. Here's the youtube link:
  6. Ohio game ZW is out... comments are turned off.
  7. It might start getting real for the MAC if 1) NIU and/or Toledo take their football to the MWC and 2) if the PAC12 reels in some AAC members causing the AAC to go looking for replacements.
  8. I might drive up to campus Saturday. I might buy a pregame Oktoberfest brat (sounds like a nice event to benefit the students, alumni, fans, community, and my stomach). And depending on how the Zips offense is performing in the first half, I might even buy a ticket and go inside.
  9. I don't think an AD usually gets a chance to hire another FB coach if his previous hire didn't work out(?)
  10. It's all good. The coach can live close to home, make half a 7-figure salary, have no pressure while indulging his stubbornness (if any), and have the team bring in $6M to fund the department. If we want to see winning football, Tosu is omnipresent.
  11. https://www.gazettenet.com/Part-2-How-is-UMass-affected-by-landmark-NCAA-v-House-settlement-proposal-55495331 While UMass’ revenues will take a hit, it’ll also see a large increase in TV revenue because of the MAC’s football media rights deal with ESPN, which will pay the school about $1.5-2.5 million per year. This is several times what UMass would expect to earn from Atlantic 10 revenues, which come primarily from men’s basketball. The Minutemen will receive 75% of a share of MAC distributions in 2025-26 (expected to be between $1.5-2 million) and a full share every year thereafter (expected to be between $2-2.5 million).
  12. Yeah, that would be quite an upheaval for them for not much more money in the diminished MWC w/ more travel. Unless they'd get a really good signing bonus.
  13. The MAC allows affiliate membership in various Olympic sports which could still include departed football members but I'm not sure about basketball.
  14. His value will get sorted out but the much bigger story IMO is UNLV now being stuck in the MWC with the left-behinds and whatever FCS schools they backfill with.
  15. Zips are 12 points underdogs. The way I think it breaks down is 3 for being on the road + 3 for punt return fielding issues + 3 for QB with PTSD + 3 for clock management issues.
  16. I read that mwc is trying to keep its remaining members together. Pac may have to look more Eastward.
  17. like others have said, he's likely here at least until his contract ends. Not sure you could fire him and not the AD. Hopefully we improve and it's not an issue.
  18. They lost. Toledo lost to WKU. NIU lost to Buffalo. There were a lot of great college football games today, accompanied by a lot of degenerate drinking.
  19. OU could have gone to 10-7 at UK but fumbled on a sack from the UK 5 and gave up another TD. 17-0 UK.
  20. The flip side is we won't be facing a Finn or Rourke or Gabbert for 3-4 years straight.
  21. likely a 17 point swing in the score. Of course they probably had a few mistakes that might have offset some of it but we should have covered the spread.
