  1. That and the snow kept me home. Kind of a shame that out of the approx. 8 months of the Zips' sports year, about 5 of them are during mostly crappy weather.
  2. and too many missed 3's within the friendly confines...
  3. We're probably not Catholic enough for the A10 but if it gave us a little extra bump in recruiting we'd probably have as much chance of getting to the big dance regularly as winning the MAC. Duquesne won it last year and Dayton got an at-large.
  4. Must win. Can't be losing to directional Alabama's.
  5. Is NIU basketball leaving the MAC?
  6. The A10 footprint is from the east coast to Chicago/St. Louis which we would obviously be within, and already has an Ohio member in Dayton. Their members are scattered between 4-5 different conferences for football, one of which might suit us. With UMass leaving, they will be at 14 (basketball) members... would they be interested in an Akron/Kent dynamic duo to go to 16?
  7. Near-term reshufflings notwithstanding, it would seem likely that UMass would replace NIU on our 2026 schedule. https://fbschedules.com/2026-akron-football-schedule/
  8. Ahem, "upper body injury"... let's not violate the young man's privacy.
  9. Wait, what? Why is he leaving (the money of) Baylor?
  10. They pretty much curb-stomped Colorado St. which is now a PAC-12 school (!?) I think we have to start saying G6.
  11. He has nothing left to prove at Oklahoma I suppose. (or so the coaches may have told him)
  12. Why do they all post all of their offers on 'formerly Twitter'? Is that meant to raise their profile with other coaches/schools?
  13. After what happened with the UNLV QB, it would be a roll of the dice as to whether the Barry Odom admin would reneg on any NIL money being offered to CJ.
  14. https://ohiobobcats.com/news/2024/12/18/brian-smith-named-ohio-football-head-coach.aspx the ferocious felines are bowling today at noon on ESPN.
  15. Whether they're flying 1 time zone east as far as UMass or Buffalo 4 times per season versus 1-2 time zones west isn't a big cost difference. They will increase their revenue over the MAC and be done with the Tue.-Wed. games. And they're not giving up much if anything by playing other sports in a more regional league. Not sure if they'll have to move their soccer program out of the MVC.
  16. OTOH, I would imagine schools want to get their new TP players chosen and enrolled for the winter semester to be ready for spring ball. Kind of a rock and hard place dilemma.
  17. Congrats to both. Do we know for sure if Budler is returning next year and exactly the extent of his injury and whether it could linger into the future?
  18. Akron U. 😄 (I give him a pass for not knowing yet to abbreviate University in our case)
  19. AFAIK, women's basketball and volleyball are still required for MAC membership.
