  1. And then the Canadians hit a deep three with a defender in his face with a ton of time left on the shot clock. Of course he couldn't have missed that one. We lost the game on that play and the ensuing offensive possession.
  2. Good possession to cut the lead to three. Good ball movement and really made the Canadians work on defense. Tired legs helps us on the other end too. I think we can pull this out.
  3. Agree 100%! How can we play aggressive defense when every minor touch is a foul? And is it just me or are the Canadians shooting especially well from the field and line?
  4. Way to go, Nitro. The Canadians haven't cooled off with their outside shooting though.
  5. I am not giving up yet. If we start playing like we now how and the Canadians actually cool off from outside, we have a decent shot. And I used to be the one who gave up at this point. I just wish we had more than three players who showed up on offense tonight. Treadwell and McClanahan should be on the bench the wrest of the game...ice cold.
  6. I think the Canadians are gonna let us back in this one. I think we'll play a better second half too.
  7. Especially when many of the baskets are from uncontested layups and on second chances. The Canadians aren't this good. We are making them look much better than they are.
  8. We need to cut this lead to one possession before half time.
  9. Ironically, Zeke is having one of the better offensive games I have seen of him and one of the worst defensively. I spoke too soon...two missed FT's.
  10. Our defense has gone LIMP the past 7-8 minutes. Diggs is keeping us in this one at the other end.
  11. As a whole, we are playing well enough to win. I would expect us to extend a lead in the second half as the Canadians get tired because they aren't nearly as deep as we are. We are shooting the three really well thus far.
  12. He is the biggest homer ever. Why do you have to grow to like him? Quite often, he is what makes watching/listening to the Zips tolerable. Thankfully, it is basketball season.
  13. The MAC and 1350 feeds are perfectly in sync. Watching online while listening to Frenchy. I love it!
  14. Amen. It's February...couldn't be further from soccer season with a good basketball team, and we have fans commenting on our goalie's beard! We have the best soccer fans in the country, hands down! ZNO rules!
  15. Just ask the Houston Texans. I'm sure the trend is even more exaggerated on the road in the playoffs. They win that game yesterday easily without all the interceptions!
  16. Is this available to watch online? I'm OOA (out of Akron ).
  17. Can you say bulletin board material?!
  18. So let me get this straight, with a supposed "recruiter" in iCoach we were losing out to the likes of a lower division in YSU? Pathetic. I can't be more thrilled with the new hire though. Whereas iCoach did and said everything wrong, Coach Bowden has been the polar opposite thus far. Very exciting.
  19. Wonder which loss is considered the bad one. Valpo and Duquesne weren't terrible losses, but they were games we should have (and could have) won.
  20. A quote from UA Professor John C. Green: http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/13/c...ace/?hpt=hp_bn3 “Some of these evangelical leaders are not as active as they once were in politics and the evangelical movement has changed a little overtime,” says John Green, a political scientist from the University of Akron. “Where this group could have an effect is if they coalesced around one candidate and then helped to provide resources.” Boots on the ground, phone lists, robocalls, and even the possibility of an evangelical super PAC could move the needle for a candidate, Green said. But the time for such resource-intensive mobilization is growing thin.
  21. #75 right now: http://www.realtimerpi.com/rpi_261_Men.html AR- Pine Bluff and FL A&M really bring down the SOS (327 and 339, respectively). Replacing those opponents in the future with more middle of the road teams that we still pull wins out against would help dramatically IMO. And if we ever stop losing in the OOC to the likes of Valpo and Duquesne, Joe Akron might get interested and show up for MAC games.
  22. I disagree. Had we not lost to Duquesne and Valpo, we'd be right where we need to be for consideration thus far. Even closing the game out against VCU would have made a big difference. The team is good enough and the schedule strong enough for an at-large bid, but it would likely require around 7 losses or less for the entire season. A tougher schedule?...maybe 10 losses would be acceptable. We just have to stop losing OOC games to teams we should beat early in the season.
  23. That's a John Madden comment there.
  24. Just imagine how bad it must feel for the 4 fans (thanks, CK) on the K.E.N.T. message board.
  25. It all comes down to money. 50 years ago when Bowden and Paterno were getting their starts, the difference in salaries between upper echelon schools and the lower was not nearly what it is now. I don't blame the coaches...if they are in it for money, let them jump programs. But you're right, they won't leave a legacy anywhere.
