  1. I completely agree! And likewise, losses to the likes of MTSU, Valpo, and Duquesne look like terrible losses to Joe Akron even though the programs are at least respectable (Valpo and Duquesne) or having an unusually solid season (MTSU).
  2. I actually think in most games, our bench has been better than the starters. That's insane! What MAC team in recent memory could say that?
  3. On another forum today, DiG made a reference to statsheet.com. A few days ago, a reference was also made to a website of all archived college football scores by season. I enjoy these sites but never remember or book mark them. I would appreciate it if the moderators could make a page in the IPSbeyond pull down menu or another tab. I encourage other members to post here regarding web pages similar to those above that would be valuable to concentrate. Perhaps when the list gets long enough, we can segregate by sports. I'll start the list: www.statsheet.com www.realtimerpi.com (perhaps defaulted to the Zips' page?) www.collegesoccernews.com
  4. You never know when Nitro might get hot though. If/when he does, it could be a crucial time for this team. Imagine the opponent that is prepared for the other 8 guys on the roster and then Nitro starts torching them. Talk about being demoralized by an unexpected secret weapon! This could very well happen in the post-season and put us over the top in a few contests.
  5. And that is keeping the perimeter open for AA. Ah, the benefits of having a team and not just one superstar! I don't think BSU can stay competitive with us for the whole game. I think they will get worn down in the second half.
  6. I count 3 Zeke blocks and an offensive rebound. Great to see him be so productive early even if he isn't scoring. Game Changer!
  7. Perhaps there should also be an option for no university affiliation at all? Green High School BS Chemical Engineering, UA '03 MS Biomedical Engineering, UA '05 3rd generation UA legacy. MS Bioengineering, Pitt '10 PhD Biomedical Engineering, Carnegie Mellon '11 My athletic loyalty lies with UA. Go Zips!
  8. Do it up, Dr. Z. You have honors on this idea. I am fascinated to see what the results are. I would be interested to know what other schools fellow alumni have attended as well. Pitt and CMU here though my loyalty lies with UA!
  9. Together, CK and B&G nailed it! Joe Akron has no local pride or interest whatsoever and even goes out of his way from discouraging those around him to have any as well. In many cases, he is a Scarlet and Grey zombie yet has never attended the institution that is south on I-71.
  10. A great read, Watcher. And I agree, this team is scary good. What you said about the rotation and how it relates to MAC-level opponents is spot on! No other team has the depth to compete for a full 40 minutes on a consistent basis. We will likely lose a few more conference games the rest of the way, but I expect us to have the best record in the conference at the end of the regular season. I also expect this group to get our first NCAA Tournament win(s) in the next couple years. There has never been a more exciting time to be a Zips basketball fan or a Zips fan in general.
  11. And we beat Ohio head-to-head. And Ball State lost to EMU.
  12. Spreadsheets can be fun.
  13. Apparently though, DiG, it's not exactly a 20 minute rule, but rather a magic number on sliding scale determined pre-game by CK. Sounds like something GP1 would dream up as a testament to his greatness. I expect an ongoing spreadsheet type tally of this as the season progresses, CK.
  14. I would love for you to continue this prediction modality throughout the rest of the season to see how it plays out. Ready, go!
  15. Your prediction stands as accurate, CK. However, as DiG points out, it was a subpar night for Harney, and I don't think playing him another 4+ minutes would have given us the win. This should be a multi-variate analysis.
  16. We lose in Buffalo every year. Disappointing, but oh well. ...on to Can't! After getting waxed by 30 tonight, they will be ready for us.
  17. And then the Canadians hit a deep three with a defender in his face with a ton of time left on the shot clock. Of course he couldn't have missed that one. We lost the game on that play and the ensuing offensive possession.
  18. Good possession to cut the lead to three. Good ball movement and really made the Canadians work on defense. Tired legs helps us on the other end too. I think we can pull this out.
  19. Agree 100%! How can we play aggressive defense when every minor touch is a foul? And is it just me or are the Canadians shooting especially well from the field and line?
  20. Way to go, Nitro. The Canadians haven't cooled off with their outside shooting though.
  21. I am not giving up yet. If we start playing like we now how and the Canadians actually cool off from outside, we have a decent shot. And I used to be the one who gave up at this point. I just wish we had more than three players who showed up on offense tonight. Treadwell and McClanahan should be on the bench the wrest of the game...ice cold.
  22. I think the Canadians are gonna let us back in this one. I think we'll play a better second half too.
  23. Especially when many of the baskets are from uncontested layups and on second chances. The Canadians aren't this good. We are making them look much better than they are.
  24. We need to cut this lead to one possession before half time.
  25. Ironically, Zeke is having one of the better offensive games I have seen of him and one of the worst defensively. I spoke too soon...two missed FT's.
