+1 he's a punk He is polarizing that's for sure. Add him to the list of things you shouldn't talk about at work or on a first date in addition to politics and religion.

UNC Head Coaching Job
UAZipster0305 replied to TheTank123's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
There is an Akron alum who is head coach of a solid Coastal Carolina program who I recommended to the administration for Ken Lolla's position. We are very lucky to have Coach Porter, and I am glad things worked out the way they did. However, I think Shaun Docking would be a great fit for UNC because he already knows the NC area and has done great things with a small scale program. He also has the Akron soccer brand on his resume, which can't hurt either. http://www.goccusports.com/sports/m-soccer...ng_shaun01.html I am kind of disappointed. Where are Z.I.P. and MDZip to comment on this? -

Don't blame Zeke for the team never working the ball to him. Sure he could be more aggressive but tonight he played defense about 90% of perfect and was in great position to take the ball a dozen times while only getting half that. I wasn't blaming Zeke for anything. We won. I was simply saying we need more of a contribution from him to be successful in the MAC Tourney. Whether he needs to step up himself or the team needs to get him more involved, I don't know. I have a feeling it is a combination of the two. When watching recently, I didn't get the sense that he was being assertive in demanding the ball on offense though.

UNC Head Coaching Job

Do we have room??? From Top Drawer Soccer............. Despite finishing in a tie for second (behind AkronTop Drawer Soccer) in our chat audience poll asking who had the best incoming class, North Carolina has garnered the most Top 100 players with six. Jordan McCrary, Darvin Ebanks, Miguel Lopez, Ryan Dodson, Jon Ray and Cooper Vandermaas will all be donning the Carolina blue. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/players-to-...igning-Day-news Doubt it happens for a couple of reasons: 1. School has to release players once they sign LOI. If player leaves without official release then they must sit out Freshman year. I seriously doubt UNC would release any of these guys 2. I believe that several are from North carolina and environs so they may not wanna leave UNC. BTW...in response to the question of whether Porter leaves for UNC a "very reliable source" at Zips soccer program said "Haha no" a little while ago. With the National Championship in hand at a soccer school, why would Coach Porter leave? I was at the UNC game this year. Their fans and facilities don't come close to comparing to ours! His situation couldn't be improved by going to another school. The only thing I see Coach Porter leaving for is Head Coach of the Men's National Team. -
To me, the box score tells the story of this game. (I was unable to watch or listen.) The Zips shoot 38% from 3 and well in general from the floor and line. WMU is 0-12 from 3. If those stats are more even, the game is a toss up. We live and die by the 3. Looks like a good game from Nik and Brett. Zeke's stats are still underwhelming. I hope he gets it going before the MAC Tourney.

Why doesn't my UPS driver look like that?

It won't happen. They are more worried about same sex marriage and abortion to worry about fiscal issues important to 99% of Americans. I don't even know why these things are issues other than they have implications for religious beliefs, which IMO have no place in politics. Same sex marriage is a universal inevitability, and the Supreme Court has ruled on abortion, so no major changes will be made to it. We have a hundred problems more important than these.

I'm not. I'm a real conservative who is desperately concerned the conservative message has been hijacked by a group of complete fools who have sixteenth century ideas about science and childish religious views (Evangelicals). I don't even know what the Republican/conservative message is anymore. It sounds more like Charlie Brown's teacher with a few key phrases like "socialism" dropped in. There is never a plan discussed...just anti-liberalism and anti-Democrat. All I believe we would get from Republicans being in charge is a larger military budget, tax breaks (particularly to the wealthy) that we can't afford, and more religion infused into government.
-
This country needs fiscal conservancy to maintain itself. The Republicans don't make me believe this would happen if they had control.

At least we can all agree on one thing:
-
I am not a flaming liberal either. Both parties are terrible and don't represent the average person. They only represent two perfectly opposing extremes.

Yep, both were open and shut cases in which radicals committed terrible acts and millions of people were hoodwinked into believing in crazy conspiracies. You must be a sheep. Baaaaaa! I bet you are way too quick to even consider such events as possible, so you immediately dismiss them without considering facts or watching the movie/documentary. If true, it is exactly this kind of mentality and attitude that would allow these things to happen. I am not saying these events happened exactly the way described by others in books/movies in any absolution. However, they are definite possibilities, and there are reasons the real truth is hidden. Single assissins and terrorists can't change parade routes, have the military stand down, have a limo of evidence immediately rebuilt, botch an autopsy, or host war games on the exact same day of the exact same scenario that is happening as part of a terrorist act. A steel and concrete building falling because of fire is completely unprecedented let alone after only "burning" for about an hour. Nor do buildings that are pancaking floors as described by the 9/11 Commission fall at free fall speed and get reduced to pure dust and conveniently short steel pillars. Why were thermal hotspots (via IR satellite) and molten steel found in the basement of the World Trade Centers found a month after the collapse? The list of such things goes on and on. Your faith and trust in people with infinite money and power staggers me.

Mac players in NFL Championship weekend
UAZipster0305 replied to Dr Z's topic in Akron Zips Football
Dwight Smith won a Super Bowl playing with Tampa. He even had two interception returns for TD's and would have been a likely choice for MVP had it not already been awarded before his second interception return. -
Downright scary, and oh surprise, the Great GP1 is right again. (No sarcasm there either.) I love how FoxNews claims to be "fair and balanced" yet has over a quarter of its air time devoted to Republican/conservative propaganda. FoxRadio is even worse with nearly 24 hours per day of this crap. I don't believe all other media is so liberally biased that such a slant is justified either. Let's be honest though, Democrats are not great either...they just have real leadership in place that aren't a bunch of talking heads. People who follow this stuff in any absolution on either side of the aisle are nothing more than sheep. I love how these guys claim to be upholding moral values through conservative politics and yet someone like Rush has been married four times...talk about protecting the sanctity of marriage. Most of them also claim to see it as their responsibility to "educate" the public on conservative issues yet are high school and college drop outs. Regardless of formal education, a truly educated person seeks out information on their own and makes up their own mind rather than having it all spoon fed to them. Every aspect of this culture fascinates and amazes me. Consider Rush Limbaugh's ~$100 million dollar per year salary. You really don't believe that LifeLock and other small companies pay enough in advertising dollars to support this behemoth, do you? What/who supports the rest of his income? Big business? I honestly don't know, but nothing would surprise me. The back and forth struggle between liberals and conservatives is only meant to distract everyone from asking deeper questions about the government, media, and big business and how they all operate together. Watch JFK or Loose Change if you have your doubts. Donald Sutherland's character in JFK says it all, and 9/11 is our generation's version of JFK.

We are actually overachieving. Ball St. proved to be the better team because they beat us on the field. Yet, we beat them in attendance!

Creation of a Supporters' Group

Liking it, but i'm still thinking more badassedness is needed. Badassed? OK. What about "The A-Team"? You can use the old moving 'A' in the logo. Now that is badass! -
Agreed. And when the team struggles, there is not a single player to step-up and put the team on their back. Overall, I don't think it is a lack of talent. I believe the problems have to do with heart and team chemistry. Defense and rebounding are all about heart and effort. There is still plenty of games left to be played this season though. I think we will rally. Besides, if we make the MAC Tournament, those are the only games that really matter anyhow. The other post-season tournaments are nice but the only way to advance the program and earn respect is to win the MACC and play in the NCAA Tournament. We will make the MAC Tournament. Let's see what happens.

Giving up 39 to Miami in a half is the equivalent of 50 against anyone else. Where is our defense? Defense is supposed to be a staple of KD's teams.
-
It is a sad day when the Sweaters are blowing us out by 15 in the first half. There are some games the Charlie Coles Sweaters don't even score 15 points total in a half...I am thinking back to one of their extremely sloppy games at the Q a year or so ago. Anybody?

I am not spamming, this is legit. www.DMAchoice.org If you sign-up and go through the steps, the service eliminates junk mail from credit cards, insurance companies, catalogs from which you have never purchased anything, etc. I did it and it was really easy. Similar to a do-not-call registry.

One game, look at our overall records and the teams we've each beat and lost to. OU has lost to some terrible teams, I would say the only bad team we've lost to besides Buffalo is Ohio University. We may not have killed the teams we were supposed to kill but at least won. We just haven't upset anyone yet. You could argue that Can't, Miami, and Akron are all better than OU, and the argument is pretty good save for one fluke win that the Bobcats have over us. Are you dillusional? We got worked in that game against OU. We had no answer for Kellogg or their PG.
-
I don't think we are better than Ohio or Can't. I'm not trying to be negative but rather, realistic. Ohio proved it on the court and Can't was without their best player in our house. I hope I am wrong, and only the remainder of the season will tell. Go Zips!
