Scary that this guy is one of the more reasonable GOP leaders. If I were a conservative/Republican I'd be really embarrassed. Party leadership is a bunch of talking heads, and now one of the few (previously) credible candidates goes off the deep end. I bet the liberals/Democrats are quietly throwing a party over their increasingly imminent victory in 2012. As long as the economy stays strong...

Zeke's name was the only one I heard mentioned in the first couple of minutes. He played well. Plain and simple, this was a team loss. It was only one game. We have won 7 of 8 and have our rivals coming up on the road to close out the season. Then, we have a great shot at dancing (provided we don't run up against OU who I hate to say it, have our number and are just a bad match-up for us). I think we will get our 20 win season too. I have us at 18 right now because I don't count that "scrimmage" against Milliken. Only D-I competition is worthy of counting.

Let's get it going here! Start playing like I know we can come back on these guys.

I'm a Zips fan, please schedule times that are best for me and other Zip fans. I don't give two squirts about Columbus. 3 pm games are best. Gives us maximum time for pre and post game tailgating. You might get a 100+ more fans by scheduling around Columbus games, not thousands. And then they will show up in their OSU gear. No thanks.

How profitable are your all tax subsidized highways that need replaced every 7 years in the north? This is a ridiculous measure for the value of high-speed rail. Also, automobiles are definitely not more energy efficient than rail. Just think about it in terms of common sense What would require the least amount of energy to roll: 1) a tire that undergoes deformation as it rolls, or 2) a non-deforming steel wheel rolling on a steel rail? There in lies the efficiency that a car/truck will never be able to overcome. The only thing I concede here is the convenience and independence a car provides. -
I think this is the best point of the thread. Zeke isn't a scorer at this point in his career. And people can theorize whatever goofball psychoanalytical hypothesis they want regarding "why?"...but Zeke is a defensive player 1st. And 2nd and 3rd. That's the way it is today. Letting Zeke focus on D, and letting our other O-Centric players score, is the best formula for winning in March. When teams start focusing on McKnight and Nik, then Zeke will need to step up and score. Zeke loves D. He always has. Letting him focus on D, and letting the other hot hands score, is what's best for our team right now. The standings don't lie. Sure they do. Right now the standings suggest Can't is better than us, and in all facets, we know that

http://www.ohio.com/news/break_news/117096523.html Finishing the season on the road hurts as does having our rivalry game rendered meaningless with it at the end of the season. What's up with homecoming against a non-conference opponent? Has that happened before?

Figures. Too good to be true.

As Michael Reghi might say, "Book it!" I will be watching on channelsurf while listening to Frenchie.

Corrupt, lazy and greedy business leaders are just as much to blame for the conditions in Detroit, Cleveland, Akron, Pitt and Ytown as unions. When is the last time you guys have been to Pittsburgh? Yeah, it's a beautiful city here. The bike trails are wonderful and the culture is great (especially during football and hockey seasons). Relative to the other cities, I would say Akron trails Pittsburgh, but is far ahead of the others.

Regardless of the sport, I love seeing us pick up wins against these big name schools. I actually enjoy playing tennis too. Keep it up, ladies!

PAY ATTENTION. We are talking about Akron WBB!!! I dare anyone to find a D-1 program with fewer wins over the past 30 yrs. Can't State football based on win percentage is a good bet.

Can you imagine KD beating OSU in the NCAA Tourney and then iCoach beating Mr. Sweater Vest in September? We'd own them...Why is my alarm clock going off?

I foresee Can't going on a losing streak that makes the final game of the season against us for first place in the MAC East. I also see Miami losing to us and Buffalo making it tight at the top.

If they run the table and make a strong showing in the tournament, they might just might have a shot at an at large or play in OK, I am dreaming. Had we not lost to NIU and EMU, I think we'd be right there on the cusp of an at-large NCAA bid. Unfortunately, just like most seasons, it's MACC or bust. I have a good feeling about the MACC though. We are peaking at the right time. -
Don't forget how well the CC soccer team is under head coach and Akron alum, Shaun Docking! http://www.goccusports.com/sports/m-soccer...ng_shaun01.html

K S U at Miami tonight.. A big one in the MAC East !

That was me. I think the OT game along with their stretch of 5 games in 10 days will have Can't struggling down the stretch. -

Things are getting tight at the top of the east division. We can do it but have to be nearly flawless the rest of the way. Man, those losses to NIU and EMU really sting! -

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that ESPN3 is showing EMU-CMU and not the Flushes vs. Sweaters? Any one have a video link for Can't State-Miami? -
Unbelievable that someone rips me off so blatantly. All it would have taken was a simple PM or post stating "Thanks for the idea" and everything would be fine. I hope the classless lackey that took credit for this as their own work enjoys ZN. I used to provide Marketing ideas to the Thomas administration. Many were used, and they always had the class to say "thanks." I miss classy people. They're a thing of the past. Given the Captain's sarcastic history, I can't tell if this is serious or not.

I think Creighton is a great match-up for us. I like the prospective return game next year. I wish we played more MVC and Horizon League teams in the OOC schedule. I also think that for the sake of local interest, CSU and YSU should be on the schedule every year.

I am hoping for a game that goes into 4 overtimes, and I don't care who wins. An extended game could provide the emotional and physical exhaustion both teams need to collapse going down the stretch. It would be a great start to Can't's stretch of 5 games in 10 days, which is rough enough with all games ending in regulation. This guarantees that I don't have to root for Can't or the Sweaters. -
Dambrot Making a Late Run @ Coach of the Year?
UAZipster0305 replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
I guess Caleb Porter is never eligible then. What a great problem to have. I will trade MAC COTY awards for NCAA Championships all day! Seriously though, if KD wins 4 of the next 6 or more and makes the MACC game (regardless of outcome), he's got my vote. The turnaround has been night and day. More than anything, this proves to me he can coach. It is easy to stand back and watch your more talented team win, but it takes a true teacher and coach to right the ship. Way to go KD! I believe. Oh, and of course,
