This is the 4th basket and one we give up to Toledo. We keep shooting three after three after three. That's all we do because there is nothing we can do inside.I still feel the same way about Bardo and Conyers.

Don't get your hopes too high. The felons will find a way to pull it out and win. That's something the zips need to learn.

I totally agree that we do need a big body in the middle. Our main problem this season has been the lack of inside game. After trying Bardo for two years, he is obviously not the answer. Since we do have another big guy on the bench, does anyone feel that he deserves a chance.And Zipwatcher, please before you hit me with the political: "if coaches thought he could do the job, he would have played", just tell me what is it that Bardo is doing that another 6-10 can't do.

Dear Dave,It is one thing to be supportive of your coach and your team and another thing to be absolutely ridiculous. You are seriously telling me that you appreciate Bardo's value on the floor? and why ? because of his 0.6 blocks per game. It doesn't stop here, you're also showing Nate Linhart off in that comparison? Bardo's head is 3 inches above that of Linhart and his thing is "supposedly" deffense. And you are comparing his stats to Linhart who is running at the arc grabbing steals. Next thing would be to compare Bardo's Blocks to those of Humpty If you want to play this game, compare Bardo to someone of his sizeBardo got 0.6 blocks/game in 15.6 min/gameSwiech got 0.4 blocks/game in 4 min/gam (extrapolate that to 1.6 blocks/16 minutes/game)Even more ridiculous, bringing up that Bardo's FG% is 0.489. ARE YOU AWARE THAT BARDO ATTEMPTED 45 FGs IN 468 MINUTES? That's less than 1 attempt per 10 minutes on the floor. That's not enough to make a statistical sample. The guy would only consider looking at the basket if he was no more than 2 feet away. And you're still happy with his 0.489?

This reminds me of the Rasheed wallace-Ilgauskas thing a couple of years ago. Z's head was wide open with a lot of blood flowing. No one in a Cavs uniform got in Rasheed's face...What did Rasheed say after the game? Z deserved it and he would do it again. What did the NBA do? nothing.Today, when any cavs player is fouled hard, the agressor will get it. As a result, they think twice before they foul and the refs know that it will not go by without serious actions so they act accordingly.It shouldn't be like that in a perfect world but: Welcome to the real world.For Singletary to leave the court untouched is not a shot at Linhart's manhood but the manhood of the other zips on the floor. If it doesn't bother you to see your teammate (let alone your captain) suckerpunched, you're not a teammate.

That game was so ugly and so not worth the money (or the drive in my case) and i call myself a diehard zip.The only entertaining part (to me) was after the rowdies rolled out their banner and Nate went their way and started their little thing.I think the two main reasons zips bball is not entertaining anymore are Bardo and Conyers. I just can't enjoy watching a player who looks clueless every time he touches the ball. Let alone someone who is the tallest on the floor but is still consistently outrebounded. Here is the most confusing statement i've ever heard from a coach:quoting Dambrot from Mike Rasor's blog:"I like Bardo. I told him until he tells me a little extra work. I'm not speaking to him until he gives me more work on his own. Throw his numbers out the window; he's a good player. You might not see the rebounds, but he's not letting his guy get it."So coach calls a good player someone who can't score, can't block shots, can't make an assist, and can't rebound as long as his guy doesn't get it.

Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Linhart for raising such a great person and also thank you Nate for being a ZIP. Even though it is going to be real tough, I am definitely going to make the 2.5 hour drive on a work night to give Nate one last standing ovation at the JAR. That's the least we can do to thank our MVP.Hopefully, he will get some more at the Q next week

John would have been a senior if he stayed with us. He was in the same class with Nate Linhart and Jimmy Conyers.

The answer is very straight forward. We are a good team who can beat good teams without a dominant inside player (see niagara, Can't, miami) but we are easily defeated by a bad team if they have a dominant inside game (see NIU, Valpo). We simply couldn't find anything to do with their egvaboa(sp?) guy. I don't know how did you get that general feeling. Can anyone please explain to me how can Mike be better than any other center? when he doesn't deffend, doesn't score, doesn't rebound, doesn't box our, and doesn't create a screen. Did you ever ever, i repeat, EVER see Steve screw up? and by that i mean allow someone to dunk over him, or miss a 1 foot shot, or have a ball bounce of his hands in a rebound attempt?If we all have to endure through seeing 7-15 minutes of terrible center play in each game (assuming that both our centers are terrible) why don't we alternatively give both of them fair chances? Even with Zeke next year, he's not going to play 40 minutes/game, is he? we still need someone to play C for 15 minutes/game. Is that still going to be Bardo? If KD is trying to free up a scholarship for Darryl Roberts (which he deserves one), why is Swiech being pushed out not Bardo himself?Why do i feel that I am the only one who is terribly irritated by this situation.

The camera is centered at the middle of the court and i can't see any action around the baskets. Is that a joke or something?

Try to see the positive. We have a high school all american coming to UofA next year and he will immediately be placed in the starting line up. If he is as good as advertised, he should be one of the best players in the MAC next season. Kids like Zeke don't grow on trees, they are just as tall as one.I would love it if Swiech, a guy who can't beat out Bardo, would transfer and come back to try to show our high school all american how basketball is played. I'm sure Zeke would welcome the opportunity to compete against Swiech. I don't know how you mannaged to insert Zeke in this thread. Anyways, back to talking about the team THIS year. You see Swiech as someone who couldn't beat Bardo. How can you beat Bardo? commit more fouls? that's the only thing the guy does. Have you ever seen him in a game? the ball would hit his hands and bounce away when he tries to grab a rebound. He gets the ball in the post 1-3 foot away from the basket and still cannot put it in the damn basket, on average he commits 0.5 fouls/minute on the floor. I guess last month, when Nik was benched, you also thought that he couldn't beat Bardo, right?

Hilltopper, for 25 games since the beginning of the season, i kept hoping to see Swiech get playtime. I gave up already, I guess KD wants to break him (whatever that means). I am used to seeing Bardo play for 6-15 minutes and achieve his great line of all zeros except 3 fouls I won't be surprised if Steve transfers this offseason, i just hope he won't transfer to a MAC team and come show us what he can do over the next 3 seasons.Anyways, rant over.Anyone has a link to the horizon league video feed?

We have got 3 back to back to back TOs leading to 6 unanswered points. NIU has got more offensive rebounds than the total rebounds we have got.But yeah, i agree with you... it is the officials fault we're loosing.

The average law applies to shooting% but does not apply to rebounding effort. We are getting killed at the boards 17-7 so far.

The real question should be why are they hitting everything?

We're playing like a bunch of kids in a street ball team. I hope the real zips will show up before it is too late.
