Also, i like the fact that all mac teams are relatively in close proximity to each other not only because of travel expenses to the team but also for away fan suport. The faithful fan willing to drive 3-4 hours can travel to 75% of the away MAC games while with C-USA the closest team would be a 5 hour drive.

I cannot believe that when the refs called an incomplete pass, they didn't throw their flags for pass interference. The CB had no idea where the ball was and he initiated contact with Bowser before he touches the ball. The refs did however call a similar pass interference for Can't (in our end zone) few plays later.

Now that the game emotions are put to rest, and besides all the feelings about the team and the game result, am i the only one disappointed with the whole game day experience?What a pathetic fan turnout for a Div 1 College game, what a horrible game day experience, what a waste of a day to drive 5 hours to spend your saturday like that. Home opening, last season in the RB, stupid me dreaming of a great day of wet football. Going into the RB, i saw a hundred rowdies packed in the corner by the end zone while a similar hundred of Ball state fans spread around the 50 yard line (talk about home court advantage).Other than the rowdies, UA band, and HS bands, we maybe had a thousand other fans 100 of which were wearing OSU gear (yes inside the RB).During the game, our D on 3rd downs and the stadium is so quiet i could hear the airplanes engines on the runway. On offense it took us a TD to get some clapping out of our fans, a first down was not necessarily worth clapping. One of the main recruiting tools coaches use to attract prospects is gameday experience and fan support. I bet some of our players had better fan suport in their HS games than what they had today. The state of the stadium is not an excuse, the rain is not an excuse either... I am not sure what the reason is.

We're a young team this year but we are no-excuse team and with the talent level on the roster and the wisdom of our coaching staff, i am hopeful that we will still be competitive and give you all you can handle in Richmond. 4* Zeke Marshall is a 09-10 recruit so you guys won't see him this year. How about another Akron VCU series. I would like to see that.And yeah about Can't state, Tyree evans will fit right in there. Being troubled is becoming a "must" to make their team.

BuckZip, you and other people who attended both schools are not the ones we call obnoxious fans and i did not mean you by my post. Go back to the post by GP1 to see the description of the obnoxious OSU fans.I do not have any issue with OSU students/alums and people residing in columbus cheering for the buckeyes. My problem is with Akron students/alum and akron residents who feel that they're too good to root for the zips or even hear about them.

This can be ok news or really troubling news, depending on the circumstances.If Mr. Joyce didn't want to be a tail of his brother and wants to go in a different direction than that is fine. Also if KD didn't want him or didn't find a spot in our lineup, that's also fine. The only troubling situation would be if Mr. Joyce didn't like something about his brother's experience and wanted to go a different way. And with the (apparently) great KD-Dru relationship, i don't see that being the case.

KD is a no excuse guy. We all know that this year's team is ridiculously young but that does not mean that they cannot win. All what we need is a couple of high character kids to step up and do the job. Isn't that why KD recruits high character kids?If we break up the positions one by one:1 - We have the best/deepest SF position in the MAC in Linhart & B. Mac (assuming that Mclanahan (sp?) will redshirt)2 - At the SG position, 10/12 MAC teams would love to trade their starting SG for steve McNeese, and if Alex Sullivan can give us some quality freshman minutes, then look out.3 - At the PF, Chris showed at the end of last year that he can comfortably play in the MAC, his brother can definitely help and Nik Cventinovic may also be able to give some minutes.The youth will be more obvious at the last 2 positions:4 - at PG, didn't someone write on this board that Humpty should be Mr. Ohio basketball? and if Steward is starting ahead of him doesn't that make us deep and safe at that position? didn't Dru Joyce start as a freshman? where is the problem?5 - The biggest question mark and the only place where we need people stepping up is the C position. I know we all are excited about Zeke, but were we not all excited when Swiech signed with akron. Wasn't Steve a 27 ppg 10 rpg guy as a senior in HS? and Bardo is definitely not the most polished player but he is not a weak hole either. I mean if the guy can deffend and rebound and have a few putbacks every game, i will live with him not being a scoring threat.We will be a top 4 team in the mac. We may not win it (we never did anyways) but we will still enjoy a great basketball season and witness the growth of the dynasty. I may have my blue and gold shades on but i am really optimistic. Too bad i can't be that optimistic when it comes to football, no matther how thick the shades i put on, i still cannot see no good team and no good future.

I totally agree. I immigrated to this country 7 years ago and settled in Akron. Everyone i talked to thought i was crazy. Out of the whole country, you picked akron, ohio? Go to Florida, or California, bla bla bla.I lived there for 6 years before moving out last year. I do not regret it one bit and if time goes back, i will choose to do the same exact thing. I lived in a great city and went to a wonderful school and i got a great education that is serving me extremely well.Now this also shows that regardless what people in Pittsburgh say, Zeke Marshall knows what he's doing. Very smart decision.
